I rooted my hltevzw 5.0 which has a locked bootloader with CMF 4.4... I'm on 5.0. That resulted in my entered a boot loop after corrupting my recovery partition. I flashed another file that got me back in the phone... but I don't have the stock 5.0 recovery and every custom recovery for this phone is 4.4.
Can anyone who used the yemen or dr.android root for 5.0 make me an img.tar that I can flash to fix my seandroid not enforcing error when I try to use stock 5.0 recovery?

Cyberoptics,
It's bad form to post the same request in multiple threads.
You'll probably have to odin back the official OF1 5.0 image and start fresh.
Cheers,
B.D.

YES! The recovery imaged flashed in Odin and I'm looking at my stock recovery.
Why folks told me to re-image my boot partion I have no idea... the recovery image is a whole different partition than the data... absolutely no reason to lose data.
Thanks again aaroon!

Ok no problem, but please don't flash any custom recovery (ClockworkMod/TWRP) on your note 3, it won't work , the only option is to download " flash fire" if you want to flash the JasmineROM v6.1 or something else.
i'm try but not working on 5.0.

@CL3WL3SS
You are commenting on a thread from March 2016 - a time when boot loader unlocking was not available to retail Note3 phone owners.
There's probably not much point in reviving old threads and correcting folks over points that they could not possibly have been aware of.
But yeah, *now* you can run TWRP in the recovery of an unlocked bootloader phone. They didn't have that option in March.

Ok so I'd like to put AllianceROM on my international version SM-G900F H3G UK model.
To do so, my plan is to downgrade lollipop to 4.4.2 stock, root with TowelRoot, then install the ROM through Mobile Odin Pro (to preserve the KNOX counter). I've just tried to flash 4.4.2 onto the phone, but I cannot get it to start at all after it's flashed. The phone just hangs on the Three (H3G) boot animation.
I'm hoping that I've just got confused with the Sammobile site and that I've just flashed the wrong 4.4.2 firmware (so far tried flashing ANG2 and ANE2). Something I should have checked earlier but I just thought they were updated versions of the same ROM).
If I can't successfully boot into 4.4.2, I'd like to try flashing lollipop to retrieve some files I forgot to backup (another silly mistake). I'm not sure whether I can take files off it through the ADB sideload or whatever but if I have to lose all my data then I'm not too bothered.
What's the best way to go about my situation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So.. hello.
Normally I don't come to forums to get help... but yeah. This is kinda bad.
I've got a little situation here.
I got my new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F).
It was delivered with Stock 5.1.1.
First try:
I booted to the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it download the Autoroot.
Then I've got a bootloop.
Second try:
Booted into the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it install the 5.0.1 Stock ROM (Ending with 'BOB4')
It booted normally , then two things pop up constantly:
Something like "phone.xxxxxxxx.xxx Service crashed".
and "NFC crashed."
So I can't even unlock that phone.
Third try:
Booted into the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it install "N910FXXU1COI3_DevBase_alexndr".
Ended up in a Bootloop.
Then I tried to install the Bootloader aswell as the Modem and the Kernel, which are also in alexndr's Thread.
Ended up in the same Situation as the second try.
I don't no what to do anymore.
I'd really love to hear some help from you guys.

The third attempt was incorrect, that file is to be flashed from a custom recovery.
The second try might be because you did a dirty flash (Need to wipe data)
The first attempt boot-looped because in order to root in 5.1.1 you need a rootable kernel and the latest SuperSU (Not CF-Auto root)(Kernel is found in the Android Development thread)

I've already tried to flash TWRP via Odin, but I've never seen it.
Flashed recovery was for trltexx.
Getting to Recovery should be the same as getting to Download Mode, or?
Anyways. Will try it with tbltetmo and report back.
// Just installed the tbltetmo.
// Can't see how to get into the recovery.
// Am I missing something?
Update:
Just signed up at sammobile and downloaded the BOB6 (4.4 i think) for T-Mobile.
Flashed via Odin.
Seems like it does work again.
Currently its installing like 260 Apps.
Let's see.
// Edit: Nah. It got even worse.
// But I got a Recovery. So that's something.
IT ****ING WORKS NOW
Went into the recovery and cleared cache and data. (Kinda stupid I did not do it inb4)
Do a clean install in Odin. Since it came with stock android 5.1.1, then flash the 5.1.1 stock firmware in Odin. If you have a locked device of a specific carrier it will be even better to use the firmware made for that carrier only. And check the "Nand erase all" option in odin before hitting the start button to flash. That will erase all the data from ur phone and will do a clean install. Your phone must then boot normally. Also note that android 5.0 root file may not work for 5.1. Also check the model number before flashing.
Hi
Im having problems with putting a custom rom on my Note 3 N9005
First I want to mention I am new to all this (NEWBIE) but I have messed around with computers and flashing console for years
Second my phone came to me rooted noticed this when downloading root checker.
(Couldn't tell you anything about it)
So I decided to try put a custom rom on my device as the fact I have been stuck on 4.4.2 since I got the phone
I started by putting a custom recovery using Odin my first attempt was ClockworkMod recovery 6.0.4.8 though every time I tried to boot into recovery it would state "REVOVERY MODE" restart and boot normailly. so I Installed Twrp 3.0.0 and worked:good: boots into it fine made a back up of my rom then cleared system, archive and dalvik/art cache after this I go to install the custom zip file Lordwolf as it goes through the flash the loading bar freezes after saying
"starting armoa installer virsion 2.70rc2 "
"(C) 2013 by amarullz xda-developers"
then just restarts after freezing for about 4 seconds with nothing flashed on the phone.
I have tried a few rom to the same outcome there is no real error just freezes and reboots.
I have tried to look for answer spending a good hour and thats an under statment!!
what am I doing wrong? am I missing something important?
I am having same issue. Mine gets to the part "2013 xda dev.....", freezes in mid-flash and reboots. This has happened with some ROM's such as Touchwiz, darklord and temasek. However the Resurrection Remix worked fine, although I could not get the radio to start working. Any help????

Use TWRP below 3.
Root permission and Custom recovery (PhilZ Touch 6.48.4 or twrp-2.8.7.0) is required
TWRP recovery recommended, 2.8.7.0. Newer versions are not supported
Okay. First of all,you need to update from 4.4.2 to 5.0 official. To do this, open up Odin,go into Download mode and flash this https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/66272/N9005XXUGBPB1_N9005EVRGBPB1_EVR/ ... it's official Lollipop 5.0. This will update your bootloader and modem. After you are done flashing, flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with Odin. After that feel free to flash anything
EDIT: Keep in mind,if you want to flash TW (TouchWiz) based ROMs you can't use TWRP higher than 2.8.7.0. TWRP 3.0 is not compatible with Samsung/TW ROMs. On the other hand,if you decide to flash CyanogenMod based ROM you can flash TWRP 3.0.2.1
You will find the most popular, stable SM-N9005 recovery is TWRP 2.8.7.0 - I would strongly suggest using this one. It is not only less bugs but also many others here use the same and is best for support/queries that arise.
Also, TWRP still offers online live support via freenode.

I've been running on OF1 for a minute and it's Bootloader is locked so I have to unlock everytime using ADB fastboot. As for TWRP I have 2.8.7.0. installed. Flashed like a charm, although I can't get my sms to work now (Aryamod 6.0.1.)
If you have N9005 your bootloader can't be locked. AT&T & Verizon locks their phone's bootloader.

Also,SMS not working should be ROM problem. I personally never had it.

The Verizon note 3 has locked bootloader. Even if the bootloader was unlocked, you can't flash an n9005 bootloader to the Verizon note 3 as Odin won't allow that to happen.
Hello all...I have to first say that I HAVE been reading A LOT before I posted this question but I am somewhat confused. I have an SM-N900V with the following details :
- Rooted with Arabic Tool
- Android 5.0
- Build OF1
- Bootloader unlocked based on instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...l/official-note-3-verizon-bootloader-t3359370
I also have a SM-N900T for which I have been using CWM based recovery for many years and I am very happy with it. But I am not forced to change to the N900V and I have it rooted already but I am having a hard time finding the right recovery for it. I tried a philz CWM based recovery and it ended u getting the unit into a recovery bootloop so I have to flash the stock firmware from scratch and start again.
Can someone save me a few hours, and potentially more reflashes, and tell me which is the right recvery for this unit and how to install it? I am partial to CWM but I have read that it does not work. As long as I can take backups and restore them I am happy with TWRP. I have also read that SafeStrap is the only option. So again, I just need a straight answer so I can get this done.
Your feedback will be much appreciated!
thanks!
Did you mean "now forced" instead of "not forced" in the 2nd paragraph? The use later on of antecedent references such as "it" and "this phone" make it slightly confusing which phone you are talking about.

If you have unlocked the SM-N900V's bootloader, then a bootloop can be remedied by flashing with Odin only the partitions you need fixed, not the entire firmware set. This relieves you from having to re-customize a stock ROM and/or re-root. Moreover and more importantly having an unlocked bootloader means that your phone will no longer require blobs to be Sammy-signed: you can flash custom recoveries with Odin if you please. (You just need to learn how to create the *.tar.md5 files for Odin and you are in business - search for "Odin ustar md5")
So had you know that, you could have just prepared Odin flash tarballs for different recoveries and tried them out according to whim (It is also possible to flash a recovery from the rooted ROM as well, but you need to know how to escape from a perpetual failed recovery boot loop, I.e. : battery pull -> restart with VolDown+Home+Power -> Cancel)
I haven't ever put CWM on my SM-N900V, but can tell you that either the " hlte" or "hltevzw" variants of twrp should work just fine; as you are on OF1 firmware, the -4.4 versions should be used, e.g. twrp-3.0.2-0-hlte-4.4.img or twrp-3.0.2-0-hltevzw-4.4.img
PS Safestrap was the method of choice prior to bootloader unlock methods, and I believe does not work with OB6 or OF1 (possibly also NK1?).

As long as you are rooted and have the bootloader unlocked... Use Flashify to load TWRP which is an excellent recovery and does what you wish.

Rooting process changes system partition and/or boot (kernel) partition.
They both (and recovery partition too) will be reverted back to stock after flashing a stock firmware.
Which version of LP do you currently have?

You definitely can but I cannot say if you should.
It depends on many things.
I think it's a good idea to have the latest firmware if you're just a usual phone user and not interested in rooting and so on.
