The Verizon variant doesn't have this. T-Mobile and Sprint do. What about the AT&T variant? Can anyone verify?
My AT&T S7 Edge has it.
Yes, AT&T does.

Thank you! Would you be able to show me what the "more" menu on that screen looks like on your variant? I'd like to illustrate it in the post I'm doing for Android Police regarding this feature.
Sure, the WiFi sharing option is launched from the more button under the tethering menu as seen in the attached screenshot.
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you! On my Verizon variant, the Wi-Fi sharing item is replaced with "Help"

So I am currently in possession of a Verizon branded S6 edge+ which I am planning to use with TMo, as far as the XDA community I've seen this subsection as well as subsections for the different carries ex. TMo S6 edge+, Verizon S6 edge+ etc I was wondering what the difference was, also was wondering which ssection, my guess is the Verizon subsection as the phone's innards are specific to Verizon's version but I'm just asking before I get Into the rooting (rather be safe than sorry)
Also has any one else done this? Is there any discrepancy with the signal or anything else?
Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks

You won't be able to root your device due to the locked bootloader. Same as ATT no root

I have the same setup (and I really should have researched more). That said, I'm using my T-mobile sim just fine in the SM-G928V using published APN settings for t-mobile, and I doubt there's any hardware differences. What annoys me is I can't enable VoLTE.
Reading more, it looks like a root is elusive for this device.
Question is: Can one swap to another carrier's stock firmware as a full recovery? (using Odin for example)
I have the Verizon version G928V and need to use it on AT&T. It's xmas so I can't go to the store is there anything I need to do to get this to work? Not getting data there's an H above the reception bar and phone calls work but can't hear or be heard.

Right, the APN settings will get the basics working. While I can live with not being able to root for a while (package disable from Google Play is your friend), what I really don't like is not being able to enable VoLTE (and Verizon's "advanced calling" is basically useless to me). Any ideas on how you can rig VoLTE on a locked down device?
Had an iPhone and a great option was to be able to use wifi calling where there was
a bad signal. Is this possible with the new Galaxy S7 Edge on ATT&T?

I don't think so. AT&T's website still only list the iPhones unfortunately. They really need to get rolling with this.
Never know... Verizon never had it either, but added it to their note 5 when they updated it to marshmallow...

That's what I'm hoping for. A quick OTA update to add the feature.
Hey guys,
I am currently an iPhone user since day one. I guess I am getting tired of waiting for a jailbreak and waiting on developers to update their tweaks so I want to move to an S7.
I been looking on Craigslist for a S7 and I see a bunch of AT&T phones but I am on Verizon. I know both carriers are different from one another using different bands but can I use an ATT phone on a Verizon network if it's unlocked? I was told by Verizon that I can but someone else said I can't.
I am just curious to see if the S7 is all band compatible?
I don't want to spend $700 and not be able to use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you saying if I buy a US S7 I can't root the phone?

Yes, there are no US S7 or S7 Edge phones which can be rooted.
The very last late model Samsung Galaxy phones which can still be
rooted are the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ & Note 5 US branded phones.
So if you want a S7 Edge you will have to purchase an international
model G935F.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

So rooting is only for installing roms correct? Thanks for this info, I almost bought one from CL.
Can you still install tweaks without rooting?
Also just to confirm the SM-G935F model will work on Verizon correct?

Yes it will, all you will need to do is pop in an activated Verizon micro sim card.

You cannot install or flash any roms, tweaks or mods unless the phone is rooted. (With very few exceptions)

Yes it can.
If you want to know how, go to this xda link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/recovery-official-twrp-hero2lte-3-0-0-0-t3334084
It will guide you thru the rooting process.
The W8 Canadian S7 Edge is rooted the
same way as all the international versions.
You don't even need to root the phone if you are
going to flash a custom rom...
All custom roms are pre-rooted so you will only
need to odin flash TWRP by following the guide
in the link above.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Are you sure the international version supports CDMA?
I read it only supports 4G not 3G or 2G.
That kind of sux because to me Verizon does not have good coverage.
If I buy a phone from Verizon I guess can't root it, what can I do? Can I install custom tweaks and is there a free App Store like AppCake?
I would be careful using phones built on another network even if unlocked. The phone and sms will work but picture / video and data connections will be spotty.
Verizon and Sprint work off of CDMA and all other carries r on GSM.
LTE frequencies r built different for each network. If I was u n spending that money, I would buy the phone that was made for the carrier u r looking to do business with.
U can search through the Google play store. All tweaks that come from apps in there u can install without root.
If u r used to Cydia which u change system parameters of the native phone or status bar icons, that is all done with root.
Android gives u a million more customization options unrooted. Not like the iPhone. I have also used an iPhone for years and only because of the jailbreak. Without a JB I would of never used the iPhone. I switched to android as well because new JBs don't come out as quick especially since every other month Apple releases a new IOS.
I am amazed with all the options and great camera that s7 has over the iPhone. The iPhone 7 still sounds to be years behind.
I am actually selling an AT&T unused s7 device.
Good luck!!!

Actually I am using Echoe Rom do you really recommend me to install a Stock rom? I don't really like how looks my phone. There are some stuff missing like TouchWiz features. I am using a G935W8
Hi guys. I have an AT&T Samsung S7 Edge SM-G935A.
I have phone network unlocked from AT&T.
I am having a problem getting it to work on Verizon. When I was messing around with the settings I was actually able to receive text messages for a little bit but I was unable to send texts. I then took it into a verizon store and they reset all settings and I was never able to get to that point before.
Is there anything I can do? I tried setting apn settings but the phone gets angry and locks the profile. If I received texts at one time there HAS to be a way to get this to work. Correct?
Thank you.
Yes, flash the Verizon firmware if you haven't already. I'm assuming you're using an active SIM, yes?

Yep, active SIM. That being said all of the S7 Edges will work on all bands, right? I just gather that AT&T has the network preference locked from the factory.

Yes, however the carriers and their respective firmware lock out certain bands. AT&T and T-Mobile disable Band 13, while Verizon disables Band 12. The U model, however, has all bands unlocked, so you can flash the latest G935U firmware (which now has Nougat) on your S7E.
I went from a G935A to a G935V and it worked, however I haven't tested to see if a G935U firmware would work.

I am interested in trying Tmobile for service but have a phone issue. I currently have Verizon service with a S5. Tmobile has advised me that my S5 would not work great on their network. They suggested that I buy an S8 to give their network the proper test. But if I do not like the service coverage, I understand their S8 would not work properly on the Verizon network if I were to switch back. So, I would like to know if I purchased an S8 from Verizon would it work well on the Tmobile network. Also, if I purchased an unlocked S8 from Samsung would it work well on both Tmobile and Verizon.
Please give me your advise.

Some "unlocked " phones are gsm only and Verizon is cdma(I think the s8 and plus have all bands though not 100%sure). Make sure it's compatible 1st. I setup Verizon s5s and s6s for people on T-Mobile before besides the sim card isn't from Verizon message when you 1st boot up they worked fine for them. Make sure apns are correct and don't use Verizon message app you'll be ok to try network.

If you truly want the S8 no matter which service you end up with, get the unlocked us version (like at Best buy) it should be both GSM and CDMA.

An unlocked version from Samsung.com should serve you better on both of your carriers. I have an unlocked S8, purchased from Samsung and I use it with T-Mobile.
Read the first portion and then scroll to the bottom for fine print and you will find your answer.
