Can't handle it, Lookout can't be disabled - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Anyone find a way to permanently disable Lookout? I disable it and it comes back a day or 2 later. Additionally T-Mobile Sling TV does the same thing.

Package Disabler Pro. Try that.

Seriously? I disabled Lookout on day 1, it has not come back. Same for T Mobile TV.

Mine hasn't come back either. Hope it doesn't. I'll be mad.

both apps came back again. manually disabling does not keep it that way

Mine hasn't came back.

No problem.
For what it's worth: After I disabled these I booted to Recovery and wiped the cache partition.
It was stuttering and laggy for the day, but after updating everything and a couple of reboots things have seemed to settle in nicely. Good luck!

Here is my Updated disabled. I had an issues with enhanced audio set up because of a package I had disabled. Also, I dot use Android Pay, Gear Stuff or VR stuff. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ajwyu5YpXo8VnyywF6caYaVEc3nL

Which package specifically was the problem with enhanced audio. Want to check and see if I have that one disabled.

It was either AudioConnectionService or SapaMonitor.
You can tell if you go:
Settings>Sounds>Sound Quality and Effects>Adapt Sound.
If adapt sound opens up then you are good. If adapt sound doesn't open after you tap on it, then you would need to re-enable one of the above. Sorry I don't remember exactly which one it was. But, its one of those. I actually have them both enabled with no change in performace or battery life btw.
Let me know if you need more help.

Carrier IQ

I read that the ATT Nougat update contains Carrier IQ. Can anyone confirm and if so tell me how to disable.

Is it? I downloaded one of those carrier IQ scanners and it said it wasn't found. Unless they've changed the package names. But when I was disabling a bunch of stuff with Package Disabled Pro I didn't see any of it. I used to disable it on all my old smartphones.

It's a service in android system. Package disabler pro won't work to disable it because it doesn't seem to get into the submenus. BK package disabler in the app store does though. In BK goto system>android system>services and you will find carrieriq plain as day, just toggle it off.

It's really disappointing. I was enjoying using that button as a "play next" for my music, and now that functionality is gone.

I hate being force fed a largely redundant and half-baked feature. I'll just go back to ignoring the button.

I just dont update.... I really hate Samsung is doing this. I'll just wait for a fix or Ill just stay on this ROM.
i havent got any ota, even though im using a cricket sim. but when i plug in my phone to smart switch, nothing. says up to date
There are a new series of "post update" bixy button remappers. I am currently using "bxactions" and it is lag free and works extremely well. I highly recommend check it out.
I had good luck with this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.schueller.byebyebixby .
I wonder if Samsung disabling the ability to capture the button is actually illegal in the USA as it would remove an accessibility feature required under the ADA. Business are getting sued because the their handicap parking sign isn't at the right height and stupid stuff like that.

Verizon voicemail messages stop short

Just discovered an issue where once I select the voice mail message it starts playing as soon as I put the phone to my ear the screen flashes on and the voicemail stops playing - it'll play if I use speaker but not if I listen to it via the ear piece - it stops after a few seconds. Maybe proximity sensor issue?

No Clue. I just know it works. Remove it and vvm works fine, messages will play when the phone is brought to the face or when you cover sensors. Install Samsung Pay again and the vvm goes back to stopping after one-two-three seconds or when you cover the sensors.

Holy smokes! Disabling all Use Favorite Card settings in Samsung Pay worked. However, when I re-enabled all of them it did it again. So I disabled ONLY the "Screen Off" option and now my voicemails play correctly. Thanks EQUAKE.

Root cause of the issue possibly lies in how Nougat handles security permissions since there are reports from S6/S7/Note 5 owners with the same issues when they were updated to Nougat from Samsung. Visual VM app definitely needs updating.
my 2 cents.

Disabling screen off still has the VM bug for me - what works for me is if you leave Lock screen and screen off on but turn off Home SCreen. Bizarre I know.
I have the issue and don't have Samsung pay....
I disabled "Use Favorite Cards" lock screen and screen off only (Left Home Screen on) and it fixed it for me.

battery Life on H872

For a while i was getting bad battery life due to using a LG app called LG Aura. Now that it's gone I've been seeing great battery life on my TMO G6 (H872).
I'm using it as general use. Not gaming.
Was playing with google cardboard.
Streaming YouTube & Netflix.
I'm impressed overall.
I usually get about 3 hours screen on time, 4 if I'm lucky. I use the doze app too and doesn't do much. Little bit of chrome, Snapchat, some light games.

I'd be happy to.
What seems to be the issue? I'm assuming you have both apps installed?
Then you'll want to force close both. Then, you want to go to Settings - Fingerprints & Security - Phone Administrators and then check make sure LG Service is active.
Then force close everything (recents clear all) and run Package disabler.. It should work now. Simply check the box to the right of the app you'd like to disable. If you press the app name it will also show you more info about the app and give you the ability to uninstall it there.
I understand the Package Disabler app has been removed from the Play Store but you seem to have it.
I'll also upload a copy of both in the next post in case someone else would like to try them as well..

But only $1.49 for it. I'd say do it and make sure you keep a backup with LG Backup..
