About to buy this phone.

Hey guys found 1 nexus 4 left on a tmobile store. good thing the sales man is my friend and he been saving it for me. Before buying it I would like to know what you think? I undecided if the one or the galaxy nexus. I like the quadcore and the 42+hspa speed on the nexus 4 but there are a lot of cool roms on the galaxy nexus. I also see that this is not aosp? Is that bad? Is there going to be more roms for this like with the s3 launcher and such. Also are the ports like the firefox os and other wip ports for the galaxy nexus will be on this one too?

This is AOSP. ROM development is already rocking and rolling and will only get better. Buy it and don't look back.

How many of you are looking forward to the Note 3 and why?

I'm new to note2 it's been a month already and I'm super Lovin my phone maybe if the note3 arrives I'll upgrade depending on the changes though.

I'm more looking forward to putting all the starters of Note 3 threads into a large meyal enclosure and running over them, multiple times, with a bus

I was but decided to go with the LG OG Pro. And couldn't be happier...

I really dislike the bezel on the Note II so I am looking forward towards an improvement on that front. Other than a slightly bigger screen and higher resolution I have no other wishes. Maybe they could increase the battery size, that would be awesome.
I just wish the would stop the gigahertz race going on in mobile right now.. I mean Intels Haswell is running on sub 1 watt and getting 2,0+ ghz while ARM tend to go over 1 watt quite often. :/

Good thing there are no other threads exactly like this one...

I don't like this thread. I like the other note 2 threads better.

I have had my note 2 for over 6 months now and normally with my previous mobiles I would count days untill the end of my 2 year contract. With this phone it's totally different. I'm more than happy and I don't really think about upgrading... even to Note 4 lol.

And how many of you are considering leaving XDA forum due to this kind of threads....

I wouldn't leave because of this kind of repeat thread.
This, the "wahwah upgrade me NOW" threads and the always popular "I'm leaving because I got the 'insert new phone here'" threads will alwaya be somewhere.
I spoke with a moderator and created a upgrade and other devices thread, but it's only useful if the community directs people to it.

Introduction.. Super Excited!

What's up everyone! Just ordered my Note 4 tonight, should have it by mid next week I'm looking forward to playing with it when I get it as well as talking with some of y'all and seeing what the Devs here have to offer for the N4! :thumbup: I've been dabbling in the XDA community since my HTC HD2 days when it was windows and I changed it to Android, since have had S2s, S3s, Note2s, etc.. Anyway! Enough BS! That's my introduction and I'm excited to come over soon! Thanks in Advance!

Do you think Development will crawl on this phone like on S6 Edge?

I really want this device But I am a huge flashaholic hence why I have a nexus 6 now and gave my note 4 to wife. But do think there will be enough interest here? I was looking at the T-Mobile s6 edge forum and there is 1 rom lol. Just hoping this phone will get some more mainstream developers. What do you think? Will that stop you from buying this phone? All interest is seems to be in note 5 camp now.

You already answered your own question. If you want development you have to go with the masses which is the nexus 6.

Unfortunately yes.

one reason why i should go 6p?

for 2 years ive been a oneplus guy and i love it , but recently its been falling apart (replaced mic , screen , camera) and it just isnt what it was! Willi get the same experience with this?

well it doesnt require rooting , but i want that available , i want unocked (carrier) , unlocked (boot loader) fully customizable , no bloat from carrier or manufacturer , usually only buy these kinds of phones , i know the nexus 6p is and same with the pure and 1+1 always has been , when did they release the 6 p in the states? i shouldnt have any problem with straight talk ? its ported to att

I have got a OPO and you will definitely get a better experience with 6p..Also the reason for getting 6p, You wasted enough time to post on xda to ask for reason instead of thinking one yourself

It's still one of the best phones out there. I tried the Samsung Galaxy s7, LG G5, and others. I still keep coming back to my good old 6P.
