WIFI reconnect issue on standy

Hi all,
I noticed on my i5800 (WIFI only, no data/3g) that when the phone is on standby, and you arrive home it doesn't reconnect to your home WIFI automatically (still on standby).
I had this issue on kyrillos 9.6
I suspected the deep-sleep mode had to do with it, so here's what I changed to get it fixed.
in build.prop :
pm.sleep_mode=1 (kyrillos setting)
change to
pm.sleepmode =2
This helped my issue.
Maybe this can lead to some more battery drain, but I find it more important that WIFI reconnects automatically when phone is on standby.
At first I thought the problem was caused by wifi supplicant scan, but even after the timer value WIFI didn't reconnect, so that wasn't the cause.
Maybe I can help some people on custom roms with this.
(edit) still not completely solved.....work ongoing...will report soon.

Push notification delay on wifi when screen is off (like whatsapp,gmail messages etc)

Before buying Lg g2 i had this problem on my nexus 4,whenever my g2 is connected to my home wifi network and my screen is off , i recieve push notifications with a delay ,sometimes 2 minutes ..somtimes 10 minutes ..so it varies , as soon as i press the power button to switch the screen on , all my whatsapp notifications which were stacked up, arrive in one go , i have this problem only on wifi , on 3g it works flawlessly ,there is no such delay
I have this problem on problem on my stock 4.2.2 rom
And also on any custom rom i use , currently am on houstonn's 4.4.2 rom
Any workaround guys ?

In your Advanced Wi-Fi Settings, is "Keep W-Fi on during sleep" set to Always? (You get there from the Wi-Fi screen, click the Menu Button and select Advanced Wi-Fi).
Not sure if this will help because of your other symptoms but it's somewhere to start.
Edit: DD's solution sounds more to the point, but requires root.

I have the same problem.
I receive notifications from 2 minutes up to 30 minutes later.
When Im charging my phone, notifications are not delayed at all, not even for one second
I use nexus 4 kitkat, not rooted, stock
I have turned off Wifi Optimization and now notifications arrive usually with 30 seconds delay which is OK for me, but the battery now drains faster

Push is blazing fast on my G2. I do have wi-fi optimizer enabled as well as wi-fi enabled in sleep mode.
Is turn wifi off during sleep enabled? I thought it kicked over to 4G if so.
I am on stock G2, unrooted. I experience this using 4G. On WiFi, I haven't noticed it yet.

Wifi sleep policy not working after android 5.1....

No one in this world can fix the wifi sleep policy? (or only my two phones have this problem? :crying: )
My wifi stays on all the time... setting config to never on advanced changes notting...
Another irritating bug is:
My wifi not reconnects while screen is off. (out of range disconnection)
I need to turn screen on, to get wifi working...
To test is simple: turn screen off and go out off wifi range, return to wifi range... turn on the screen it will reconnect...
I tested all cm 12.1 and cm 13 builds and unnofical ones... no one works...
Someone help!! Sorry about the despair tone of post but it's driving me nuts...
