Hi there,
1. Rooted my phone using ioroot
2. Installed TWRP using AutoRec
3. Rebooted into Recovery
4. Mistakenly wiped everything from my phone using TWRP
5. Pushed CM13 and GApps to my phone using ADB
6. Tried to installed both simultaneously using the TWRP queue option (CM13 first in the queue)
7. Phone rebooted, LG Logo displayed and went to constant black screen after 1 second
8. Can not access recovery mode anymore
9. ADB doesn't recognize the phone anymore
10. I still can access Download Mode using the Vol Up button and plugging the phone to PC using USB cable.
11. Can not install stock ROM using LG Flash Tool. It crashes when reading phone information
12. However the LG Support Tool seems can recognize my phone with Software Version: D80230C and it seems that the "Upgrade Recovery" button works in "Options" menu of it (but canceled it as it downloads 1.6 GB ROM).
So:
1. Seems that I have wiped recovery from my phone
2. Download Mode accessible
3. ADB unusable
Any possibility to push TWRP to my phone without ADB but with Download Mode?
It's new year holidays in Iran and there's no repair center open here.
Heya,
Got in a really huge pickle myself yesterday by installing a bootstack, plus I wiped everything as well. Lost the recovery and LG logo showed for a sec when booting. Fortunately I got it to work again and I'm sure you can too.
So here's what you do:
1. (may not be necessary) Check if your phone is in fastboot mode after the 1 sec boot logo and also if you connect your phone with the PC will you see a lot of partitions. If yes then get yourself the handy tool called SRKTool. Open it up, choose "4" to go to fixing options, then choose "5" to unbrick and choose your model. Next just look at what they write you.
2. Get yourself a "LGD802AT-00-V10b.....tot" tot file which you can find in the forum.
3. Watch the video explaining how the process works and also download the required files mentioned in the video description "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJtcPNklrfw".
4. After following the video you will hopefully have a working phone with android 4.2.2.
5. The rest is up to you; flash a KDZ Lollipop ROM and using SRKTool to root and put TWRP to use that or flash CM13.
To sum it up, there is a way out of this problem.
Good luck!

Hi guys,
Long-time phone rooter/XDA reader, first time posting.
It seems I have finally come across a problem I can't fix by insane amounts of googling and trial&error.
I am currently on some Kitkat custom ROM variant with CWM 6.0.4.4
I'm looking to get back to stock, but my download mode refuses to open. Its stuck at the blue dots screen. (attached picture for clarity)
I've let it sit there overnight, with no change.
I've attempted to use the LGMobile Tool (even this method), but when it reboots my phone, the phone sits on the "LG" screen, and the LG tool eventually errors out ("communication error").
Recently, I managed to back myself into a corner after (incredibly idiotically) accepting an OWA, when my recovery was corrupt, and my download mode would not even open then - and i had to use some bizarre method of commands in Linux to be able to get TWRP on, then flashed CWM and them my ROM.
So what can I do now? I'm assuming my download mode is corrupt - is there a way to flash a good download mode onto the phone?
Any thoughts/input greatly appreciated.
edit:
Ok looks like I have understimated myself.
I used THIS tool to extract my KDZ, to get the LAF file (then renamed it to laf.img)
I then used the instructions from HERE to flash to the correct place.
It did not reboot into download like the thread said it would, but I did a manual download mode entry (while off, hold Volume Up + insert USB) and viola!
I am now currently using the LGMobile tool to go back to stock

Hey thanks for the post. My download mode will not go past the 5 blue dots screen. I am trying to return to stock but I get the same download mode error. I am rooted and have TWRP installed. This download mode error has happened before. I fixed it by flashing CM and then going into download mode and it worked! But my TWRP is getting an error when installing any rom. It fails and installation and says error executing updater binary. I just need to fix download mode or TWRP. Any help would be great.
Did you already have recovery installed when you were stuck at the 5 dots download mode screen?
How to Connect in ADB ?

Have a look at this thread at YU - http://forums.yuplaygod.com/threads...6-0-for-yureka-arm64-flashable-lollipop.8630/
If you can enter fastboot mode, you can simply flash the TWRP recovery and then do root your phone. You can even try factory reset and see if you can boot again into your ROM. If can't, then you would need to flash whole CM12S ROM via fastboot mode. Here is the link for the CM12S ROM to be flashed in fastboot mode only -
http://builds.cyngn.com/cyanogen-os...cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-signed-fastboot.zip
Warning : Do not even dare to think to go back to or use anything from CM11s. Hit thanks if it helped. Good luck!
been there, and recovered.
this is what I think you need to do to recover:
download
1) dr ive .google . com/file/d/0B0_IwOvcRE4gcnNHcF9wNDcxRGs/view
2) docs. google. com/file/d/0B0_IwOvcRE4gcUpnSmVjdDAzOE0/view
3) drive. google. com/file/d/0ByDCheN6iyw0WEpveWJoTnRiWnc/view
Steps to follow:
1) extract zip (1) and (2) in the same folder
2) power off your phone completely- if in doubt, pull out and reinstall battery.
3) place zip (3) in the root of your sd card of phone, and put the sd card back into the phone.
4) connect the phone in fastboot mode, and run "flash-all.bat"
(If it asks you to unlock your bootloader, do so by following the onscreen instructions.)
5) after process is complete, power on your phone after disconnecting.
6) let it boot up for a while, say 20 mins. this step may be skipped.
7) boot into recovery mode, and click on apply update.
8) navigate to the folder with zip (3) in it, and apply it.
9) if it gives an error, wipe cache and retry.
10) after process finishes, power on phone and let it welcome you to lollipop.
cheers!
I made a mistake and I am hoping to avoid finding a jtag service to help me out.
Phone LG G2 D801 - T-Mobile
OS Android 4.2 factory load
I made a huge mistake, I recently downgraded my OS from lollipop back to jellybean using kdz files. I went to install twrp on this device and found an installer on the google play store called (D801) LG G2 AutoRec-Lollipop. My mistake as I was so used to running lollipop instead of jellybean that I installed this:
Now when I rebooted I currently go into a boot loop and never get past the LG screen. I also can not get into download mode using the volume up key/usb cable combo, it just gives me a LG prompt/boot loop. I can get into twrp (recovery mode) but can not install any custom rom, it fails. I tried running the following commands and they fail saying I have no space available.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Since I have little on this device I wiped the data which did not help. I also tried repair permissions and this did not help.
When I plug my phone into my pc I get a drive mapping and can copy files to the /sdcard directory but any zip I put in their I can not install from twrp. The command adb devices gives me no device found. I think this is because I am not in usb developer mode so I do not see how I can side load a new twrp .
At this point I just want a working android on this phone. my goal going into this was to load cm12 but if the stock load is my only option then I will go back to that.
Mike
Why not try the flash tool and a kdz install again?
I had an issue with TWRP causing screen burns and no boot.
I turned off my phone by holding power button at least for 10- 15 seconds & then press the volume up & connect USB cable connected to your PC
Flash tool + KDZ = Unbricked Phone.
This should help most people.
I know this response is too slow, but hey I am not tech support
If in in the USA I got my brick fixed for $20 on eBay. I was stuck in the same scenario.

This is a much easier way to flash a new recovery and custom roms. Besides using a PC / USB cable for unlocking the bootloader, all the process can be done straight from your device.
IMPORTANT: This procedure is only valid for LG G6 H872. Other G6 variants will end up bricked. All partitions will be wiped, this means that all the files needed must be saved to your external SD. It’s been tested with 20g firmware.
Prerequisites:
LG G6 device with original Oreo 20g firmware and fully charged
External SD card
Download and install su98.apk, Root Checker and Flashify
Download this specific TWRP version and save it to your external SD
Download Magisk and save it to your external SD
(Optional) Download latest TWRP to flash A10+ custom roms and save it to your external SD
0. Backup everything
1. Unlock your bootloader, otherwise you will brick your device. You can follow this guide.
2. Disable Google Play Protect (from PlayStore) or you won't be able to go on with the next step
3. Install su98.apk, open it and tap INSTALL NOW (leave the checkbox blank)
4. Install Root Checker and open it to verify that your device is rooted
5. Install Flashify and open it to flash TWRP (recovery_h872_20180813-1.img)
6. Turn off the phone (at this point, if the phone boots to Android you will have to start over from step 3).
7. Reboot into recovery (press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons together for a few seconds. When the LG logo appears, release the Power button while keep pressing the Volume Down and then press the Power button once more. Once you see a white screen, use Volume keys to choose "Yes" and Power button to select the option, you will have to press “Yes” twice).
8. Once in TWRP (be patient, takes some time to load) a “decrypt data” legend will appear. Press cancel. Then swype to allow system modifications. After that, go to Wipe / Format data and confirm by typing yes.
You are now able to flash any Stock ZIP (not KDZ). If this is your choice, remember to flash Magisk after flashing the ROM. If you want to flash any other custom ROM, jump to the next step.
9. Still in TWRP, flash Magisk to keep your device rooted
10. Flash the latest TWRP. Go to reboot options and tap Recovery
11. Once in the new TWRP, wipe system, data, dalvik, cache
12. Flash Rom + Gapps + Magisk and reboot to system

LG G6 H872 back to stock Oreo 20g
IMPORTANT: All partitions will be wiped, this means that you must backup everything otherwise you’ll lose everything stored in the phone.
Prerequisites:
LG G6 device fully charged
USB cable
LG Mobile driver installed
Patched LG UP installed in the right folder (otherwise your device will not be recognized)
LG G6 H872 latest Oreo firmware (20g)
0. Backup everything.
1. We are going to flash this using the patched LG UP. Place the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP. You can't just unzip it anywhere and run it, it will not find the model file.
2. Boot to download mode (power off your Phone. Plug one end of the USB cable to PC and while holding the Volume Up button connect the other end of the cable to your device. Release the Volume button once the device boots into Download Mode. To exit the Download Mode, press and hold the Power button until the device reboots)
3. Open LG UP and wait until the device model is recognized. Then choose partition DL
4. Pick the H872 20g KDZ and click start / ok
5. You’ll now get a list of partitions to flash, check them all and click start / ok
6. You may get a warning about additional modified partitions. Ignore it, and click ok
7. When the process is finished, the device will reboot
If the progress bar reached 100% and the device got stuck in the pink bootanimation, follow these steps:
Unplug the device and turn it off by holding Volume Down + Power (keep holding them down until it turns off)
Once the device is off, press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons together for a few seconds. When the LG logo appears, release the Power button while keep pressing the Volume Down and then press the Power button once more. Once you see a white screen, use Volume keys to choose "Yes" and Power button to select the option, you will have to press “Yes” twice.
The phone will now restore factory defaults and reboot to system
IMPORTANT
In case camera crashes when opening or you get an IMS error, you'll have to flash H87211h_00_0406.kdz (same procedure as above from step 0 to 7, just changing step 4 where you need to pick H872 11h KDZ), reboot to system (until you finish the initial wizard) and then flash H87220g_00_1228.kdz (again, same procedure from step 0 to 7).

Works like a charm. Thanks
FYI, Going back to full working stock need to return to Android 7 firmware 1st (H87211h_00_0406.kdz); otherwise, you will get camera and IMS error.
Questions:
Does SkyHawk Recovery support stock firmware as TWRP can't backup and restore stock properly.

Worked here when getting back straight to stock 20g, but good to know for those with issues.
I didn't test any custom recovery to backup stock, so I don't know about that.
Thanks for reporting!
Has anyone else used this recently? I cannot get the phone to boot to recovery at step 7. I've tried:
1) press vol- and pwr until the LG logo appears, release power, and press it once more
2) same as 1) above, but pressing power button multiple times to get through the "your phone can't be checked for security stuff" warning
Both times, it just boots straight to Android.
EDIT: Using adb reboot recovery worked!
Yeah, it works @zolotiyeruki
Check the vídeo in the first post for more details with the whole procedure.

To follow up on this, I believe it's flagged because it is the exploit to get root that is seeing.
So it seems it's getting recognized by the anti-virus correctly and it's the desired functionality of the .apk.
(Anyone feel free to chime in to correct this if it's inaccurate.)

hello Magisk no longer provides a downloadable zip to flash with twrp. that and for some reason i cant seem to get twrp to stick after flashing ive followed the instructions as exactly except for not installing magisk via twrp. i tried to install magisk via the manager after flashing twrp the first time and wiping data after that i am givin the option to reboot to system which i tried first and was not able to boot back into twrp. after doing everything from step 1 to finish all over i tried staying to flash the latest twrp before returning to system but seeing as how i dont have any gapps or roms or a flashable zip for magisk i just rebooted to system after flashing and still could not return to twrp..... i need help how do i get twrp to stick around after reboot, and how am i supposed to install magisk properly without the flashable zip? i seem to need a copy of my current boot.img so i can patch it with magisk and flash it with fastboot, how do i do this?

Download latest Magisk APK, rename it to ZIP and flash it through TWRP.
So I had a OnePlus 5 laying around and decided to flash pixel experience with twrp and everything was fine until I decided to update ota. Then it took me to twrp but it wouldnt let me do anything. It was just stuck in the loading screen. So I managed to reflash twrp and got it working again with factory reset but then whenever I went into twrp it never asked for a password even tho I had one. I also tried backing up but it kept failing so I took a chance and saw a video on how to flash derpfest so I wouldn't have to deal with its problems again and so I followed the instructions and downloaded the ROM to the device and wiped everything except the internal storage and USB storage so I could flash the ROM but when I attempted to flash the ROM it wasn't there. I just had a bunch of files with different names and so I attempted to adb sideload oxygen os and it looked like it worked but when I was about to reboot it said there was no os even tho I flashed it so I took a chance and rebooted. Now I have no os recovery or bootloader and I keep getting a bootloop with the OnePlus logo. Am I screwed and if anyone can plz help
Your device does not fail anything, it just needs some more software. Follow my guide and your device is fixed in 10 minutes. Download the drivers on your pc. If you do not know how to do then open readme file. Run MSM some admin and set settings currect. Connect your phone to PC with USB. Press power and vol - an vol + buttons on same time. Look on PC new device registered. It's normal your phone s screen is black. Start MSM and select download mode and unbrick tool. Wait long time and your phone os is reinstalled. Official OnePlus tool.

Try to reflash recovery via fastboot. Then reboot in recovery. Connect device to your PC. If the device is not shown on your PC, enable mtp in recovery settings. Copy your ZIP-file to flash to your phone. Install it from recovery, reboot.
The important thing is to get a working recovery. If you can boot in a recovery, your phone is still working.
Just follow this. You can get your phone back to stock
