Today I got my 1st OTA update on my AT&T Samsung S7 phone
Yeah what is this? says device security improvement?
Just got the update as well.
I also got it. Was listed as a security update. Must be related to this. Was a 42MB download. Took about 15 minutes to download, restart my phone and apply. Didn't see any release notes.
All I can find is security updates and it changed base band from APB5 to APC2
Whe. I check the android security patch level it still says February 1st after I did the OTA update so I don't think we got March update yet

My Android security patch level also says February 1st, but my kernel version says March 10th: 3.18.20-7193387. Security Enhancements for Android also say March 10th: 6.0.1_0004.
Ok so I guests we did get March updates then hmmm

Well with the 1st OTA update from AT&T/Samsung only after haveing it for a few days now am hoping that this is a step in the right direction has far has OTA upgrade go hopefully we get them a lot faster this year the. In past years

Go to Time and date settings, turn off automatically set date and time, then set the date one day ahead. You should be able to check for the update.
Well I updated without re-enabling all my apps within Disabler Pro app. So far so good. I probably should have re-enabled based on other comments I've read... who knows.
I just updated as well.

My phone is half way thru this update and its like a hot potato rn. Anybody else having heat issue?
that's normal. Phone is working hard to update the phone. Could someone PLEASE upload a picture of the DOWNLOAD mode screen after update. I will greatly appreciate it
Was holding off on this update all day then boom my phone just randomly decided it was gonna do the update without my discretion.. kinda make you think what was actually being patched

HTC india server already has 2.1 update for HTC hero updated. My friend set the date to 10th july and it came up with a 4mb OTA first and now setting date to after 25th is giving a 75mb update.... I guess this should be the case in other countries as well..

The update is going on.... he is at work now and on EDGE downloading it.... damn slow.... so have told him to take a pic and upload it..... will post it as soon as i get it...

I just set my date, but is there any "check for update" function? Or i have just to wait?
Connect to a WiFi or 3G/EDGE/etc. network and wait. That's what they told me from HTC.

ask him to change the date to start with to July 10. --> wifi on - change date - he should get a popup. I did. once it done downloading -- it rebooted and I got a pop up for system upgrade.
This is surprising. But I guess it's just the usual Western arrogance, to think Europe would be prioritized over the east. HTC is a Asian company after all.
Aight folks. It's over. we have 2.1 on our hero Just follow the date method and am sure its gonna workout. Also ensure you have some space for the download to install. If you have too many apps, just delete some.
I still don't see the voice functions though....its been only minutes, let me play around.
just tried this for SEA and it works! set the date to July 10 and the first package was downloaded and installed. Once the device reboots it will automatically check for the 2nd package, which is the 2.1 update! (downloading it now )

Nothing here also. Let's hope it'll be released in EU tomorow.
This morning, I turned it on and found that there was a security update. I thought Samsung had completely abandoned it and was going to disable automatic update check.
Perhaps I hoped too much. I was hoping that the version would go up from 5.0.2 to 5.1, but the version remained the same. The only changes I have found are
1. Security Patch Level is now 2016-11-01
2. System Panel does not show process names any more.
Well, at least they have not completely abandoned it yet.... or have they?
No update here, but if true, that's quite a positive surprise!

The security update doesn't change the Android version. Try Smart Switch or the sammobile website!
The update is currently hitting units in India. Arriving as version NPJ25.93-11, it brings along Android version 7.0 and also bumps the security level to November 1. The update is being rolled out in batches, so it may take time before your device gets it.

I had updated my XT1643 with the file containing security patch 1 october .now i found another fioe with security patch 1 november.but when i tried to ipdate my device from the recovery mode and select update from.sd card it says sd card not mounted .plz tell me whats the izsue with my device???

You Might have flashed the previous soak test file that is with the build number of NPJ25.75-2. the current update which now rolling out is of NPJ25.93.11. since you have already flashed the previous Nougat OTA you cannot flash the latest one unless you phone bootloader is unlocked and ready downgrade to MM
Better wait for some time some one might have solution for this.

I think the mm is better this nougat.... Bcz battery draining not fast...and the update 7.0 is not for heavy gaming like MC4, Nova3 etc..when I play heavy games lagging start..

here's the March 2017 security patch if you're comfortable with sideloading. You don't need to unlock the bootloader to sideload an OTA update. It will bring the build number to NPNS25.137.24.1-4.

Yeah i know but earlier i had moto g4 plus of same retin channel, i updated it with brazil's retin channel android 7.0 and found later that company OTA not arrived for any other updates..for that i had to revert back to India's stock 6.0 rom.

It's now the 27th of August when I typically have an update by the 8th. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or is it just me? Phone is on stock ROM and never been rooted.

The August update came with the Oreo update for me (not project Fi though as UK based). Android 8.0.0 Security patch August 5th

I just got my 3rd replacement phone from Google ( Friday) and it received the August patch and it is on N. The phone it replaced was on N and I could not get the update to show.
I replaced my Nexus 6P last week and it also got stuck on the July update.
I forced it to update by wiping Google Play Services, then searching for an update again, and there it was.
Maybe try that?

Just got my replacement and enrolled it in the beta program in order to get Oreo with the August update delivered straight to it. Without enrolling it was just offering patches to Nougart.

Official images are up now, but exclude TMo/Fi. Some have already manually updated. If you're looking update, just do it manually and don't flash the new modem. Just stay on the radio you are on now. If you are bootloader locked and on TMo/Fi then you probably will have to wait.

I'll just wait for the OTA to be pushed. I was just surprised that they decided to hold off on an August security update completely and wanted to see if I was alone or not.
