Where are you choosing the audio file from to play it? This will make it easier for me to explain how to set poweramp as your default audio player. If you're choosing an mp3 from the 'My Files' "app" in the Samsung folder, for some reason it won't let you choose poweramp as a player. It's easiest to set it as the default player for audio files when you play the mp3 from a file explorer like ES File Explorer. Just check the box in the bottom after you choose the audio file you wish to play. Then choose poweramp. After that everytime you load an audio file of that type it will play in poweramp as it should. Another way to set your defaults is to download "Default App Manager Lite" and go through all of the file types and choose the application you wish to set as the default app and push the 'Set as Default' button. Those are the only options I can come up with outside of the standard Settings>Applications>Default Applications>Set as Default. I hope this clears things up for you.

Change Music tab from Audio manager to WMP?

Hi, by any chance I can change the music tab to use the windows media player instead of HTC audio manager?
Audio manager is not bad, but firstly, I have a lot of WMP playlists already, and would like to use them to play music. Secondly, I also have a lot of music video those can only be played by WMP, not audio manager.
I know you can change the internet tab default program to IE. Any similar tweaks we can use to change the default program in the Music tab to WMP? , Thanks!
For your playlists, you can use PlaylistMgr to convert them to HTC Audio Manager format. Never tested... but I suppose it'll be ok.
And I don't understand why you want absolutly to use the music tab to open WMP... just add a shortcut in Program Launcher (and then, disable those unused Manila tab !).

Thanks. Just downloaded the playlistmgr.
Regarding your question, I just thought that with a Music tab in my touch flo 3D works with WMP would be really cool and useful. You can play your video files as well as mp3s just from the today Tab, that would be really nice.
I do not like the audio manager. Although WMP is far from a wonderful player, but still is far better than the audio manager. (just my 2 cents.)

changing default music player for bluetooth

i need a bit of help. i'm using bluetooth linking to my car and everytime it queues the phone for music when the link is established then the phone will pull the default music player. i want to change it so that i can have winamp start instead of the default player. its getting rather annoying..
Try going to settings/applications/manage applications/all tab scroll to media room select it then hit clear defaults. Media room is heavily incorporated into the Sense framework so it might be greyed out and not fix your issue but it's worth a try.

How to transfer music via Bluetooth from Stock Music Player ?

Is there an app or something which enables the user to transfer music files via bluetooth from Stock TouchWiz Player ? Or is there a modded touchwiz player which enables this function ?
No 3rd Party music apps. I already know about it. I find Stock player to be the best.
You can get the fine name in stock player and then search for it

I have more than 2000 songs on my phone. Also their file name different than what the actual details of the song are. I know I can use MyFiles to send songs, but is too hard for me to find the correct file.

"unable to find application to perform this action" mp3

On my S7 Edge, if I tap on an mp3 file in My Files I get the error message "unable to find application to perform this action".
However, if I browse to the same folder in ES File Explorer and tap on an mp3 file, it opens in Poweramp and plays.
Why might this be? It's not a showstopper, but it is irritating!
How or from where do you get your mp3 Files?
Anywhere and everywhere, the behaviour is the same no matter the mp3 file.
Another way of phrasing my question would be to ask: How do I associate mp3 files with Poweramp in the OS? So the equivalent of right-clicking on a file in Windows and choosing "open with", and selecting "always open this file type with this program"?

Check settings/applications/application manager scroll down to poweramp and tap/enter and check whether permission is given to phone and storage
Yes, Poweramp already has permission for both.
I note that when I tap Defaults it says "None set as default", but I see no way of associating it with mp3 files.

I think this is an issue with PowerAmp or Samsung's built in file explorer. I was able to recreate your exact same issue by disabling Samsung Music and Solid Explorer (because it has it's own media player) with the only music player being PowerAmp and Samsung Explorer being the only file manager. If you want to keep using Samsung Explorer, I can't help you other than suggesting to get in touch with Samsung or PowerAmp regarding the issue. What worked for me after recreating your issue was to install a third party file explorer with an "open with" option. In my case it was FX File Explorer and Solid Explorer. Both let me choose to open the mp3 file with PowerAmp.

Ringtone Select - Only stock sounds selectable?

Hi,
i'm currently trying to change my ringtone, but unfortunately neither "Rings Extended" nor "ES File Explorer" are popping up when opening the ringtone-settings.
I've tried to reset the default-app, but it doesn't change anything.
When launching Rings Extended directly it states:
... (If Rings Extended is not available as an option when selection sounds there, I am sorry, but your device is broken so the application can't be launched. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this; it needs to be fixed in the software of the device itself. ...

Any ideas what I can do to select custom ringtones?
PS. I'm rooted and therefore locked to 4.5.0. Is this maybe already solved in 4.5.1?
Yes, no selectable (own) ringtones... Same here.
I'm on 4.5.1 so maybe it's different but I just went to settings, ringtone, and set a local ringtone. I downloaded an MP3 of a ringtone I wanted and it was there waiting to be selected

Which folder did you save the file in?
Edit: Nevermind, found a workaround: Open File with ES Explorer and then played it with its ES Media Player. In its Menu (3 dots upper right) is an Option: Set as Ringtone

Great! Didn't think that this could be the menu for selecting a ringtone.

Great,
For reference I saved it in the ringtones folder but any location works I believe as it was also asking me about WhatsApp audio files?!
