S7 edge processing dubsmash videos very rather slowly. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I noticed that processing a dubsmash video was taking relatively longer compared to my other devices (s6 edge or oneplus one). I'm not a dubsmash addict but it's just annoying to see the faster phone processing slowly. Can someone please check and tell if it's just my phone or dubsmash is just slow on s7. Thanks.

#Gr33d007 I was searching to get new phone can you please clear it that Samsung galaxy s6 is supporting dubsmash app?

Switching from s6 or s6 edge

Anyone here came to the G4 from the s6 or s6 edge? I have the s6 edge but the battery life is a crazy turn off. The phone overall is wonderful but at the end, I need something that I don't have to charge 3 times a day. Thinking about picking up the h815 to use in cricket in the US (att mvno) but might hold til an update to 5.1.1 that fixes the battery life and multi tasking according to the tmobile 5.1.1 leak.
I had the s6 edge and sold it to get the G4 with T-Mobile.
The S6 edge was laggy and the battery was horrible.
I like the G4 much better.
How's the battery life? My edge isn't laggy really. Heavy lag I only see it on chrome when browsing pages with heavy ads. But system and other apps don't really lag. Even Facebook doesn't lag. Any other input would be greatly appreciated
I had gs6 and its a great phone .feels slippery .Got leather g4 and feels better in hand.speaker sounds a bit louder and better than gs6. Will let you know how's battery life later today

Interested in this as well. I read that battery life is neck and neck and I can only see it improving on the s6 with the cell reception fix with 5.1.
Other than that I really don't know what to choose and that exynos is looking really sexy compared to the snapdragon
I have the S6 Edge and G4 on Tmobile. Battery does seem to be neck and neck which isn't bad since the G4 has a bigger screen and bigger battery. The G4 does have SOME quick charging, just not as quick as the S6. 1 hour charge on s6, 1 hour 30 min on G4. The G4 does win out because it has a replaceable battery so I can go from 0 to 100 battery in about 15 seconds.
The camera on the G4 so far trounces the S6. I posted 25 comparison photos I took yesterday in a different thread. The S6 just doesn't come close. Mind you, I thought the S6 was the best camera on an android phone I ever used....until I got the G4. I do wish G4 would let you auto launch the camera from anywhere if you double press the vol down like the S6 has with the home button.
The S6 does get brighter than the G4. Specially noticeable when you're outside. The S6 has a special super brightness mode that it turns on when you're out in the sun. The S6 also has more video/camera modes than the G4. Such as the wide angle selfie, slo/fast motion video, photosphere, etc. I do find myself missing those on the G4 but I can always get 3d party camera apps to do that.
Performance wise, I really don't notice that much of a difference. I am running 5.1.1 on the S6 which removes the memory leak bug that was present so it isn't as laggy. If the phones aren't side to side then it's hard to tell that the S6 is faster than the G4. The G4 definitely doesn't feel laggy.

You CAN change the double tap feature to just open the camera rather than auto taking a picture

My problem wasn't this. On the s6 you can double tap the home button twice no matter where you are and it goes to camera. On the G4, you can only launch camera with volume button when the screen is off
How does the build quality on the G4 compare to the S6?
Does it have a better speaker than the S6 which I've never been that impressed by on the S6?

Try this app. I haven't tested it with the G4, but it works great with the S6 and other phones. I don't know if it supports double-tap for hardware keys, but it supports long press.

I prefer the LG G4, as the s6 screen is very poor. Whites are very warm. I prefer the cooler colours of the G4. The interface is better with the G4 too. The only problem I have with the LG G4 is the back covering, the leather feels very cheap. Too cheap. Its very rough and hard, not soft leather which I was expecting. The Build quality of the s6 is far superior. Well excluding the home button which feels cheap, even if it does have a finger print reader.
I haven't felt the plastic back cover of the G4. If its similar to the G3, its pretty good. Now I need to decide if I should go for the G4... Decisions!!
Here is the interesting thing. The S6 moved the speaker from the back to the bottom, and it was quite a bit louder. The G4 still has the speaker on the back but it is louder than the bottom speaker S6, to the point I have to keep my volume down being notifications are blistering loud. It's not as loud as front facing HTC M9, but it's louder than the S6
When will people understand the battery issues are related to Android 5.0 and not the phone itself.
The Nexus 6 when initially release had terrible battery battery life and it ran Android 5.0 but when 5.1 was released battery life drastically improve

I never felt that the Nexus 6 had that bad battery life on 5, though it certainly did improve on 5.1.

Because we have lollipop 5.0 on multiple devices without bad battery life. I'm sure it has something to do with it..but with so many devices on 5.0 with good battery (lot of them being Samsung devices) I refuse to believe it's not at least somewhat Sammys fault.
They removed no bloat, only a few select features that I like. It's still loaded with crap. The s6 is nice, but I'm gonna try the g4.

I dispute that my S6 has far less junk software items on it than my S3 did.
So I compared my s6 to the best buy display g4. Granted my s6 is full of verizon crap and the g4 was not..but there was no immediate difference in the speed/smoothness category.
They both looked equally as bright..indoors. pleasant surprise as the G3 was really dim. The g4 has the ability to draw and annotate screen shots..the s6 does not, sadly. The g4 had whiter whites, but the s6 is a touch sharper.
Thr g4 still had the ability to change the color of the folders, but I couldn't look at the themes in LG home because the WiFi wasn't on..I imagine they still suck much like everything in the s6 theme store.
Overall, the g4 felt fantastic, I just wish thr keyboard was better. I've always preferred Stock keyboards, and my note 3 had the best one to date (for me)

Yes there is an option to stop the initial picture.
G4 is too big. If it was smaller maybe but the fact of the matter is that its a phablet.

Well my household has a M8, S5, G2, G3 and of course my S6 on 5.0 and all the battery life on our phone suck. And those other phones mention had good battery life before being updated

Watch the Galaxy S7 destroy the iPhone 6S in a low light camera shoot out [VIDEO]

While some could argue that there isn’t a huge difference between the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S7 and its older sibling — last year’s Galaxy S6 — it’s hard to argue that the latest iteration in Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup didn’t receive a significant upgrade in the camera department. Tackling the 2 biggest challenges modern smartphone cameras face, Samsung was able to build a camera that, not only takes a better photo in low light, but can focus faster in these normally challenging situations as well.
They did this by using a larger f1.7 aperture lens and something they’re calling a “Dual Pixel” system. With a new Sony IMX260 camera sensor that captures more light by using larger 1.4μm pixels (at the cost of less megapixels), Samsung says the Galaxy S7 is capable of capturing 95% more light than the IMX240 sensor found in the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S7 camera also uses all of the 12 million pixels to act as focus pixels, a feature you typically only find in full-sized DSLRs (phase detection auto focus). The end result is faster, more accurate auto-focus — 3 times faster than on the Galaxy S6 — and exceptional low light picture quality
Still don’t believe the hype? Located in Samsung’s huge MWC 2016 booth, the Korean manufacturer showcased the new low light capabilities of the Galaxy S7 by allowing us to see it for ourselves. They did this in a dark room that was so dimly lit, we had trouble seeing anything in there with our own eyes. See what happens when the Samsung Galaxy S7 goes up against last year’s Galaxy S6, and the Apple iPhone 6S in a lighting situation you’d have to be crazy to even attempt to shoot with a smartphone. We think the results speak for themselves.

Youtube minimize/maximize stutter

Hi,
In general the S7 edge might be somewhat faster than my Nexus 5X but in the Youtube app, my S7 edge and the S6 stutter when minimizing and maximizing the playing window. It happens when you drag it. It is okay, but it is not as smooth as Nexus 5X or LG V10 both on the Snapdragon 808.
Is this stutter an exynos SGS7 and SGS6 thing?
Would be cool to know if someone with a Snapdragon SGS 7 edge also has this problem, then it might be a software issue. It seems to be more pronounced when the video is already playing and then you drag it, not when it is paused.

Which CameraPhone is better than Galaxy S7 Edge?

Hi guys
I am actually disappointed with camera results of S7 edge especially in day lights where photos are either too bright or over/under exposed and often lack details when zoom in. I always use Auto mode so can this problem be solved with pro mdoe by changing different setting? I think even s6 or previous nexus 5X took better day lights pics than S7 and I think camera of s7 edge is overrated especially for still photography. It may lead in night low light photography . I have not used google pixel, s8, LG G6, P10 and IPhone 7 plus.. Are they any better? I don't care about night photography but want best picture in daylight especially for scenery, beaches, portraits
Share your opinion and how can I improve the daylight photography with this camera as I like everything else about this phone
cheers
Well, the Google Pixel has a better camera, check out some video comparisons on YouTube.
If you don't mind the lense flare...

Very important news about this phone!

Please don’t delete this topic it’s fair warning!
I hate to be right sometimes but as I told long ago after years of testing it turns out that the best camera of Samsung was in S6 / S6Edge+. Test it yourself. Hold S6 in one hand and for example S8 in the other and take a photo in good light. Then zoom it on the phone and you will see that S6 has better details, no artificial brightener while for example S8 has it.
S6 has 16 Mpix and all flagships that came after had 12 Mpix rear camera.
I’ve tested S6 Edge Plus vs. S7 / S8 / S8+, Note8, S9, S9+ and…
only S9+ finally beat S6. (look how Samsung did bad for us from Sep2015 till March2018)
I wish I had NOT sale my S6 and bought a newer one
If You don't believe me? Ask XDA members who has S6 and a later Galaxy S model (but not S9+)
This is a Warning for You don't sell your S6!!!! or sell only if you can afford to buy S9+.
I did the wrong thing so I Warn you no to make the same mistake that I did
I have nothing against S7 BTW!!! except cam quality (in good lifght)
