Change Region - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just a quick question, is it possible to change the phone region... I'm trying to use an app which is not intended for UK?
Thanks

Yes, you can. I haven't tried it yet, but there a bunch of apps on the Play store that does it. Check them out.

Thanks I've had a look but a couple of reviews suggest you can brick your phone so I'm not confident enough to try!

Amazon Appstore - Bypass access for peeps outside the us?

I went as far as getting an email with the link for the amazon appstore apk. I have a completed profile in my amazon account, but when I try to get the free app of the day, it still says its not available in my country. :'( Any workaround?

not really, they are DRM protected. Even i tip the .apk off my phone and try to install it to a buddies phone it'll show that he not the authorized owner of the phone.
He has ATT and wanted me to git him the PvZ a while back and it just wouldn't work. Nothing can be done until they open it up for everyone.

I'd be glad to, but unfortunately it's illegal and I might offend someone here at the XDA. I do love the community and respect everyone's opinion, and I'm not looking foreward to be banned. Hope you understand. For those who are truly interested, they can send me a private message and we'll keep it to ourselves.

Root coming!

For those that did not see, Beanstown is working on the root for us, as posted in the bounty thread. He hopes to have it done by tonight. If your able, please send him some monetary love so he can get this beautiful tablet and develop for us. Thanks!

Will rooting break any of the Samsung apps and cause them to stop working correctly?

So any media purchased in media hub will still be accessible, and watchon will still work? Because when I rooted my old note 8, those quit working, meaning I never got to enjoy the watchon credit I got with it, as it expired.

Awesome!
It seems like someone in the Note 3 forum has a way to root with knox at 0x0. Hopefully that will also be an option in the future for this!

That's not going to help those of us who already rooted. My tab was new yesterday.

Any idea how long Root will take?

I have so many apps on my Note 4 that I need root to Titanium Backup my apps to the S7 Edge. Haven't bought it yet, but will when root is out.

You'll lose tap and pay if you root.

When sources come out I believe and that won't be till after the 11th, the official release.
So is everyone just manually installing all their apps and redoing all their settings? Damn, it'll take me days! Google doesn't do a great job of restoring apps on new phones like Apple.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
On the s6 we rooted just by repacking the ramdisk with some scripts to install busybox and superuser and then flashing in Odin. I'm not sure if that's how it works here too but I may give it a shot.

You can use Samsung Smart Switch mobile if your old device is compatible. (Doesn't work with any LG device)

Not sure it will work but it's a XDA link.

If it was posted anywhere else I wouldn't be at all surprised. But on XDA? Disappointing.
About 10 minutes
If you use Kingroot, I'm sure it will happen soon, I personally have not seen one device that Kingroot can't handle. You may just have to do it a couple of times.
Don't use chrome to download it detects this as virus or a bad file. They don't want you to root android phones.

Not everyone knows that. There are people that got the S7 that haven't had a phone with Samsung Pay so I like to let people know that there is that negative aspect of rooting. And there are plenty of people who use Tap and Pay. You don't have to be an ass to me or anyone else here.

Is this for real ? So there's root already available for the new S7 Edge using this method ?

Privacy Based ROM

Hey all
So I saw a ROM based around privacy, this meant full on encryption, Google Apps not needed and a few other things.
I can no longer find out what it is called, you were only able to flash it via the compute like you do when flash factory images.
The website was a graphite gray if that helps [emoji14]
Does anyone know/remember what it was called?
