1. Is the front of glass is 2.5d ? corning glass 4? Right?
2 . Is the brightness enough for to use outdoor? ( like note 5 push to 856 nit under sunlight)
3 . Is it easy to bend like iphone 6 plus ?
4 . Why the camera app launch too slow ? Does it have lazer focus?
5 . Sorry for my bad English. :victory:
Thank you very much .
1.yes
2. yes
3.no
4. Camera app not slow and yes has laser focus.
5. Its okay!
Thank you sir
I am also confused, have got edge + and looking at the youtube videos, it seems display and camera is much better on my edge+ compare to 6P, but I still want to buy it because of roms support !
Then buy it. Why do you need someone else to tell you that it's worth buying? The camera is fantastic, the display is fantastic.
1. Not sure about the 2.5d but yes I believe the front is Gorilla Glass 4, as well as the back "visor" being Gorilla Glass 4.
2. I have no issue using the phone outdoors when I crank up the brightness.
3. I have the phone in a Spigen Rugged Armor Case and after several months no signs of bending.
4. Camera does not launch slow, it does have laser focus. However it does not have OIS(Optical Image Stabilization) which means video capture can be a little shaky(Since you've compared to the Note 5 and iPhone 6+ in other questions, OIS is a feature they both have).
I think that is the reason we are here at XDA, to take opinions and help each other... I want rom support but I have got a little daughter and I take alot of pictures/videos of her everyday, that is why I am confused, coz i won't be happy if pictures do not come out good as they are in my edge +
I also have a young daughter who I take many photos of, this camera takes phenomenal photos. There's an entire thread dedicated to photos taken by this camera in our general section, have a look, you'll see what I mean.
good thanks, I will go and look at the pictures
another thing, does it throttles down cpu if playing heavy games for some time ? I mean does it starts dropping frames when used for a while and hot ? I read this somewhere ...
It'll depend on the game, but yes it does throttle sometimes.
thanks for your prompt reply !

Is you XDA II camera still clear quality until now? I mean when you bought your XDA II means the camera is new and bright but now that your xda ii is old is your camera still in good quality? still bright? cuz i think mine become blur, i dont know why, i dont even dropped it yet. But i think it is only in my mind that it became blur, right??? HELP IS HIS TRUE??
Mine is still fine (6 months old)
Could it be your eyes got spoilt by all the fancy cameras with multi mega pixel quality that everyone seems to have?
Good heaven
Good Heaven. yours is 6 months but still the camera is still same as new?????? mine is 1 month, please post another that your camera is still ok... My device will be useless if no camera. I never drop it. Any one else???
help convince me plssssss
i never felt my cam was very good quality but it havent changed
and i dont really use it much
PLSSSSSSSS HELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!
Just to confirm: I havent any decline in quality from my MDAII camera.
With VGA focus-free you cant expect the quality a lot low-cost digital cameras offer today . . .
It's OK for snapshots and to be honest this holiday I was suprised by the (relatively) good quality of the MP4 movies I captured.
my camera sucked from the first day i used it.
i NEVER used i since. quality is so bad - noone want's to have such pictures.
but judge yourself
regards ize|man
That one looks worse than mine, but of course lighting AND a steady hand do a lot!!!!
look..
i think that the camera will be good as digital cameras if there is a good light..
and try this to make it better..
go to camera..
and tab settings..then go to to tools..then adjest,,and options..and i think if u manged it will it'll be better..
and my i-mate (3 months old) and i dont see it changed or anything..
although i dropped it today very bad drop..and its fine..!
this is a picture i took
the details are absent and the bluer is bad
much like my old creative webcam which could be disconnected and used as a poor cam as well
have yet to see a cmos cam I liked quality wise
ofcause this is why real digital cams all use ccd and not cmos
[/img]
I think that picture quality is not so bad.
What really bothers me is that pixels seem not to be correctly "joint" (fitted?).
In other words, if you look at a poor quality picture, probably you will not see the subject defined and the picture will have "low-quality" everywhere; instead I have the feeling that qtek pictures could be easily improved just avoiding that sort of scattering and dithering between pixels which makes all blurred (just look at the picture attached before) and which is not related with resolution.
I hope someone can understand my opinion; it was a "matter of feeling", therefore hard to write in english (not being English of course  )
I guess i was wrong, all of your xda's are older than mine and you even drop it ans still the camera never change. no one post that their cameras becomes weak or changed to bad. maybe your right, it is only my feelings. right?
i haven?t dropped it really well i did drop it down my shoe once while it was in the plastic case but i doubt that that would cause any damage
but i agree with the people who say the mp4 video clips look better of cause you don?t notice the imperfections of each frame as much in clips
Hi friends, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note since 2012 and I used to love it. It was fast, big, it had a good camera, an almost perfect screen (The first HD Super Amoled screen) and the amazing S-Pen. It went from 2.3.5 Gingerbread to Android 5.0 Lollipop (Unbelievable). But yes, after 3 years of heavy using it, it started to show problems. The camera stopped working fine, It didn't focused anymore, the S-Pen started malfunctioning (moving elements of the screen without even touching it), the USB board went bad (including the microphone and usb jack) and the screen has burn-in issues. Then I assumed that was time to change it. Now I'm looking for the new flagship, the Note 4 (which I'm going to buy in January). So I read almost every review of it, every video and photos taken with his camera and everyone says that the phone is almost perfect (I mean almost because the 80% complains about the Touchwiz Layer in the OS, which I love and I don't have any problem to live with it) and doesn't have any flags. So I came here to ask to the people who already owned it and have some daily experience with the device what are their thoughts, problems and good things about it. Also some little things that I'm a bit worried:
-How good the camera is?
-It's early to ask because no one had this phone for more than 4 months, but does anyone experienced screen burn in? And how looks the screen in direct sunlight?
-What parts of the phone are metal? Only the frame or the whole body? And how feels it? It's good to handle or still feels like cheap plastic?
-What about the phone duration? Anyone had scratches on it? How bad they're? Please if you can add some photos of them, because the phone isn't even released here in Argentina and they arent any covers or protectors for the it so I need to stay for around 3 months with a "nude" phone.
Sorry for too many questions, but I really need to know how good this phone is because the price is really high. Thanks!

- The Camera is fine, in my opinion, but that probably depends on the persons preference and use.
- I can't say I have experienced any burn-in, but the screen is okay in direct sunlight; however, if you angle your phone to inspect the glass in sunlight with the screen on, I notice a reddish tint all over with that blurryness you would experience if you were in a well-lit city at night without glasses when you need them haha :silly:
- Admittedly, the phone feels a tad delicate, but that's what cases are for! I have been using an s-view case without a screen protector since purchase and it still looks like-new! If you aren't going to use a case for your phone though, a full metal body might be better.
- With my s-view case and no screen protector, my phone has no scratches - that I can see. Unless you carry your phone in the same pocket as your keys and other objects, you will be fine :3 Unless you carry sand in your pocket Phone duration seems to vary among different models though. I am using a 910V (?) and I get anywhere from 4~6 hours of Screen-on time. The stand-by time is the best part though imo. I can usually go 2 days or more without a charge.
edit:
The red tint usually happens if I angle the phone on purpose I leave my brightness settings on automatic and the screen is always clear (as it would be at nighttime) with the sun directly over me.

Thanks for the fast answer! And how do you feel using this phone? Do you have any complain or something that didn't liked about it?

If I had any complaints, the s-pen would convince me that it's worth it so I'm pretty biased xD
The phone is just fine. But u should buy the qualcom varients as this is my 3rd note 4. Its qualcom but backside 4g+ is written. Its true if u see the display from an extreme angle you will see red tint but its normal for me cause almost nobody watch the display from 170 or 180 degree. Qualcom chipset has better ram and bettery management over exinos one. And the phone really looks premium. Not only looks but u will feel it when you touch it. No problem seeing the display at direct sunlight. And it does not matter if they use gorilla glass 10 it will have scratch if you do not use screen protector or flip cover. So be careful.
Not a thorough review here... just thought I'd put up some initial impressions;
1. Battery seems great so far, but I usually let these devices settle a week or so before judging. My general experience with other Sony's is that the battery performance is awesome.
2. Camera and video really look great.
3. I do have the issue with picture distortion, but it's insanely difficult to spot unless I take a picture of a box or my keyboard.
4. Videos I've taken thus far look awesome - most of my captures are on mountain bike trails, so good lighting.
5. The device size seems better for me to handle than smaller phones (came from an HTC 10), and I have small-ish hands. It seems counter intuitive, but that's my feeling thus far.
6. The one screen protector I've tried (tempered) doesn't cover the entire glass surface, so this is like every other phone out there... don't expect good looks with tempered sp's.
7. Audio sounds great so far - still playing. Speaker volume is lower than my HTC 10, which is a bit disappointing.
8. FP reader is super fast, and I love it on the side of the phone as opposed to the front. Much more natural spot IMHO.

Thank you for the review. Aside from the volume and the distortion, do you have any other negative comments about the phone? Generally been a positive experience so far has it?
Even if you are generally happy with the phone I think it would still be wise to report the distortion. It's important that Sony know how widespread this issue is.

I agree with everything you stated in your brief review. Especially about the camera. I am no camera expert (seems like everyone today is a professional photographer wannabe...) I guess if you need to take photos of keyboards or grids you may see some distortion, but for regular photos mine looks great!
I too wish the speakers were capable of being just a little louder, but I guess this has to do with being waterproof. I can live with them as they are. Then again Sony may provide a patch that helps with the volume??? I too think the battery is great, but then again I am not watching movies or playing games on my phone. If I want to watch a movie I have an 80" Vizio in a theater room for that!
I do wish that Sony would unlink the ringtone from the notification volume. I know it's an Android thing but there are other phones running Nougat 7.1.1 that do have them unlinked. Other than that this phone is great!

Generally, I think the device is awesome, so it's been a positive experience for me. I have reported the distortion to Sony, and am going to go through their steps to resolve, which first means a factory reset through the Sony app (ugh!!
For the record, I've gone through a bunch of devices, and I do have 2 Sony's in my history. I am buy no means a fan boy. My son now has my HTC 10, and as much as I liked that phone, it doesn't hold a candle to the XZP.

Can I ask in what ways you like it over the 10?
I've got the HTC 10 at the moment and have been holding out to see what the OnePlus 5 is like, but I'm really tempted by this.

Hmm, let's see. These are just my feelings, no scientific method behind it.
Build quality - the Sony always has a strong feel in the hand.
Handling - the 10 feels harder to handle in one hand than the xzp
Screen - xzp looks ridiculous. 10 is no slouch.
Dual speakers on the xzp.
Wfi connections on 5ghz is waaayyy better
Water resistance - I mountain bike a lot, so my devices get wet.
Flat back, and the camera doesn't protrude.
does anyone else have a problem with slow mo camera being too dark and grainy or is that just me cannot do anything in good lighting condition at all

I don't have this phone, but from my understanding on how camera works i think that you need a lot of light to not be dark and grainy. The faster is your shutter speed the more light you need. That is why who operates professional slo-mo cameras uses big lights to really brighten the scene. Try to make a slo-mo outside in a bright sunny day (with direct sun light on your subject) and you should see the difference.

I'm surprised you find it easier to handle, that's the one thing making me reluctant is how much bigger than the HTC 10 it is. One handed must be impossible...

Thats what I thought too, but it's not as imposing as it looks. Additionally, it REALLY helps to have the FP reader on the side of the phone, It makes one handed operation easier IMHO.
Hey folks, so I was just about to get a op5t a week ago but as a usual tech sounded guy I've been diving into tonnes of reviews and videos. Some tell me that the phone is great ( and i know that it is. I own a 3t as well) but it's just the camera which is rather a downgrade from the Op5. So my main question here is: is it worth getting the 5t or should i go for a used op5 (two months old in excellent condition).
And yeah I'm fine with 16:9 displays.
Looking for some honest opinions.

Go for the 5T if you have the budget. If you don't, you're not missing out on a lot. It pretty much has the same specs all around. The main differences? Screen & camera.
Dude wait for 6 T, wait
To me the 5 clinched the deal due to front fingerprint sensor, a more useful tele lens and admiration for iphone design. Oh, also lighter on the wallet. =)
The main fear of having an all-screen phone is that if it falls there is 90% chance of getting its display cracked where oneplus 5 has bigger chin which reduces the chances of getting screen cracked by 50% IMO.
Hello guys,
Just to post to warn you about the quality difference between the A1s
A bit of background:
I have bought a Xiaomi a1 for my gf, and i was really impressed by the built quality of this budget phone, the screen was very nice especially and the camera quality with GCam or even in Panorama mode was insane. (I can show some pics if you want).
So I decided to get one for myself, for quick travel photography, along with my full frame camera.
I have just received it and I am so disappointed, the screen is bad, it has a yellow tint especially in the top left corner.
The camera is extremly bad, it has a built issue and it's not sharp at all.
Now I will try to get a refund (bought it on Aliexpress).....
So yep, be careful, test your phone when you receive it, you might be unlucky and get a crappy version
My screen glass has defects on the inside (right where the LCD and glass meet), it's positioned at the upper left of my screen, the 2-3 small imperfections are really distracting. It looks like an indent from the inside causing small black spots on the glass. I can't show it because the camera won't pick it up.
Im one of the unlucky too.
My phones screen is separating from the frame on the left and right side.
Battery is so bad like I get 1 hour of full charge
USB C port is loose. This phone never fell out of my hands its falling apart on its own!
Wow, it seems i am not the only one, the quality insurance at Xiaomi seems to be their weak point.
It's sad, because when you stumble on a good one, they are real beasts for the price!
Its the worst phone I've had. Even my Galaxy S4 is better and more durable then this piece of c*ap
Got mine last October when it released and no issues. Built quality and screen are superb. It also takes great pictures with gcam installed.
My Mi A1 hasn't really had any issues, I bought it from my friend's cousin so it's second hand but he really took care of it. Nowadays I'm having a great experience with it, I'm just afraid about EMMC degrading like some users have reported... However, It has 8-9 months already and it's running pretty decently
Dropped mine about 30 cm and a flex cable got loose so I had to open the phone and put it back.. But flawless ever since :silly:

Yep, I have already checked, and they are virtually the same, here is the result:
The screens are the exact same: GFF, Vendor: Tianma, ICtm1911(focal)
The cameras too, but I think it's the same for everyone.
For the rest, the only difference is that mine is a 64 gb and the other one a 32 GB.
