So, I just changed my lock Screen wallpaper from the default one for the first time.
When the screen turns on the image is pulled out, or in and out. I almost want to refer to it as a zoom but Im not sure thats what it is. Its almost like the lock screen is adjusting how much of the image to show every time i turn the screen on.
Anyone experienced this or know whats causing it?
It is by design for looks, think of it as an animation.

i have the nexus S for like 3 or 4 monthjs now. i noticed that if i hide for example the notification bar on top. a slight burn in on the screen appears for like 2 seconds then it dissapears.
i wonder. will it get any worse ? what are my options here ?
if i put a live wallpaper, will it go still effect the screen?
honestly this is the only screen after like 5 nexus that doesnt have grid pattern, doesnt have dead pixels. doesnt have pink or yellow ugly colors.
What model you got?

what else would it be ? if i hide the status bar. i can see marks of the clock and the line " where the statusbar is available " for like 2 seconds before it dissapear.
I think you might be seeing some lag on your screen and just think you see a burn effect. Samoled can not get burned in.
Also, when pulling down the notification over things like android keyboard it shows through a little. It as if it was a screen burn effect.

If its there for 2 seconds and then it disappears then its definitely not a screen burn effect. It would have been permanent.
How are you hiding the status bar?

burn in has to be permanent. if it is just for 2 seconds, it might be the pixels readjusting to return back to normal.... i can't think of anything else.

You know, it is possible that its your own eye getting the burn. I mean if you have the screen brightness all the way up and switch that part of the screen to all black your eyes will get that burn effect and slowly fade out. Get a camera and record it. Watch the video and if its not in video then I'm correct in assuming its your eyes.

I think it is normal. For example I can see the status bar when XDA app is loading, throught the brown/orange full screen splash.
But that is not burn in, or it would always be there, like someone already said.

i have slight burn-in in my status bar too, super amoled. its only noticable slightly in the dark on a completely white scree. honestly, its no issue at all. it will happen with time. it was more noticable on my nexus one.

This is not true. At bestbuy they have a nexus s on display. You can see a slighty faded android with an exclamation symbol burned into the screen. It becomes VERY noticable when youre viewing a webpage since its all white.
My hypothesis is that the samoled pixel colors all age differently. since the status bar pixels are almost never lit up, they would show a slightly different color. But thats just an hypothesis. Its not a fact.

haha!!! at last we find a flaw in your super super nexus s
anyway, on topic, i had it too on the n1 but that was comprehensible as froyo had a whitish statusbar. this one is black ( pixels are not being lit up). i can imagine burn in with the clock or some of the green icons but the statusbar itself ??

anyone else notice that when you turn the screen on after leaving it off for a while the lock screen clock briefly displays the last time from when it was on then quickly updates to the current time? not a big deal or nothing just kinda annoying. only other phone I had that did this was the g2x

I didn't notice it. But the one thing I don't like about the lock screen clock is, that the hour is in bold print , and the minutes isn't .
Anybody like it that way? I think it looks weird.

if your rooted download "lock screen policy" from the play store, there's an option to un-bold the hour text

So I noticed that when I set a photo to use as my lockscreen wallpaper that it looks super dull and washed out. I use the fingerprint lock, so I went into settings and set it to swipe. Well the picture looks perfectly vivid and bright on the lockscreen now. But when I switch back to fingerprint it gets dull.
Can anyone else replicate this bug? If so, what is the cause of this?!

Just tested it and I cant tell any difference. I'm not using a stock wallpaper on lockscreen tho...
Sorry

I'm not using stock either. You won't notice it with stock image, just custom. It's a slight dullness when using the fingerprint unlock.

Yep. It is like this on the s6 as well but not as noticeable bc of the smaller screen size. That's really annoying now bc i want more security my picture quality goes down the drain! Thanks for confirming.

Anyone know how to disable the feature that turns your screen off when you touch or cover the top left hand corner right above the display... It's like a proximity sensor or something and it bugs me because if I reach for the pull down bar my screen turns off and I have to re fingerprint and it slows what I'm trying to do down.. Is there any fix?
All I see is the display setting "keep screen turned off". I'm not sure if it'll work but worth a try.
Doesn't happen on my phone unless there is an active phone call.

I've noticed the AOD goes with how the room is...so if it's dark it's going to look really dark. I put my phone in a my drawer and the screen went completely dark. AOD only works when there's light. In the dark it's really dim.

Anyone ever noticed the always on feature sometimes goes out of whack and not centered on screen and in different places, that's kind of odd.

I wish it would slowly fade over to a new position. If it moves I see it out the corner of my eye and end up looking at it because it just blinked into a different position.

If it did that, it'll probably cause more battery drain. It'll need to redraw every frame to make it look like it's fading.
Always-On screen / Glance Screen / Active Screen from Motorola or Microsoft(Nokia) displays static image and I think it's using a panel self-refresh memory so it doesn't wake up the GPU or CPU too much.
