International Snapdragon S7edge, what is the model? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Does anyone know that? i know US S7 edges have the qualcomm processor, but which international model have it too?

China and South Korea are two regions that have the 820 as well.

There is no such device, all the Snapdragon versions are either carrier versions (USA and Japan) or do not have the right bands to work outside their domestic market (China)
The International version is the SM-G935F it's unlocked and support most bands, it's however an Exynos variant.

it seens there is, the s7 edge from hong kong.

I got this "However, if you’re in the US or China, you’ll be getting a Snapdragon 820" from there http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-review-679482/

This doesn't mean they are "International versions", they are not even unbranded.

Well according to Android authority only China and the US have the SD 820 which should mean that the international version should be exynos. I'm not sure what you mean by unbranded. I did hear that they removed the samsung branding in Japan or maybe China, I'm not sure. Is that what you're talking about.

By unbranded, I mean that they are not carrier specific versions, meaning they do not come with carrier specific bloatware or that they do not only specific carrier approved LTE bands.
Also, Japan will have the Snapdragon version but they are all to be carrier branded models as well from either NTT DoCoMo, Softbank or KDDI.

Isn't the carrier bloatware added once you put in the SIM card?

I beg to differ my friend. The carrier bloat is only added once the csc is applied through the SIM on the initial startup. I know that's how it is in Canada, not sure about how other countries do it. If you go through the phones secret mode and change your csc to Telus it will reset the phone and add Telus apps.

Unfortunately, all of the US variants are single CSC and the carrier bloatware is indeed baked into /system. I'd love it if there was a single multi-CSC US model, but there isn't.

So it's a Canadian think. Wasn't sure but I guess that with companies like Verizon and AT&T who are so aggressive with their bloat the single multi csc model doesn't work.

Differences between chinese and international

hi to all, i see flosmall and others start to sell chinese version of opo2, what are the differences? i know os is different, but i can install oxygen os to chinese one? there are others hw differences? thanks
Last year I ordered opo from china. You can unlock bootloader & flash oxygen os.All you have to confirm the bands match with the bands available in your country
Sent from my SM-N910G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can flash roms, but need to make sure the Bands are supported where you live. For the oneplus one people were able to unlock other bands. Maybe someone can unlock the bands on the Chinese version.
Chinese version is spied by chinese government. International is not.

It is dual sim, but apparently only has a single IMEI number, so can not be used with 2 sims outside China. Dual sim phones are pretty standard in China, they wouldn't remove such a key feature for that market.
The difference is the bands, especially 4G, and the OS. You can definitely flash OxygenOS as I have already done it. As for the bands, only time will tell.

The Chinese version is dual sim but only has 1 IMEI number hence outside China only one sim will work.
Can experts find a way to get over the same I know IMEI numbers are unique but there would be a way around it I am sure

The Chinese version will have very limited 4G compatibility in Europe and North America. More importantly, it only has one IMEI meaning you will not have dual-SIM capability outside of China. If you like having dual SIMs, do not buy the Chinese version.
So International version has 2 imei and dual sim support ?

Unlocked/International Version for use with US/GSM Carrier

I would definitely prefer an unbranded phone, usually that means 'International' model? Any suggestions on where I should be looking to buy one?
Here on "pre-order launch" day, the only offers I see are for carrier branded phones.
In case I've made an error in logic, I'll note what I'm trying to do: I use a MVNO GSM carrier with an unlimited data plan, so I'm looking for a "GSM" S7-EDGE that is carrier unlocked. I'll check the LTE bands and all... the question is, where to buy one of these?
Not sure on international models however you'll want to check out tmobile. There always unbranded and I believe I read somewhere it has all 4 bands except cmda? Can't confirm the cmda one. Also the bootloader are unlocked.
Expansys and eBay are your best bets when the time comes

TMOBILE phones are not Unbranded at all - they include a bunch of bloat and their branding is all over the software in their phones - I don't think they put the name TMOBILE on the phone itself, but I thnk Unbranded means much more than just that. I am not meaning to criticize, just pointing out the fact that I don't think TMOBILE Phones could be considered unbranded.
Having said that, they do work beautifully on other compatible networks.
Just preordered my Samsung Galaxy S7 (930T). Hopefully this T-Mobile phone will get rooted quick. I'm done with AT&T phones.... paid outright, and will unlock through T-Mobile....

My Bad... thanks for the heads up
Here's an unlocked probably European phone from Expansys
http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-unlocked-32gb-black-onyx-288135/
I think it's the European because it's listed as an Octa core (Processor: Octa-Core / 2.3 GHz Quad + 1.6 GHz Quad) if I'm not mistaken the SD820 isn't Octa but the Exynos is and Europe is supposed to be getting Exynos.
If those bands are correct that is very limiting. I'd still hold out and wait to see the full support listing.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Isn't that you can just use qualcomm's QXDM,QPST and DFS to unlock all the band? Just need have root first.
maybe, but you should rely on it. Let's just say for example Samsung changes how things are in this version or we can't find an exploit for 6 months to a 1 year? That's just me though. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
So I was planning to get the international version (Exynos) Galaxy S7 Edge, but After using the Live Chat on Samsung website, they told me as of today the International Version of S7 DOESN"T support the Samsung Pay yet.... any ideas?
I am trying to unlock one for my family member from t mobile. Anyway to unlock it for international use without paying a fortune?
---------- Post added at 04:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:16 AM ----------
Is it true what they are saying that when you first put the sim in the phone and turn it on it locks itself to that carrier?? SO IF I PUT IN att sim in tmobile phone it will be locked to att ?

I'm getting an Exynos S7 Edge and am thinking of installing an unbranded Rom from Sammobile, any idea which?
I'm in Australia, so no Samsung Pay yet, but it could be handy.
I'm sure certain European Roms get updates sooner too.
Ok, checked Sammobile again and this looks safe. Looks to be an unbranded Australian rom.

The S9 Plus, SM-G9650 (Hong Kong) is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, I'd be surprised to learn an SM-G9750 isn't. It should work on all CDMA Networks. In some instances sellers on Ebay and Amazon will state that particular variant isn't compatible when in fact it is, just to cover their rear ends.
my sprint sim isnt working for my 9750 out the box... i figured they couldnt do anything, but i called anyways, the sprint rep said if it were "unlocked" it would work, maybe its a network or regional lock, i dont know. Im trying everything to get it "unlocked"... if thats even the problem. Currently waiting on a paid sim unlock service to get back with me, see if they can help.
Any one get a HK s9 or s10 to work on sprint?
If it's Exynos it's not going to work on Sprint or Verizon.
My Exynos S9+ and Note9 work fine with TMO.

S10 Plus G9750 Chinese to Global ROM

Hi! I just recieved my G9750 Snapdragon 855 S10 Plus, which turned out to be a chinese one. Is it any way to install any non-chinese/global ROM onto it? Like a USA ROM, which is also a Snapdragon one? I live in the UK, but I wanted one with the Snapdragon chipset. Thanks for any help.
Also in the same situation
Ditto - imported to UK.

Of course it's include all languages, english also, but G9750 is for the Chinese market, so as the ROM is chinese. For example the Samsung Pay is Hong Kong specific one, with promotions from there. Etc....
So you wanted the G-9750 for the dual SIM functionality? I'm using the G-9750 in Canada, and Samsung Pay works. Did you try registering your CC?
All the S10's are dual SIM. I wanted the Snapdragon 855 version, cause it has better battery life compared to the Exynos version. I know that for sure, cause I had one at launch. And almost full support for the GCAM.

Yes Snapdragon has better battery life for screen on runtime. There is no international ROM for Chinese variant. You have to use the Hong Kong firmware by changing language to English. Samsung Pay works as well, just different ads from Hong Kong when you use it.

Yeah to be honest after a day with the phone - the only thing that makes it feel Chinese/HK is Samsung Pay... and I'm not entirely sure i'll be using it over GPay.
Looks like we have an unlocked bootloader though so will personally its just a matter of time until I brick my phone

Just adding to the discussion here....I'm living in mainland China, not Hong Kong, and am using a Chinese sim card in my S7 that i brought with me from North America. It works fine with the apps i had installed when I came over. This includes VPN services, the Google play store and all its goodies. I just purchased the S10+ G9750 here in mainland China (not in Hong Kong). I don't have it in my hand yet, but when I get it I expect it to be full of Chinese software and restricting type soft/bloatware that could potentially limit both my access to VPN and the Google play store (FWIW, i have heard many expats here who have bought local xiaomi's and huawei's and have tried to put a VPN on them on to have it magically disappear from their phones a few days/weeks afterwards...I assume there is some sort of setting or software that does this as VPN services are not "legal" in China. I have also heard of people having problems with certain western APKs when installing them on these same Chinese phones).
That said...I have a few questions....hopefully this is the correct place to ask them...
1) Is there a difference between a Hong Kong G9750 and a mainland China one?
2) Based on what I have read, my G9750 does have an unlockable bootloader....if so...
3) what am i able to do with an unlockable bootloader? It seems that people interchangeably use "rooting" and bootloading a new rom on to an international phone so i'm confused af. Flashing the firmware???
Ultimately, i would like to completely wash this Chinese phone of any potential BS Chinese software and install a western ROM (i.e., Canada or US) that will still make it work in China, but will still offer me all the Google play store and other western app functionality as I have currently with my s7.
Thoughts?

Variant list?

Is there a list of all the variants and their compatibility somewhere? Searched for one but nothing comes up.
I don't think there is a list, but in the United states there's the AT&T, t mobile, sprint, Verizon variants. As well as an unlocked firmware variant. There might be boost mobile and cricket variants too. There's a Hong Kong variant, Korean variant (I think), there might be an international version I don't know.
There might be more, but the above is what I have come across. Now as far as the model numbers here in the U.S. the AT&T variant which I have is G975U, this is also the model number for the Verizon, sprint, and t mobile variants. The unlocked variant is G975U1. There is also a G975F and G975N too.
