Hello
I got a problem with my oneplus 2. my sim 2 has imei=0
Baseband and sim 1 is alright.
tried restoring backup but didnt work
what can be done?
tried
1. full fastboot flash
2. installing rom via TWRP (zips)
3. eraseing persist and modemst1 and modemst2
4. switching sims.
IN all cases i get proper imei on sim 1 but 0 on sim 2
what i did before the problem arose?
1 i was on cm 13 by seraph. 8-3-2016 build
2. erased boot, system, recovery, userdate, cache, persist, and modem (including modemst1 and 2)
3. flashed boot,system,recovery,userdata,cache,persist and non-hlos from stock.
Any help?

Yes sir! no luck
Send it back to the oem. If you didn't make the proper backup then that is your only option.

I do have a EFS (rather entire stock) TWRP Backup taken when the phone was fully functional !
It gets restored successfully but still the same problem persists.

Stock rom backups never really work. Sounds like the partition is corrupted. Send it back. They may charge you for a new board. Not sure on that though.

Only way I am aware of is with a jtag system. Which is around 1500 and you have to have the software for it. This is why it's always smart to make a back up of the efs folder.
Let alone on dual sim device. This is why Google doesn't officially support dual sim devices.

Then to be honest I don't know what to say. Dual sim devices are not available in my part of the world as they are useless. You are gonna end up sending it back.
@tbiwalkar i have no idea of this actually as im from samsung descent and i know how to restore imei of samsung devices ( i have a guide for my previous phone in case youd like to check out, see my profile> all threads )

Is this for all the OPO mobiles? Aren't these modemst files mobile specific? (I mean different for each OPO?)
Im facing the same issue now. I was on Calkulin's OPO rom CM12.1 based. I took a backup in TWRP and then I flashed CM13 nightlies. Everything is fine. But still I took a backup in perfectly working condition. Now due to high battery drain, I wanted to revert back to CM12.1 backup and restored it in TWRP. That's it. No IMEI, No mobile signal. Wifi, Bluetooth and NFC are working fine.
This is second time. I dont remember what I did first time, but I did not struggle this much. I guess I flashed CM12 rom and everything was normal. But now, I even tried Color OS but no luck.
I want to try your modemst, but worried if it is phone specific.

Normally you're supposed to flash your own modemst1 and modemst2 bin files that you backed up via terminal emulator commands. I'm assuming that's some random persons modem files that the OP flashed to get network back. Try this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-brickloop-audio-fx-fc-efs-corrupt-t2879061
Do the steps mentioned to try and retrieve IMEI. Only if all others solutions fail should you try the last two commands in the guide;
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
then flash a CM Nightly and see if it gets your phone back to working normally

Well, I wish I would have ran into this a few months ago. I flashed everything except my neighbors and didn't have any luck. Thanks for sharing this.
Ok I have been an xda member for almost 8 years and this is my first thread , I have always found through search the answer to my problems with phones, but I cant for the life of me come up with anything on this. After ota upgrade to oxygenos 2.1.2 I lost lte (att/cricket) at first I thought it was imei related on att side, nope, then I tried reflashing modem manually through fastboot and somewhere in the procees went back and I had to reflash using hard bick method, after that I lost both imei and no signal , after a bunch of tinkering ive managed to get sim1 imei back but no signal!???? any ideas?
Same issue i got. Have sent a note to Support @ OnePlus. I have a Team Viewer session on coming sunday. Will let you know how it goes
hopefully it is software "fixable" and you we dont have to send it in to a repair center

Hello,
I have One plus 2 64 Gb its IMEI is 0
i have tried many roms Still its 0
also Tried to change imei using QPST, efs Pro, cdma tool, whenever i write its showing NV ITEMS Read Only
i have successfully installed diag and normal drivers.
and device is showing in under port tab.
please help me to remove that write protection
( I Dont Have any EFS Backup)
No networks are coming
Please Help
(Sorry For Worst English )
Just use the ordinary factory restore using the factory qualcomm tool from the "how to factory restore my phone" thread. That way your phone should be back to the state it came in.
Still its showing 0
is There any kernel that removed write protection from nv items? I want cmto change the imei permently with Original One
or xposed installer will change the whole Imei or just masks?

i think QPST configuration works, if its read only there is some other error
also a twrp backup of efs from some other phone will maybe fix it (dont ask for it)
Have you tried entering fastboot mode and doing a modemst erase? That fixed one of my IMEI numbers some time ago when I had the same problem that you detail. More info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65712557&postcount=3
i have used fastboot to earse modemst files
but it worked not fully whenever i reboot 1st imei is 0 and second one is shown again after i reboot first will show second one is 0
tired of this is there any way to edit nv items write protection by editing kernel?
even i have flashed one of my friends efs backup but the problem is still continued

After using fastboot erase command on modemst1 & modemst2,
My OP2's both sim slots stopped working,
So I flashed new+modem.zip by benschhold.
Which made sim-slot-1, work again !
But sadly, sim-slot-2 shows as "0", when checking through *#06#.
If somebody knows, how to write IMEI on OP2,
let me know.
bump..same problem
By bit of searching i've Found That firmware part is readonly, its not accepting any permission related read and Write. is there any way to rewrite it.?
or by modding kernel can we remove write protection? reply asap.

Which one OP2?
Any solution, for writing IMEI#2 for my OnePlus 2 ?
Phone is out of warranty,
No efs backup.
Qualcomm restore tool, didn't fix this problem either.
I know this probably won't help here BC I don't think Color OS was made for the OPO2. But I had this exact problem with my OP One... Saw on XDA where someone said to flash ColorOS and it fixed the problem. I have no idea why this would work but it did.
---------- Post added at 08:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 AM ----------
Is it possible that flashing Hydrogen OS could have the same effect on the OP2?
there is a usb dongle that can fix this thing, but i'm not too sure whether it can fix imei2 for our op2 or not
if someone reported works, i'm willing to buy this dongle also rather than use the phone faced the problem random reboot because of no imei2.

Google will not admit this but there were major security flaws in factory images before jan,2017.
Read for yourself below article.

Really?? Thats a big news for me its no problem do i know him or not.. How can you use someone else EFS/IMEI.. it would be 2 phones with same IMEI number..maybe it will work, but its like you use someone else ID card and present it like its yours..

Hey,
When the IMEI is corrupted on the software side, it still shows up using:
fastboot getvar all
So the IMEI is somehow corrupted on the EFS partition. How, I don't know. Seems like the EFS acts like a bridge between hardware/software. Of course, I could be wrong...
Some have tried but didn't succeed. Now, it's not the first time I see someone using another EFS backup and getting his IMEI back. I don't know why it would get "their"" original IMEI instead of the one included in the EFS backup either. But i guess they must all lie saying it fixed their device.
Cheers...
I have restored EFS using a backup from someone else's device EFS. It did not change my original imei.

Down do it. The efs is device dependent. It will contain things like your imei. So even if restored on another device it will end up causing issues due to the same imei on different devices. It can also make it so things like WiFi don't work

Guys can anyone share efs so that I can restore and save my phone..I Have no signal ispitevof detection sim card...it shows no service.. But when I use jio it shows full signal..kindly help..
I had similar problem with my OnePlus X. Apparently I was saving and restoring my efs partion with every twrp backup which eventually caused it to become currupt. Thought my phone was toast until a friend on telegram suggested deleting modem1 and modem2 files with adb commands. Sounded more destructive then good but it actually worked sim was reading again and got full use of my phone. It's good to make backup of efs but only once. Not sure if this is the fix for every phone but works with OnePlus and Xiaomi.
How to Fix EFS from Bootloader Mode using Fastboot commands
Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
Enable Developer options & USB debugging on your Android device.
Connect your device to the PC and open a command window on the PC.
Issue the following commands one by one:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot

hey guys i recently flashed pixel experience on my redmi k20 but i decided to revert back to stock so i flashed latest stable version through mi flash but now i am getting "find device storage corrupted your device is unsafe now" notifications did i messed something up? and i had an unlocked bootloader but now i cant unlock it. the error i get is "you should wait until 30 days before you can unlock another device"
once you've unlocked the bootloader, you can unlock it anytime again and as often as you want. have tested this several times, just once again with the same mi account unblock - without waiting.
how did you leave MIUI installed with MIflash and lock down on the bottom right?
You somehow corrupted your persist partition. When you are able to unlock again, you can fix that by flashing persist.img from fastboot image to persist partition via TWRP. You can't flash that via fastboot, that will not work. Be aware that you will loose Widevine L1 forever on MIUI (should still work on custom roms) unless you have a backup of your persist partition you can restore.

Of course, twrp must be installed.
