hey guys
Just wanna know if your camera can take pictures of straight lines without it being crooked in the pic. For some odd reason mines does take pictures of straight lines crooked. For example on my 3ds xl. The top hinge line is crooked but in reality it's straight.
Wow that's interesting. Have you tried different modes? And does that only happen at the edge of the screen?

I'll try on mine in a little and I'll report back.
This been posted before I believe in the regular s7 edge forums

Interesting. Mine does the same thing. Mode doesn't matter. Position on the screen doesn't matter.

My homebutton will sometimes double click when I just click once, which makes the carkit menu come up. This will happen like once a day. Anyway to resolve this?
mine kept doing this, drove me mad!i just disabled the button altogether , job done lol
Is there a fix beside that?

I had the same issue. Seems like the home button isnt the best built like the iPhone.
I had mine replaced by a whole new front panel (Included a new screen as well, which was good since I had 1 dead pixel)
Best bet is to get it replaced.
how's the new screen treating you? I need to get mine replaced because of blotches and lines, =(

The new screen is working just fine (knock on wood). Although its not as bright as my original screen at the same brightness level setting. But thats a very small marginal difference.
My home button is still doing this. Should I return my phone to get it replaced?..
Just figured out that I still had the plastic on the home button never knew it was there before because it is really hard to see. I but I peeled it off and my home button is a lot better now. I suggest anyone else having problems and doesn't realize it is there to peel it off.

Mine does this every once in a while, not enough for it to be a real problem though. The thing that's more annoying is when my back button double backs. I have to be real careful with it.
it really annoys me that you can't disable this 'feature'. Forced me to root to get rid of it.
I recently noticed a rather large smudge at the bottom of my screen
http://i.imgur.com/9lbMd.jpg
It does not go away no matter how much I wipe the screen.
Not sure if I caused this or if it came like that.
It is only noticeable when I use the device outside or shine light on it.
Does anyone else have anything like this?
I believe thats the oleophobic coating coming off. Have seen it a few times on here. Did you buy it from the play store or a retailer. Regardless they should let you swap it out for this issue. Use a screen protector on the new one.
It's the coating, it looks bad though. What have you been using to clean the screen? Cleaners with ammonia aren't good for the screen and if you're constantly using a sleeve it can wear through it as well.
Thanks, guys

I have not been using any liquid cleaners, just my breath and a microfiber cloth (and sometimes my t-shirt)
I have the same issue. here is picture of mine. Did you send your device for excahnge/repair?

I also too have this problem but for me personally, i'm not going to return it. I simply cannot be bothered going through RMA again!

those lines you see without the spots are just were the finger passed and cause some light refraction that doesn't enable to see spots in there but THEY ARE THERE ALSO! After you clean the tablet they are there also..
And when you clean your tablet you don't see no spots at all, only with a strong light pointed at it.. But the thing is.. the tablet can be like this from the factory/shop and you won't notice when you open the box.. just a few days later.. Be carefull with that..
---------- Post added at 06:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:47 PM ----------
As you can see, when the tablet is clean...
theres was no chance to see the spots when unboxing.
I'm having the same problem. The spot will not go away with any amount cleaning but it's not annoying enough to replace.

If it is the protective coating coming off then aggressive cleaning would only make it worse over time. I would suggest getting a screen protector to try and prevent it from getting worse, it's a good idea to use one anyway.
I've taken over replacing a screen on a DX from someone who said, "a part fell out" and he doesn't know from where.
I've assembled the phone, and the buttons light up but the screen doesn't.
Anyone know where this piece (front and back pix) should go and if it's the missing link?

Look in the top left or right, it appears to be a sensor of some sort (proximity or ambient light sensor maybe?)
Its definitely a sensor.
Here check this out.http://www.powerbookmedic.com/manual.php?id=152
Youll have to find pics or video of a fully assembled board. Thats your best bet.
Search for electrical schematic?
Hope the video helps. Theres a bunch of em in that link.

OK, not a sensor! It's the camera button, I'm pretty sure. It just happened to me too! I can't get it back on though

Got it! I circled where it goes!
A reddit user named xtentual removed his back cover by simply prying it off. It does not appear to be glued to the midframe, and the battery seems easily replaceable. See imgur gallery below.

Think there will be an issue putting a metal plate there to use the magnetic mount with?

According to the OP over at the reddit thread, there is next to no space between the back cover and the battery/midframe. I havne't taken apart my 5x, so I wouldn't know for sure.
Amazing news... Phone will have more longevity of I can easily replace the battery in a year
OP, reporting in!

I bet there'd be a buldge but wonder how much? Don't mind a small one if it means not having to run a case. Guess I'll have to open and find out...

Dear XDA,
I heard that the s7 and the s7e sometimes have gray bars on the display after months of use. Are these troll posts or is this a well documented issue?
They're definitely not troll posts. No widespread issue either. There are only a dozen isolated cases I came across on various internet platforms.
grey horizontal lines!
they are over 100 units of s7 edge with that problem!
I had it... took it back and they swapped it no problem. Not widespread, but it's a known issue.
Major disaster on s7 edge Exynos SM-G935F after 3 months. Vertical colour lines running the right side of screen. Phone heats up to 41c. Battery drains to 80% in half an hour then screen starts flashing.
No warranty in u.s.a. A real goatf**k. Will never buy another Sammy product again. Have many cheap phones that never die.
Took the phone completely apart and back together without resolve. Anyone interested in seeing pics of the operation? Lol
Yes! Please!

How it is not wide-spread if it is a known issue!!!!!!!!!???????

Strongly recommend not doing this. Make no mistake you will shatter the back glass. Even with heat and careful removal. Only when you have nothing to loose in this case. Lol
I took my s7 edge apart and put it back together. It work just fine. The one thing u must have patients.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
True! In this case it's best to destroy it.
Removed and reconnected the little display cable
to no avail. Still not sure if it's a bad display or what. Even Sammy doesn't know what is causing the note 7 disaster.
Still using it however as a hand warmer. Just in time for winter.
well with those lines in it u would have to buy screen for it and they are not cheap.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I figured that it would be the screen but checked the display cable just in case. Well back to the reliable moto g that took the blurry pictures. SAD day. Lol still better than iPhone. Haha.
BTW, when the screen is off the phone runs cool even when running apps. Must be a short in the screen heating it up.
Found a complete solution here.
Works like a charm.
