Pass Moto X Play for Retail - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
My Moto X Play is linked with Nextel, how do I leave Retail?
I tried to install the ROM at retail RSD, but remains bound.
It's possible?
Thank you.

Is your model XT1564? If yes you might search the forum under that number & LRA ("L"TE in "R"ural "A"merica) sometimes wrongly written as RLA. Don't know much about the whole thing, just trying to give you a starting point.
Sent from my XT1563 using Tapatalk

Mine is the XT1563.

I'm from Brazil . Already Unlock the Bootloader , and made the downgrade to 5.1.1 retail , and still got bond .
It looks like there's no way to remove .

of course you need to unlock the bootloader first if you want to install another firmware via fastboot
just remember your model and your area cid

Flashing international Firmware

Hello everyone,
yesterday, a family member gifted me an s7 from the USA (SM-G930P). He bought the phone off SPRINT as a SPRINT unlocked version, and, of course, because I live in Europe and want to use the phone with a European SIM card I have the "hands free activation" mark that is sitting on the top left edge of the display. I also noticed some changes, for example the "mobile data" toggle is nowhere to be found and also I don't have the options to choose the network mode (2G/3G/4G). I love the phone and I also would like to keep using it, I only need some answers from you guys.
My first question is, if the phone will actually let me use 4G network with my European SIM card, or will I be limited to 3G?
My second question is, If I can flash an international firmware for another carrier and another country on the phone, and if so, will I have the advantages of that firmware, like the Mobile Data Toggle??
Thank you very much for your answers.
If you install the 'Network' app you might be able to change the network type.
In general you should be able to use an unlocked P variant with a foreign SIM but you may have to activate with a Sprint SIM first.
You can't flash the international version since it's Exynos and the P version is Qualcomm CPU.
I am not sure if this model has Samsung region lock which is another thing to consider.
If I was you I would try to flash the U firmware (US unlocked) as it has the most support for international 4G bands among the Qualcomm US models. It also doesn't have all of the Sprint bloatware on it.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the European Sim from my carrier and I have no problems with it. I managed to get rid of the Bloatware by using Package Disabler Pro, but it still sits there somewhere on my phone. So far, the phone is working very well and other than the bloat sitting on my memory and the lack of LTE, I have no complaints.
Can you tell me if someone has tried to flash the U firmware on a P model with success?

Could you tell me how you did it, or link me a guide??
I had bought an unlocked Sprint galaxy S7 (930P) off ebay which died on me. Got it repaired from the service center and they sent me a locked device instead. The phone is currently on Software Version - G930PVPS4BQC1 and the hardware revision is Rev 0.6. I'll be using the phone in India and have a few questions.
1. I need to get this SIM unlocked from a service online. Does anyone know of a reliable place to do so?
2. If I flash the U Rom on it after unlocking it, will I lose the unlock? (I don't mind downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow)
3. Should I unlock first then flash the ROM or flash the ROM first and then try to get it unlocked?
4. Will flashing the ROM directly unlock the phone itself?
Please advise.
...
you could try gsm zambia to unlock your phone it works i tried it myself a few days ago, also after my phone got unlocked i flash the U firmware/rom and the unlocked remained. so you should unlock your device first then flash the U firmware :good:
PS. if you one nougat better to downgrade if you can do marshmallow so when you wont have any issues flashing to U firmware. :cool

Regional/carrier/seller restriction - who knows.
Bottom line: if Moto's eligibility check comes back negative you are done. There are no workarounds TMK.
I have seen random posts indicating issues unlocking the xt1602 variant. Only one claiming success.
Might be able to root it; there's a thread discussing an exotic method that most never seem to get through.

I've the same variant, XT1602 Indian version. And i unlocked its bootloader without any problem. Don't know why it is considering your device as ineligible.

From my experience, Moto's website is picky. Make sure there are no spaces in the string you put in. Using the 'scrub tool' provided on the same page is usually a good idea if you're not sure. Sometimes a space can get trapped at the beginning and you can't see it.
Others have tethered a root by using TWRP and flashing that way. I'm still learning how this works and will attempt when I get an XT1609 prepaid Verizon variant.

Prime Exclusive G5 plus

Hello I bought the Prime exclusive moto g 5 plus 64gb storage and 4gb of ram .
THIS ONE.
According to this post I'll not be able to root it, unlock boot loader or install a custom recovery, is this true??, it seems like a normal xt1687 (mine is xt1687 too acording to fastboot) in my opinion, is there any difference between mine and a non-amazon one??.
I downloaded the G5 plus toolkit and got the unlock boot loader information with no problem, also found an option in developer settings section that says "OEM UNLOCKING (Allow boot loader to be unlocked)"
What versión do you have? Xt1687? If your answer is yes, youll able to root unlock etc, i know cuz i have the same version. Greetings

You have to go through Motorola to get the code to unlock the bootloader. They will know whether you have an Amazon Prime device, and I don't believe they will give you the code. At least I believe that was the issue when the phone originally came out.

Enable second SIM in Moto X Style XT1572?

Hi I have a Motorola xt1572, but I found that after installing the EU ROM from fastboot (Nougat) I found that if it has the ability to have a second SIM, can someone help me activate it?

Added two images of the subject
just use search, no one managed to do this yet
You can do it yourself with your own risk (if your phone is not locked SIM type):
- Pull out the SIM tray, you can see 2nd tray is covered with a black plastic nanoSIM form. Carefully, softly pull it out. Try not to break the tray. Tada. You can put the 2nd SIM here. But it won't work.
- Unlock your bootloader. Flash the newest dual SIM firmware to your phone (it may be India, Asia or Latam retail firmware). How to unlock bootloader and how to flash dual sim firmware are all in X Style (Pure) General. Please take a look then.
If it succeeds, your phone will boot with dual-online-SIM. If it fails, you may have to return to your EU-single-SIM firmware or something worse.
Good luck!

How do you check the status of the bootloader

This is concerning a moto g5s plus US variant, XT1806 32gb, 3gb ram phone.
2 questions I'm curious about.
1: I rooted this phone about a week after I bought it. I then decided to upgrade phones and am wanting to sell this phone now, but I wanted to lock the bootloader. For about 6 months, no matter WHAT I did, the bootloader just would not lock, regardless of what I did. Not sure why or what happened to make it not lock, so I just gave up until recently.
I decided to break out the phone again and give it one more shot, and to my shock and surprise, I think I finally got it locked. Perhaps I was using the wrong firmware, missing a command or something I'm not sure.
Symptoms I have now are
a: no unlocked bootloader nag screen at bootup and
b: in fastboot mode, it says at the bottom oem_locked
So to the question 1, if it says oem_locked, that is referring to the bootloader as locked, and if it was unlocked, it would say oem_unlocked instead, am I getting that right?
2: I am using firmware labeled as 116-64-11. I know they have different variants, and you should use the coresponding variant number. If I recall right the 64 varient is a global firmware, but will work on all variants of this phone, india and US variants alike.
If I again recall right the US variant number should be 116-45-x, 45 being the US variant. So does anyone know for sure what the corresponding numbers are for each one, and am I correct on my assumption?

Okay so your device is sanders and not potter. This forum is for moto g5 plus not 's'. Post it in the g5s forum and u might get more help. And yes oem_locked is locked bootloader. And u will get the build version in the g5s section. GL.
