[PICTURES]Problem can't access bootloader and stuck on"FORMATTING DATA" - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a factory reset on m friend's nexus 7. I can access bootloader before because I flashed a factory image of Lollipop 5.1(4.4.4 before) then relocked it. But my friend decided to sell it and wants to erase everything in it so I factory resetted it in settings. But its already two hours and its still on erassing. I pressed vol up and power while on that screen and it is stuck on formatting data. I tried holding power button to power it off but instead it goes back to "google" logo then erasing screen. I tried powering down again by holding 10sec and after it goes black I immediately released power button and quickly pressed and hold it again together with vol down to access fastboot mode but it goes to google then erasing again. Anyone has a solution? My friend will surely get mad on me and it is already out of warranty. I never happened with my Nexus 5 before

this screen has been up for 20 mins. Whats going on. who else has this issue. I may have lost signal during this time. What are my options
Just turn it off and on you hit volume down
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
You entered download mode. Just hold the power button for a few seconds. Make sure you dont hold any vopume buttons down when you turn it on in the future.
Assuming you where not trying to flash anything, it seems you entered the download mode by accident.
Most devices have button sequences that can be used at startup to enter various parts of the bootloader. You entered the one that is used to flash new kernals and roms to the tab (Power + Vol Down). Nothing has happened or will happen to your tab in this screen unless you are connected to a computer and using software to flash.
The second screen comes when you turn on the device and hold the vol up key. This is known as recovery and can be used to do backups of your device as well as flash new roms (with custom recoveries.) However, you can totally bork (to take a word from Ganj) your tab from this screen, so be weary if you ever enter this mode by accident.
Hope this is helpful!

Nexus 7 2013 bootloop and black screen in bootloader

Hi. Today I was running Gekbench 3 on my Nexus 7 and it froze up and shut down. When I turned it back on the boot animation froze, and it rebooted. When I try to get into the bootloader it goes to a black screen. I cant get the Nexus Toolkit to recognize it. Does anyone else have an idea. Im rooted, and am using TWRP recovery mode.
By bootloader, do you mean when you power up while holding down the Vol- button? (I'm shamefully borrowing someone else's image.)

Do you get USB notification sounds when you connect and disconnect your N7 to a PC? If you're familiar with using fastboot, does it recognize that there's a device connected?

I have fixed it by myself.
Using Fastboot mode and typed by "fastboot continue". Luckily I could get in the recovery mode so it could be wiped out and rebooted as factory reset. Now I am using it without a problem.

Looking for help Recovering a T510 (A3LSMT510) 128 GB

Hi, a while back, i tried following a loose guide on this forum, trying to root my Tab A T150. I cant really remember what steps i took or what my actions were but, I remember getting TWRP to run, but being unable to read the file system and also being unable to flash anything using TWRP. I then proceeded to reboot my device, only to get greeted with this screen

repeated by a shutdown loop with this screen, no matter what button combination i tried, i could not get it to display anything else. I am just looking to get back into android OS. I don't have any firmware backups but it should have been the latest firmware version.
Plug the cable into the PC but not the tablet. Turn the tablet off. While pressing both vol up and down, plug the cable into the tablet and wait for the green screen. Follow the instructions to relock the bootloader. That should reset the tablet, delete TWRP and put you back into the stock ROM.
What you probably skipped the first time around was formatting the data partition. Not wipe but format. That removes the encryption from the data partition and allows you to flash a custom ROM. You need to do that the first time it boots to TWRP.

So is my Galaxy tab bricked?

I was messaging a work colleague and the messenger got frozen on half of the screen. I thought it was a video error that would go away on reset so I tried resetting in long tablet mode (sorry I am not using the correct terms) and I couldn't hit the reset button because it appeared BEHIND my facebook messenger. I was able to access it in portrait mode though. So I reset but now my screen has junk all over where the messenger was. I tried to get into factory reset but the options are behind the junk. I tried to guess where the option was and ended up clicking the update button instead and now I'm just sat here with my screen looking like this.

So what can be done?
Boot into recovery mode. Factory reset.
If you can't either the firmware is corrupted and needs reflashed or it's a hardware failure. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Yeah i did the factory reset through guesswork and its still there. I don't even know how to begin reflashing.
I am in ecuador and have no access to reliable shops.
Did the recovery screen display normally?
Nope
