Hello, i have a gt-n8010 tablet and just updated it to 4.4.2, from 4.1.2 i had root, worked any method cwm or autoroot, but in this version cant make root work well, i use SuperSU as root app, i do this: (debugging is on)
1 install SuperSU through autoroot (using odin) it installs and everthing goes well, reboots and it says something about disabling knox i just hit yes
2 install pro and configure the SuperSU app,
but at some point after using the app (granting root access), when i access the SuperSU interface it tells me that SuperSU has to update the "su" binary it asks me "normal" or "CWM", i hit normal as always because i didnt install CWM recovery, but this time fails installation and closes the app unlike version 4.1.2 wich didnt have any problem, and doesnt let me to access the app interface because it keeps telling me about updating binary, but when an app asks for root access it still asks me to grant it, and any app previously root granted stays granted.
the apps i use with root are: root explorer, root uninstaller, game killer, triangle away
wich seems strange is that root explorer, root uninstaller and triangle away once i grant root access they work fine, i can access root folders and modify them, uninstall system apps and even reset flash count, but game guardian, game killer and gamecih dont work as they should, they open well but cant use them to read memory and change any ingame value.
gamecih just never shows that has root access even if i granted it and doesnt respond to hotkey
game guardian opens and appears to work but when searching for a value shows 0 results everytime, every game
and game killer opens, but the message saying "Rooted" never shows and after like 20 seconds it closes and opens again in an infinite loop without letting me use it, it also doesnt respond to hotkey.
i have also tried the CWM recovery method and install SuperSU through recovery, it install without problem and just as previous method after some time of use it tells me that SuperSU has to update binary and fails installation and still cant use apps like game killer, i go back to CWM recovery and reinstall it, it reinstalls but this second time, it tells me something about disable recovery flash i just hit yes and after that it warns me about root access loss and ask me to fix it, wich i say yes, then i hit reboot now and everything goes well, but same problem, updating binary problem and no game killer type apps.
i have tried uninstalling every knox app, but still the same. i like to hack games rooting for anything else doesnt matter, any idea what can be causing this? and how to solve it?
do you disable KNOX?
Same Problem without knox.
What can I do? Many apps don't work.

Hi All,
For some reason, just in the past week or so, with no changes to my vs980 except updating twrp to 2.8.1, i've lost all capability of superuser apps but all the apps that have that require root access continue to work. I use Carbon ROM, am on 4.4.4 and do my own builds. It has it's own built in SU but I've been using SuperSU. When a new app tries to get su access via SuperSU, the "grant" button won't press so the app eventually gets denied.
I uninstalled SuperSU and now only using the built in SU app that comes with Carbon ROM. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. No logs are being generated (yes, they are turned on) and I get no toast notifications when apps request root access. But they all still work fine... which seems very odd.
What does all this mean? Can the new twrp be causing it? How can I get SU apps to work again? I've run "root checker" and it says I have root. But when I first run the app, it never asks for root access.
Thanks.
ROOT for Official Stock Nougat 7.0 (100% Working) - All Exynos Models (Tested it on SM-G930F/D SM-G935F/D)
By rooting you may lose some and gain some. Be careful in what you are doing.
Read each and every step mentioned in this post carefully and then start working on Root.
If you've any fear about the root. Please stop it here and close the window
Desclaimer:
[*]This is working on Exynos (SM-G930F) S7 Flat and (SM-G935F) S7 Edge models! (Should also work on all the Exynos Models)
[*]This will erase your phone so be sure to backup anything you need
[*]Your warranty is VOID Knox flags 0x1 or 0x500
[*]I'm not responsible for damage to your mobile or loss of warranty!
Things that may not work:
No official OTA updates (Of-course)
All Knox Based Apps (Samsung Pass, Secure Folder, Samsung Pay, S Health)
But you can get the above working - We have some ways to make them work even after root. Please Check that after the root process below
Here are the instructions to root your Nougat:
Instructions are similar to Marshmallow. Main thing to note here is - Use the latest supersu build.
Prerequisite:
Samsung Drivers
ODIN
SR2-SuperSU-v2.79 and above versions.
twrp-3.0.2-4
Instructions:
Enable OEM unlock & Debugging Mode in the Developer Options
Reboot your device into Download mode. To do this, hold the [Volume Down] + [Home] buttons for a while.
Once you reach the Download mode warning screen, press [Volume Up] to continue.
Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot and disable Auto-Reboot and click on "Start" by connecting your phone.
When its done flashing, Hold [Volume Down] + [Home] + [Power] to get out of Download mode and immediately swap to [Volume Up] when the screen blanks.
If you don't see TWRP boot splash, try again.
At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow the next step you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device and follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
If you want to use Systemless DevBase, then do not swipe. Keep it as read only.
Go to Wipe and click on format data. Type "yes" and it will format.
Now go back to home and click on "Reboot" then click on "Recovery" Option.
Now Transfer the above downloaded filed into your Phone or Memory Card or OTG Pendrive.
Now again click on Install and flash the Super SU. Only the latest Super SU is working fine with no issues. Do not use the old versions.
You can now click on reboot > system
It will take about 5 Min and boot. Done. You've got the Nougat rooted.
After the fresh boot, you will setup everything. Once you are in, you can observe a notification.
This is a security notification - unauthorised actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorised changes
Disable the notification permissions in settings and restart your device by using power button.
Do not restart it by using the option mentioned in that window!
Now go into supersu app. A popup will open to disable the Knox. click on OK. It will take some time to disable it. If its taking more than 5 min and failed to disable, then restart the mobile again and do the same step. it will work now.
Note: You can ignore the last step, If you want to use KNOX - do not disable it.
How to Disable the notification permissions:
Slightly move the notification to the right. You can see a 'settings icon'. Click on that and you'll be taken to notification permissions.
If you see "Allo notifications", disable it.
or
Go to Settings > Applications > Click on 3 dot menu on the right corner and select "Show system Apps". Find "SecurityLogAgent" and open it.
If you dont see that option to disable the notifications:
Go to settings > device maintainance > Device Security > Click on scan device once and close the settings.
Open the supersu app and you may see the popup to disable KNOX. click on OK. (If you've already done this, just restart your mobile)
Restart the device. Done.
If you the see the notification again, install titanium Backup app and Disable/Freeze - SecurityLogAgent & SharedDeviceKeyguard.
Restart your mobile.

And All the Devs working on S7.
Special Note:
Please do not use the old versions of supersu on Nougat. You'll have some problems with the root. You may get the root but some of the things may not work well.
Camera doesnt work, flash light doesnt work, wifi problem, delay in response, keyboard doesn't work properly, App closure etc etc.
So, use SR2-SuperSU-v2.79-SR2-20170103215521 and above versions for better results.
Phsuperuser and magisk will also work but, you may have to use custom kernels.
Did you brick your device ?
Then flash the official firmware using ODIN. Download the official stock firmware from sammobile.com or by using this tool
Hit Thanks if it helps :fingers-crossed:

This worked for me Thank You ..
but, I could not find the place to disable this notification ..
"You may get a security notification that "unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorized changes."
Open the notification and scan the device once. Then Disable the notification permissions for that in settings and restart your device."
The option to disable the notifications doesn't work?
Help me with this one?

or
Go to Settings > Applications > Click on 3 dot menu and select "Show system Apps". Find "SecurityLogAgent" and open it.
Some of the members are unable to see this option. Members who have upgraded directly from Marshmallow to Nougat are having this issue. You cannot change the notification permissions for system Apps. And for those who have upgraded from Beta, they have the option to disable. not sure why.
If you dont see that option to disable the notifications:
Go to settings > device maintainance > Device Security > Click on scan device once and close the settings.
Open the supersu app and you may see the popup to disable KNOX. click on OK. (If you've already done this, just restart your mobile)

We have some MODs available to remove knox and bloatware for Marshmallow and Beta Nougat. I did not test any mods on this official Nougat.
May be after sometime this procedure will get easy.
Hope that helps :good:

Read on TWRP thread that the latest super su does not require flashing of no verify zip file as it does the job? Is that true?
But now I can't log in on Snapchat

I think it's your first time to root your phone.
Snapchat will not work on Rooted devices. Its blocking the user to login on rooted devices.
But, we have many threads in XDA on how to use snapchat despite the root. You should takeout some time to search on google
Here is a thread by @TheGejr - Snapchat on rooted devices without Xposed (Nougat)
Another Thread : Snapchat and Root
Or you can use the following steps:
unroot your phone and Restart : Open Supersu > go into settings > go to 'Clenaup' Category > click on "Full unroot". It will remove the root.
Login to your snapchat.
Root the phone by super su again.
You can use the snapchat again.
Hope that helps

Yeah Right. Its not needed (as per the comments in that thread).
I have observed the same in MM as well.
In most of the rooting method threads, everyone recommended to flash the no-verify zip. So, I did the same.
Will see if it works that way with the new supersu.
May be you can try that when you get the nougat update
I rooted my s7 v7.0 but i screen mirroring not working on this root i tried to connect when its connect it gives error failed.

In the new official Nougat, S Health app is checking the KNOX flags due to updated security policy. If your knox tripped, then it wont work.
I've tried removing the knox, Removed S Health app and installed it as user app. Nothing worked.
This is working in custom ROMs. Anyway you want to root the official stock, so using custom roms is almost the same. Try them instead of this

I didn't try it myself but maybe it will work:
Just delete S Health completely from system/app and get an older version (e.g. 4.8) from apkmirror. Install that apk as a regular user app and let it update. Some people claim that this method worked for them.
Root dont work
Hi i have s7 with nougat official and I root the phone is ok I have root all good but the root apps don't work properly they ask for permission every 10 sec or crash or they tell my i don't have root the root futures of apps don't work properly
(Lucky Packer crash . Game killer after premison don't work or they tell my my phone isn't root .app2sd error on root)
just install the TWRP another kernel for example, TGP Kernel then lucky works
Hi,
I'm hoping I am posting this in the right place but after installing Magisk on OOS11 I am unable to bypass Root detection on my banking apps, I have used Magisk Hide and this shows all okay with safetynet but using Root Beer it still detects SU binaries etc.
I thought it was somehow detecting the unlocked bootloader but after uninstalling Magisk and leaving the bootloader unlocked the apps function okay.
If anyone is able to help that would be great, many thanks!
Have you tried repackaging Magisk?
Hi, yes I tried that to but still detected su binaries etc.
have you try to use Xposed module: Root Cloak?
for some apps, I can successfully bypass the root detection.
sadly for my banking apps, it's just no use. somehow it still detect the root even the xposed. so I decided not to root my phone
but, I think it might work for some banking app.
Hi, thank you for the idea but still no luck, I'm using Starling Bank if anyone else is also having the same issue.
I use starling bank also, but magisk hide is working as it should
Also force stop the app, clear the data&cache, re add to magisk hide the try again
Ps - root beer will detect su binaries; that's it's purpose. But when you use magiskhide on root beer it hides them as expected.
