Are there anyone that is able to block ads using their samsung browser? I cant find the option to block ads even though I installed the ads block app already.
It's on More - Setting - Advanced - Block Content - And choose your ad blocking addons.
I installed Crystal and Adblocker for Samsung, somehow I found Crystal works better.

You just need to activate it. Go to the browser and hit more > settings > advanced > block content and turn it on.
Download "Crystal" from the playstore, it works great for me.
You guys all use the t mobile s7, right? There is no option for block content on my s7 edge but my t mobile s6 has that option. I dont know why.

No option for me either on s7edge
Disregard.....
Edit: Read OPs post incorrectly.
Just download that app "crystal for Samsung " on the playstore and it'll set its self up on opening it you'll see the settings you need
The option appears once you download the content blockers, first download either Crystal or Adblock for Samsung from the Play Store or both and then go to settings> advanced> block content to activate the content blocker.

TMO S7 edge here, and I have the option in Internet -> More -> Settings -> Advanced -> Block Content
Make sure you download "crystal" from the Galaxy app store first
I don't understand what's going on but I installed Crystal for Samsung yet the option still doesn't show up. In the Crystal app when I click on "Open Samsung Browser" nothing happens. When I try going into the browser manually I'm going to Settings->More->Advanced but the only options I have to block anything is pop-ups. Any thoughts?
What works well for system wide ad block and chrome?

I have both Crystal ad Adblock Plus for Samsung installed. I'm on TMO with an S7 edge. My Samsung Internet app is version 4.0.10-51. I do not have the Block Content menu option. I've seen screen shots where it's supposed to be (between "Manage website data" and "Receive web notifications") but it's not there for me.
I rebooted after installing Crystal and ADP but still no option. I am not rooted - are you?

Do you have the Crystal icon in the app drawer? If not, then it is not installed. If so, launch it and configure the filter list. Maybe that will make it appear!
I do have the Crystal icon, and I've launched it. It has a link to configure the Samsung browser which doesn't have the Block Content option it.
It seems like multiple people have this issue - I'd sure like to know what the pattern is as to who's got the option and who doesn't...

OK, I've made it work. I went to the Application Manager, selected the Internet app, select Storage, and then selected "CLEAR DATA" and "CLEAR CACHE". I then launched the browser and the option is there.

For chrome you would have to use something like netguard or blockthis
If some people still don't see the option for content blockers, you guys can try to see if there is an update available for the Samsung Internet browser in the Samsung app store, don't know if it's available on Google Play but it definitely is on the Samsung store.
I use this blocker. No issue at all

The symptom is, each time I switch on my tablet, I receive a notification in lower right corner promoting something like lucky draw, game, etc. If I click on the notification, it automatically starts downloading apk. The apk is always named like yyyymmddxxxxxxxxxxx.apk. I never run those apks, I guess they are not friendly. How can I check which app I installed is doing this?

First check what you have installed recently. Could be one of those apps give spam notifications. I saw something similar on my bro-in-law phone and that was because he installed some kind of "enhancement" program to make his phone run more efficient (it didn't help bytheway).
Also, since you didn't say what OS you're running, 4.0+ has the option to disable notifications when you go to settings>applications>app name. If you find its an app you need, then that might help.
If you thinks its beyond this, then install lookout or norton from the market.
It's not malware, they're called push notification ads. Just download "Ad Blocker" (root required) from the market and it will tell you which app(s) is doing this. You can also choose to delete it from within the app.
Pretty handy.

I don't have it now, I will load it when I get it next time.
However I have the list of apps I installed because I sent it to the author of push detector. How can I send it to you? I just don't want to post it here.
I have another finding, which seems odd to me: I set the home page of chrome to be blank, and I double checked that, but each time I open the browser it always opens a search page with a lot of informations (looks like a portal but I don't like it). How can I know which app replaces my home page with such rubish?
Is it possible the 3G provider does this kind of things? (notification ads and home replacement)?

No, your network provider would have nothing to do with push notification ads or homepage replacement. And as for setting your homepage in Google chrome, are you talking about the desktop version? Because I don't believe you can make that selection on the mobile version, unless I'm missing something?
BTW, you can send that list to me in a PM if you'd like.

Try this app, it will tell you every app that has a shady ad network and you can delete it. A friend of mine had an app that was creating a ton of shortcuts all over her home screens.

In Chrome settings you can set your home page. But it seems it's the 3G provider that replaces the home page for me.

So I have a reddit app, but sometimes I like to browse the actual website ( I have my reasons )... But when I click on a link it will randomly ask if I want to open the link with my reddit app or the browser. I click browser and check the option that says "always open with browser" which is great, except that a second later it asks me the same question after clicking on a link. Just taking a shot here wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. Very annoying after a while. Unrooted here.
Check your settings privacy yet? Maybe your settings is keeping it from doing what you want like accepting cookies or form data etc. What browser are you using?

I like the phone, but the 16gb causes a lot of concern. After downloading my music from Amazon, it's almost gone.
I can't find an option to put music from Amazon on my sd card, is that hte new kit kat "feature"?
Also, the test message preview on my lock screen only says "New Message", ther eused to be an option that gave me a preview of the actual message..is it gone?
On the Note 3, it had a setting where screenshots would enter auto edit mode, came in real handy for me. S5 doesn't seem to have this?
When I disabled my magazine, my home screen transitions isn't continuous ..I know I seen the s5 do this in review videos.

Before you root you may want to look into fix for SHealth and ISIS Wallet (if you use it). You have to stop SHealth and Health Services in app manager and clear data and cache before you installed Xposed. You may even have to uninstall their updates if I remember as well.
Install xposed and it's service , then update Shealth and it should work fine. Once you get that done install ISIS Root Bypass 3.0 module for xposed and check it in modules and reboot and the Wallet will work fine after that.
These were two things that I use often and really had to get working to be happy with root.

Why put off until tomorrow, what you could do today, and prevent yourself from being screwed by VZW when they push 4.4.3 soon, and Root may not work with it?
In the text messaging app you'll see a setting to display the message on the lockscreen instead of new message.
Plug your phone into the computer and drag and drop the music to the SD or use root explorer to move it there.. You don't need root to do this.
No, the S5 cannot auto enter edit mode as far as I know, maybe clear defaults of gallery and set images to auto open in an editor?
As far as continuous transitions just use apex or Nova.

You'll have to edit a file using Root Explorer then if you disable My Magazine you'll have endless home screen scrolling. I use Nova launcher which already has the option in settings. If you definitely have to have the stock launcher and you can't get infinite scrolling to work let me know I'll tell you which file to edit.

Samsung has removed the option to use an app "just once" or " always" when there are more choice to run a program. .
Example: certain email links I would like to open with chrome instead of Internet.
Or: click to call defaults to phone all the time, but sometimes I have to use my viop app, Ringcentral.
Once an app has been selected it becomes default.
Any alternatives I can try?

Yup this is a thing, before (other phones) you had the option to select "use this time only" or make it default, the first time you select something it stays default (Go sms Pro, Nova launcher, etc)
I don't suppose anyone can confirm this happens with other Lollypop devices or just on the S6 Edge+ ??
If other devices can do it the somehow Samsung has made the app decision one time only (annoyingly)
I am pretty sure I read about this 'function' being removed with the latest version of TouchWiz . If I remember rightly it was about reducing the amount of pop up boxes that people complained about, especially the one telling you how to reset the default app. I believe in Android 6.0 there will be even less choice as the apps themselves (like twitter for example) can automatically take over ownership of a link
.
Maybe someone will make an xposed module to change this... On my note 2 i used one because kitkat and jellybean didn't have this really useful function...

something for messed up in your permissions. And screen shot is being blocked. Might need to factory reset. Could be the bank all blocking the screen shots.

I don't understand the permission part since it's only select apps. If it was the bank app I would think it would block my girlfriends app also but it doesn't.
Try using the app named "screenshot touch" available in the playstore for free
http://repo.xposed.info/module/fi.veetipaananen.android.disableflagsecure
Looks like a permission issue. I just had the same issue. I couldn't take screenshot on Brave browser (for you it could be any other app).
I fixed the problem by going to
Settings >> Applications >> Application permissions >> Brave
and enabling the "Use networks" permission.
At first look it seems unrelated but I'm going to assume it might be needed for the picture meta data (exif data).
If this specific permission doesn't do the trick for you, just enable them all for the app and should probably work.
