Thanks [emoji6]

The only way of using DT2W is to flash a custom kernel or roms, so unless there is some other cheaty way of doing it, I can't help you.

Can't you just flash a custom kernel tho? I'ts pretty easy. I am running Android 5.0.1 with Sabermod franco.Kernel and Xposed, works perfectly. This kernel has DT2W so yeah .

I installed Frank with 5.1 so I wanted to only add dt2w functionality. [emoji23] And find a way not to have to change kernels because I feel that that ROMs usually give their best with their original kernel [emoji6]
It's maybe just a placebo effect
Hi people,
With the recent announcement of @pedestre (creator of apolo kernel) that the development of apolo kernel comes to an end and Gustavo kernel does not be updated since a long time, we have no costum kernel for the many 5.1.1 roms that are coming to our phones....
Many people uses bln, cpu and gpu voltages control etc.
I want to ask someone with skils who can compile latest cm kernel, witch i think that will be compatible with all newest 5.1.1 roms, with basiclly feautures like bln and others... and if its possible, keep it update with lates cm realises....
Thanks, i hope some dev can help us
Yes, we need kernel developers
Maybe @Resync , @stelistcristi , @chhapil or @warrior1208 ?
Here is tutorial: How to build Gustavo kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54997129

Always been considering to build a kernel, especially porting dorimanx to lollipop. Having trouble on ubuntu with dorimanx's instructions, so I will try bbqlinux instead and see how it goes.

I can develop if @pedestre can give me the permissions to let me continue Apolo. Although, I'll do that and all the other ROMs' building stuff after 6th of June.

I'm sure he would give you persmission to do that.
Right now I'm cloning my repo of dorimanx kernel. Have made a few changes like chhapil (except no uber tc yet). I'll see if I can release something next week (however will be very busy with exams). I'm still very new at building kernels so expect a few quirks with the kernel.

Should be alright since android kernel is open source.
This thread is already awsome!
Yes please LL Kernel! CM sourced RR for galaxy s2 gt i9100 needs kernel!
Developers please come forward we beg you!
@warrior1208 Instead of continuing a Kernel, why not make and develop one yourself and name the kernel yourself as well? It would be nice if there's a new kernel name in our device. Just suggesting here...

Let's see. I'll try. But first, I have to update all the three ROMs and then a custom kernel. Although, as I stated, I'll be able to do that after 6th of June.

I vote for gustavo's kernel since last version of it was just everything i needed. Miss it's colour control very much
I would love to see a TWRP kernel, as I use the file manager to delete unwanted system files on rom updates.
I do think it has a more friendly UI too.
We need 2 type of kernel. One like gustavo_s' and other is like apolo.
One for full control
And other is daily usage and more stable
Or maybe one based on apolo with CPU and GPU OC

I'm pretty sure there not much work needed to get Gustavo's kernel working on newer lollipop builds. Right now, I've made changes to io schedulers, TCP algorithm, supersu. Still have no clue how to get build started, at least there's progress. Change of mind. Will be busy with exams.

Actually no, everything can be done through terminal. That is, indeex, how apolo configurator/stweaks or any other such app works. Just executing commands.
Hi guys i need you to test the performance of this kernel i've made

Please tell me how your Phone performs,if better or worse.
NOTE : I don't know if this is the right section as i'm not sure if this is actually "worth" putting in development section.(waiting for user evalutation)

Of course it boots.
I Have tested on mine and it's blazing fast.I Just wanted make sure it's the kernel and not the mods that i applied to the ROM ^^
The perform with your kernel is the same has cm 12.1 stock kernel and when i install your kernel my wifi dont work im using moke open source rom up to date with the cyanogenmod sources and you can add some cpu governors, faux sound control, simple gpu algorithm.

If it is a kernel, then dont create a normal thread. Create a DevDB project for testing it. Or I will make a DevDB project and give you the credits.

I think it doesn't "reserve" being a project because this is just an experiment i made with a toolchain, also i'm not going to add any feature to it anytime soon.
yes it's working fine and make things better.
Overall a decent kernel to try on.

The kernel posted here just features latest sabermod toolchain instead of Android Stock.
I'm going to work on this when i have time,i'll create a thread and provide you optimized CM and fast kernel..time is my enemy tho

Hi,
I am just looking for TW based ROMs that work with SafetyNet, preferably rooted with Magisk or unrooted. I have tried Magma VX1 on my G900S, that ROM is perfect, however there is a major lag upon a cold boot of the device, making it unusable, and the ROM itself is very very laggy and slow compared to stock AOSP ROMs. I am not hating on the ROM I think it is one of the best ports I have found for my device, it is just very hard to bear with because of the slowness and lag. So, what are my options?
Thanks.

All TouchWiz ROMs will be less smoother than complete stock android. You can't have both And I've read that changing kernel on MagmaROM helps with the slow downs. Around Christmas they'll release VX3 so maybe you should wait for that. Try Magma + Boeffla Kernel. You won't find a better S8/Note8 ROM out there SkiesROM is also good but it's based on the A7 software so you'll miss out on some flagship features.
Hi, thanks for your reply, can you link me to a Boeffla-Kernel port that works on G900S? Thanks.

Not really but you can search around the official thread to see if it's working on the S: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ernel-boeffla-kernel-1-0-beta1-23-03-t3062073
If the S is the same as the F then it will work.
I gave the official Boeffla Kernel for the G900F a go, I flashed it before flashing Magma and I chose do not install the kernel (kernel is preinstalled), however it didn't boot and it came up with Odin Mode and said Could Not Do Normal Boot.

Try flashing the ROM first choosing a random kernel, then when it boots go back to TWRP to install the Boeffla kernel. I've actually seen Boeffla work on Magma on S5. Just it was the F model. Try this way and see then.

So flash the kernel that works with the G900S, complete first boot, and once everything is set up and working go back into TWRP and flash Boeffla? I'll give it a go now.

It's worth a shot xd But if it still doesn't work then maybe this guy has edited Boeffla Kernel to work on Magma so your last bet would be to try from his attachments: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-magma-nx-rom-t3508672/post74246232
If nothing then it just won't work on the G900S, sadly

Good news, I did manage to get it working using a Boeffla Kernel port that someone had ported for a Facebook group for Korean S5 Users, it's working now and it doesn't seem to be lagging anywhere near as much as it did before, it still does lag but I'm assuming that's just TouchWiz at it's finest Hopefully I can still pass SafetyNet as I was able to before (really need it for Snapchat)

Yeah sure, and thanks, but unfortunately I had to go back to Lineage, I found that the ROM is just too laggy for me to use on a daily basis, hopefully VX3 fixes most of the lag.

I thought this is a forum to ask questions like this and the purpose of this forum - especially a q&a thread - is to get answers, not more browsing, because everyone is searching here first for whatever mods, roms, kernels to find the best, the working one, or any new one...? And all of this is based on people who have one minute to post a useful answer here. Maybe I think the wrong way...
I link all I have here.
I currently used Agni on Kate, this seem to have the best charging speed and the battery backup is not much worse than any stock kernel. I tried shadow, this is just not for me and the third one might be useful, I have no reference from that but worth to give it a try if others don't work for you.
I found this radon version, no idea if it is working on pie or not, didn't try yet either.

Does the same with other kernels? Did you try to calibrate your battery? Might be a battery problem anyway as the device is getting older, it is 4 years since released...

I'm on AOSP Extended v4.6 Unofficial build Dec 20 2018, this is a very stable ROM. I couldn't find any bugs so far.
Previously I was using Lineage OS v14.1 with Radon kernel that was also very stable. With stock kernel I was having a battery problem.
