Depending on where you live, the modem may work well, or just be bad. For me in Australia, most Chinese models work well, but certain bands are missing so reception isn't as good.
(Speaking from using Xiaomi & Huawei; Never tested Samsung Chinese models anywhere out of China)
Also, Most signs of Google will be gone. Google doesn't work in China and subsequently, most (if not, all) Chinese Models of Phones are missing Gapps (Google Apps)
Others are minor (like boot logos) which i don't think most people will mind.
Hope this helped!
thats why I need someone with this phone to help me

4. Chip is snapdragon 820 which has some issues with termal Transfer (geting hot in Hand)
5. All Bands on boards - full LTE Support also 4 plus
6. Bootstrap is locked - no root possible (only for China and US model)
6. Link to buy with modified Software like i.e. languanges nad goggle etc. (etotalk dot com)
Take care

Hi , i have the chinese model as well ( SM-G9350 ) , i can not confirm that there is only chinese and englsh , i have full language support for all countrys.
About Google Play Store, i flashed the phone with Hong Kong firmware from "sammobile.com" and now i have the complete HK firmware including all Google Services
No google play, it's more expensive, and it's loaded with crap chinese software that you can't remove. Sorry for the late reply.

Hi,
I have the Galaxy S4 I9500 version, the snapdragon variant is not available for my region. Google now has launched the Google S4 - which I may be able to get since a friend of mine is coming over from the US. Cost is not an issue since I will sell the I9500 if I go for the Google version - both cost the same for me (we don't have carrier discounted versions in India)
I believe the Snapdragon is a wee bit faster than the octa-core, hopefully the Google edition will be more faster as it is devoid of bloatware.
My questions are:
Since it is a US device - unlike iphone the warranty will not work internationally?
Will the phone be blocked for only US sim-cards or something like that? If I use it in India / Europe and East Asia I am hoping it will work and not need any special code to be entered unlike the carrier locked versions
Anything else I need to be aware of before buying this?
Please respond and thanks in advance for your help - Your inputs will guide my decision in going for the Google version.
I would choose the snapdragon one due to better support, it should be unlocked if its not brought from a mobile carrier, warranty should be international, I'm thinking about one but my nexus4 has been alright so far so I'm going through these threads

1. The warranty would not be there in India. as The Phone has not launched in india thats why.
2. No,It woudl not be blocked for US carriers as the phone is a Non Contarct Based Phoen so you dont even need to unlock it to work in india ( however plz check the Base banmd that it supports and if that baseband works in india it woudl work for sure in india )
3. I personally Think u should not go for it as warranty would not be there. There woudl be ports or rom available for I9500 only.
Ouch! Why will there be a difference?
"China to Get High-End Version of Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM & 128GB ROM"
Could it be that the market has more competitive Phone choices?
I was looking for the 128Gb version because I kept seeing it would be released and the only version Tmobile is releasing is the 64Gb version. Seemed odd.
I think its retarded too, they should of just sold one model (6GB RAM/128GB) worldwide. When I had a Mate 9, I had to buy the CHN version for 6/128 compared to the normal 4/64. I might have to do it again if the CHN version supports all of TMO LTE bands. One thing I've experienced with CHN vs US phones is I get better reception with the US version even though the CHN supports all of TMO bands.
It's costs, it's probably cheaper over there, the price increase for 6gb/128gb in the UK would make the S8+ nearly 1000 quid!!!!!
Don't know what's going on... I'm in China and will hopefully grab one once they are up for sale... Worries me that there are no pre orders yet. Also... Needs to have an exact HK variant. If they aren't the same model as the HK variant, then I won't be able to exchange firmware, and then there is no way I will put myself through the torture of a phone without Google.NO WAY! I guess I'd wait until summer to pick up the 4gb version in my home country... Probably the metaphorical smoke will have cleared by then and things will have calmed down a bit to see what battery life is like. Worried I'll purchase another battery lemon like what happened to my 6p... Man, that battery died in a year and a bit.

Chinese model = no warranty so thats a deal breaker for me
6GB vs 4GB RAM you probably wont notice the difference in real world use
You can buy a 128GB SD card for much less than the difference in RRP between world and chinese models
Finally will the chinese model support the LTE bands required for your region and carrier?
Too many unknowns for me
it my have a global modem that supports all bands (bar cdma in the sd 835). agree, you wont notice much of a difference between 4/6 gb...
Will 6gb affect battery life in a negative way? I still doubt this will happen, but nonetheless, don't mind investigating thoughts on this matter.
Things to remember if you get the CHN version is no warranty, stuck on CHN ROM unless you root and install a different ROM and possible no wifi calling if your US carrier supports it.

I agree that being stuck on CHN firmware is a horror show if you are not a Mandarin/Chinese language user.
From another perspective, so long as there is a HK firmware for SAME model number, you should be able to change firmware to HK firmware from CHN Firmware using ODIN. Pretty simple process. I have managed to do this on several Samsung phones no worries. Only with the C7 (2016) did I recently come across some weirdness that was solved by an XDA member who prescribed a relatively painless ordering of ODIN processes.
However, Samsung used to have weird China only models that did not have a HK firmware variant... which completely sucked - My Note 4, SN-9108v was a horrible experience due to this firmware and model isolation practice. Also, there are some phones that are only sold in China and only come again with Chinese Firmware (possibly the C9 pro (2017) is an example - can't remember). If Samsung have chosen the same isolationist Chinese model practice for s8, then avoid it like the plague... You'll be buying into a joyless and expensive sans google experience that will only be tolerable with decent Mandarin skills to enjoy the plethora of Chinese app store equivalents to google.
At this stage, I cannot find any reliable links to Chinese and HK model numbers. Perhaps a Chinese based Mandarin XDA user can clarify. I am very interested in preordering this mythical Chinese s8+, but I am not in the industry and am a little time poor in terms of being able to research this. There certainly seems to be very little reputable information (in English) or easily found reputable information (via translate) that details exactly when or how pre-orders in China or HK will operate. Just unsubstantiated re-reported links and news stories about the 6Gb variant and blah blah blah.
Would be really great to hear from someone legitimately more informed than me in this matter.
Cheers!

128gb available in Korea ... interesting. Fingers crossed this type of deal pops up in China (and importantly, HK).
SM-G955NZKESKO/
That is because China has many local brands provide adequate device with only one third price. If you can maximum your specks. You will fail there!
Nope. I'm off the Sammy train. Thinking Xperia xz premium
Read an article that says Samsung is mulling over bringing the 6Gb to the US and other markets besides China / Korea. If this happens I would like to know who made the original not to release in other markets so I can kick then in the nuts.
I don't care if it is 4GB or 6. Just so long as it is NOT Snapdragon. Speed tests seem to already be confirming that the typical $#!++y ram management is still present in the Snapdragon S8 and S8+ phones. Also; If I were to buy the Snapdragon model, I would not be able to activate mobile hot spot on Cricket. You can with International phones (Exynos).
I wonder how much extra battery the 6gb version uses. I remember the ram upgrade ont he Uni used to eat battery.

Usually Samsung's Snapdragon version in Hong Kong or China have unlocked Bootloader and therefore should be able to get TWRP without too much problem. (That' the case of the S7 Snapdragon for instance: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7...ecovery-official-twrp-galaxy-s7-edge-t3458589 )

For people who are using the HK versions (G9550) in the UK, what problems are you facing in the normal day-to-day running?
I've been told that VoLTE and Wifi Calling do not work when using in the UK. Is this the case? What other "problems" or limitations are there on using the HK version in UK? How about samsung pay or android pay?
I ask because I'm seriously considering buying the 128GB/6GB version.

The n935f(ds) international model has more LTE frequencies than the weird korea specific s/k/l models, so you have a better chance to use it properly in the US either with t-mob or AT&T. Plus you can use it with 2 sim cards if you like or 1sim+1sd. The korean version has a dvb-t mpeg4 tuner but it is useless outside korea.
I bought my n935F from ebay from a US based seller (never_rrp or sth like that) for $530+fedex or something similar,I use it in Australia. If anyoone wondering it is malaysian stock.

Thanks. I believe you do not need a VR headset to test if it works. Oculus has removed Note 7 from supported devices, and never bothered to add support for Note FE.
If you can download and install Oculus VR apps, I believe it should work then.

No worries, polyrunner vr isn't supported on my s7 edge either, but does run anything samsung/oculus gear VR perfectly fine.
I just realized that Samsung Gear VR should come preinstalled in any sort (sometimes disabled).
So if you don't see anything VR in your app list then it probably answers the question.
Apart from that, does it come with a bloatware or some alien carrier logos or apps? From youtube reviews it seems that all FE's are carrier branded SK or KT providers. It even can be seen on screen while device booting.
Nope. N935F is not branded. and no carrier bloatware. Just find some youtube video review from malaysia/indonesia/thailand/vietnam reviewer. you can see it.

Gear service , gear shell and gear setup wizard is definitely in the firmware (same apps as they were in the n7). If you tell me any free VR stuff from oculus or other vendors which runs on s7 I can check it out for you if it starts on the FE or i get some bull**** error message
Btw the phone is not branded at all so no carrier apps or any bloatware beyond the usual samsung stuff, no custom boot/shutdown anim either. It comes with multi-CSC and my csc is xme since it is malaysian stock.
The only thing I miss is VoLTE in the settings, but i havent had volte with the unbranded n930f either (csc=xsa). I was thinking if i could change the csc to THL somehow because volte supposed to be available in thailand but i could not figure it out yet. The firmware files for different regions are absolutely identical since it is multicsc so flashing it with odin is pointless, short codes to enter the preconfig menu to change the product code/csc dont work either. I dont want to root the phone because i need other features like secure folder and secret mode in samsung internet

Biggest difference: Korean version doesn't have the fugly front logo whereas the "international" (actually: SEA) version does.
Logo does not bother me, i had it on my note7 too and never disturbed me. Hw differrence that the korean versions are crippled outside korea because of thr odd freqencies they support is more significant imho. What does SEA stand for btw?

Hi! I just recieved my G9750 Snapdragon 855 S10 Plus, which turned out to be a chinese one. Is it any way to install any non-chinese/global ROM onto it? Like a USA ROM, which is also a Snapdragon one? I live in the UK, but I wanted one with the Snapdragon chipset. Thanks for any help.
Also in the same situation
Ditto - imported to UK.

What do you mean by "which turned out to be a Chinese one"? Can't you set it to English? I have the G-9750 and everything is English.

Of course it's include all languages, english also, but G9750 is for the Chinese market, so as the ROM is chinese. For example the Samsung Pay is Hong Kong specific one, with promotions from there. Etc....
So you wanted the G-9750 for the dual SIM functionality? I'm using the G-9750 in Canada, and Samsung Pay works. Did you try registering your CC?
All the S10's are dual SIM. I wanted the Snapdragon 855 version, cause it has better battery life compared to the Exynos version. I know that for sure, cause I had one at launch. And almost full support for the GCAM.

Yes Snapdragon has better battery life for screen on runtime. There is no international ROM for Chinese variant. You have to use the Hong Kong firmware by changing language to English. Samsung Pay works as well, just different ads from Hong Kong when you use it.

Yeah to be honest after a day with the phone - the only thing that makes it feel Chinese/HK is Samsung Pay... and I'm not entirely sure i'll be using it over GPay.
Looks like we have an unlocked bootloader though so will personally its just a matter of time until I brick my phone

How did you find out it has an unlocked bootloader? The Snapdragon ones should be with the locked bootloader.

Hi, if I may ask that have you linked your Canadian cards to the G9750 and it works with Samsung Pay? I am planning to buy one but the Samsung Pay is very important to me...
adding to the same question , i have a HongKong variant (SM-G9750) with Unlocked bootloader (u get the option to unlock in developer mode) , i m using it in india with Jio & Vodafone (network providers).. when i was on roaming i saw my phone not picking up network that well compared to my friends on the same network diff phones. i guess thats coz their CSC is Indian and mine is Hong kong ( i can be wrong in this , correct if i am) in that case is there a way to flash Indian CSC or Multi CSC on my device.
hi everybody , i have s10 plus hong kong, it has a problem with battery, cell standby higher than 15% on mobile network 4g and 3g, is there any way to solve this problem ? while s10 5g cell standby only has 1%

Just adding to the discussion here....I'm living in mainland China, not Hong Kong, and am using a Chinese sim card in my S7 that i brought with me from North America. It works fine with the apps i had installed when I came over. This includes VPN services, the Google play store and all its goodies. I just purchased the S10+ G9750 here in mainland China (not in Hong Kong). I don't have it in my hand yet, but when I get it I expect it to be full of Chinese software and restricting type soft/bloatware that could potentially limit both my access to VPN and the Google play store (FWIW, i have heard many expats here who have bought local xiaomi's and huawei's and have tried to put a VPN on them on to have it magically disappear from their phones a few days/weeks afterwards...I assume there is some sort of setting or software that does this as VPN services are not "legal" in China. I have also heard of people having problems with certain western APKs when installing them on these same Chinese phones).
That said...I have a few questions....hopefully this is the correct place to ask them...
1) Is there a difference between a Hong Kong G9750 and a mainland China one?
2) Based on what I have read, my G9750 does have an unlockable bootloader....if so...
3) what am i able to do with an unlockable bootloader? It seems that people interchangeably use "rooting" and bootloading a new rom on to an international phone so i'm confused af. Flashing the firmware???
Ultimately, i would like to completely wash this Chinese phone of any potential BS Chinese software and install a western ROM (i.e., Canada or US) that will still make it work in China, but will still offer me all the Google play store and other western app functionality as I have currently with my s7.
Thoughts?
