Galaxy S4 how to fix/merge partitions? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I just installed Cyanogenmod 12 the other day, runs fantastically on my L720
I noticed my total storage space was lower than normal... (16GB model.)
Ran Terminal "df" command to view partition info and saw this:
Looks like I have duplicate partitions?

Is there a way to restore my partitions to original and regain my storage space?

Your storage looks normal to me.

Shouldn't total space be closer to 16GB?

After the OS installs that's about all you get.
Put an SD card in there.

Thanks guys. Already using a 32GB as card.

How is this storage situation possible?

The math doesn't seem to add up to me but there could be more to it than I just don't see. Does anybody know why I don't have more free space?

backup your stuff manually and do a complete wipe. I lost some 3GB of storage space somehow but a wipe cleared that up. Loaded the same stuff back on and it was 3GB less than before.
I don't think the storage factors in the system or data partitions, which do count towards your total storage space. Try downloading an app called storage analyser. It gives pretty robust information on all partitions.

Available Space on 8GB Nexus 4 ?

The Nexus 7 8GB seems to have (according to screenshots) about 5,9 GB space free for Apps/Media after loss due to formatting and the android system.
Can any1 provide evidence on how much space the Nexus 4 really has left for free use? (screenshot e.g.). I guess for at least 5,5 GB but i would like to be sure before buying.
//EDIT: Screenshot of Nexus 7 http://www.phonearena.com/image.php...memory+and+no+micro+SD+card+slot"&kw=&popup=1
The Nexus 4 has 5.67GB available memory.
The image is attached to confirm this.

I also have 5.67GB of Total Space

Memory Question?

My 16gb model shows 12 GB total space. Is this a bad factory format or normal?

It's correct. Formatted space is always less than listed. It even warns you about that on the order page. It's just how it works
From Google's order page: "16 GB internal storage (actual formatted capacity will be less)"
OK thanks, My 32gb tablet shows much closer to 30gb total hence my question.

Note that the system and stock apps reside on that 16GB. It is not 16GB of free space, it is 16GB total.

[Q] [SOLVED] Low internal space issue

Never mind I found a souluton. Cwm went crazy and created almost 10 backups which I didn't saw last time.

Storage Question

Hey y'all I was wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with the internal storage. When I enter the menu for storage it says the 6.2 GB of misc files but when I tap it it uses the stock file manager. I don't see any files in there that come close to that. I can't find it with a root browser either. I'm just wondering.

Thanks LeftyGR. Damn that seems like an awful lot of memory space. My last phone didn't use that much.
