[FIXED] Highly saturated and lagging when playing games. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Anybody else having this issue while playing? I play Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, and as soon as the game starts, the saturation and contrast goes up and makes the game lag. I used to play it on my S6 Edge, with no issues at all.
Edit: Currently, the Galaxy S7 forums has found a solution and works for S7 Edge, too. Still trying to figure out what the package is doing to some games. But try this solution here!
Basically, downloading a Package Disabler and disabling "GameService" works.
Thanks to user: AngioNicholai :good:

It's because you're using the "Game Launch" feature.

Doesn't happen to me whether the Game Launcher feature is on or off.
If I put it on Basic, then start the game, it stays on Basic.
But I did hear someone else complain about it. Since they were using a store demo, I suggested that might be the issue.

Any application that's set in the game launcher will apply those attributes even if the launcher itself is turned off.

Same issue here, my screen mode is basic, when i play games it saturated. I already disabled game launcher but still the same.

Same problem here ): just got it yesterday and decided to reinstall the apps I had on mg s6 and I can't launch any (high quality ) game with out it lagging . any solutions ?

Not sure what u guys are talking about i didnt feel any lag with that star wars game that sucks so much lol

downloded it to try the fuzz u guys are talking about but didnt feel any lag

Maybe something only present at the qualcomm or exynos version?

No lags when playing, just the over saturation is my concern. S7E Sprint I guess that's Snapdragon.

I play without the game launcher. Tried messing with the different power saving mode it offers, still not fixing it. Also happens to other games, Thumb Drift, Sky Force, Pac-Man 256, Smashy Roads. Other non 3D games work fine.
And by the way, after I take a screenshot, it will show right(true) colors, which is weird. So I can't really show the problem. But it is really highly saturated.

Take a vid maybe? Did you restore your apps upon setup?i didnt. I started fresh

Same here, over saturation on games. very annoying.

It worked! Thank you! What is that game service for anyway?

what free app can i use to remove this one?

If you're experiencing lag, try disabling Smart Stay in Display settings. I wasn't gaming, but I found that YouTube videos played in 1440p would lag and stutter when Smart Stay was enabled.

The package disabler worked for me. I couldn't stand the oversaturation on Marvel Puzzle Quest
---------- Post added at 10:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ----------
It also thought the app for my health insurance was a game and did it to that as well. Removing them from the launcher and then turning it off did nothing. Package disabler was the only solution I found.
This has to be a bug!

Package disabler is not free... perhaps a freeapp for this??? please?

[Q] &#!!$#!% programs keep installing themselves

I made the mistake of downloading a dumb stupid program that I saw in android market or something that was supposed to give me cool free programs once in a while. I don't know what it was I think it began with an "S" And than my desktop computer notified me of the thing and said do you want this? And I said OK...well now my nexus 7 is bombarded with crappy programs like 3 times a day with real annoying crappy games and junk.
How the #&!! Do I make the $#!z stop besides throwing the whole *$&* thing against the wall?

Besides the obvious (uninstall the junk) you could always factory reset.
Is this something you installed on your computer or your Nexus?
If it was from your computer I'd say change your password as whatever is doing the installing would need access to your account. If it's something on the tablet then uninstall it or do a malware scan (changing your password is still never a bad idea though).

ahh, i just figured out what it is...It's this...OK, whatever you do. DO NOT INSTALL THIS. You'd be so pissed off if u do.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appcaster.appsyncsettings
THAT'S WHAT DOES IT. I deleted it last week. And it's STILL installing junk. It installed thru my Desktop somehow with something i downloaded. I don't even remember what it was. Than the next thing i saw was this "MaxSearch" garbage on my nexus7. Ok, i'll try changing the password. Thanks, i'll let you know if it works tomorrow.
I already know it didn't work. Just now it already installed transformers legends. ahh yeah this blows.
Right after changing my password.
And i have auto updates turned off.;
It's screwed. I'm gonna have to revert to factory probly.
Read the reviews of the app. One person says how to remove it. Also flag it as inappropriate on the play store.
I agree. Report the app and leave a 1-star rating so others won't have the same problem

Go to accounts.google.com and make sure you haven't given anything fishy access to your account. It's also possible that it's just sideloading teh app through Unknown Sources, but that should bring up a security prompt (Install/Cancel), so I'm a little doubtful.
Report it to Google, its crap like this that Apple Fanboys pick up on, these dev's should be ashamed of themselves ruining a decent OS.
Nuff Said.
THE HAPPENING IS HERE
I warned you guys. I warned you about the government. You didn't listen. Now look what's happening. NSA backdoors, auto-installing spyware.

Throw Out Your Z5 Marshmallow SoT Screenshot

Hi all,
Lemme give you some of my information about my Z5 before we throw our SoT screenshot.
I bought it on UK amazon last October and it was international version. I checked it on Xperifirm and it said mine was taiwan version.
I was having battery drain problem and was guessing the problem was because different region might cause battery drain problem due to mobile data support. So I flashed it on US version and wanted to compare the battery life before and after update.
Due to new user policy I am not allowed to post the link to my SoT image, so i might just let you guys throw out screenshots. But for me I got 3h 43m screen on time when the battery is 16%. I unplugged the charge at 10am in the morning and record it at 1 am next day.
So here it is guys. If you updated your Z5 to 6.0 would you mind throwing out your SoT screenshot and give a comment about how you think about the battery performance for marshmallow so far.
Have a nice day!
You can't post a link to an image?
I am currently on About 4 hours and 40% battery.

Can someone help me figure outwhy my phone is constantly awake? looks like I should be getting at least an hour more screen time. Only have a few basic apps- Facebook, messenger, inbox, snapchat. seems like my android os is constantly downloading over WiFi? 53,000+ packets received via android OS - anyone else have this?
Pretty sure Facebook and Snapchat are huge drainers.

I updated recently so haven't had the chance to check battery time yet, but back on 5.x I noticed a huge difference when I uninstalled the Facebook app. I replaced it with just the mobile version since its nearly just as good anyways.
I don't use snapchat, but Facebook is on mine with emails constantly using data. Mostly on WiFi except about an hour a day.
Yesterday was a day for testing and making sure it all work. Wasn't a normal day, but you should be getting a little more. If you have just updated leave it a few days. Could be just setting up.

Stable root?

I rooted my s7 edge last year when the engboot solution first became available. It eventually caused my phone to heat up to the point where it shut down, and I had to restore stock firmware and just deal with it. I don't see any recent (2017) posts about rooting, and they all seem to be the same engboot + modified Odin root method. Is this method any more stable than last year? Can I leave my phone rooted permanently, or is it still just a sort of "test"?
The S7/S7 Edge don't have a bootloader unlock method, so the engineering bootloader is the only way to get root. Unfortunately, because it is debug-enabled, it runs slower and hotter. If you are also running the AT&T firmware, it is enough to turn it into a hot, laggy hell for some people. (myself included)
I haven't tried it rooting it myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if rooting the U firmware would yield decent results. I just gave up on rooting my S7 Edge in general, since I can do about 90% of what I want already without it.
I can confirm flashing the ufirmware then rooting has been a stable option for me. As a note idk if you want to test your antutu benchmark score before you root, I got just over 120000 the other day while rooted if that helps your decision at all. I haven't seen any problems others have run into after rooting. I get good battery life and the phone never freezes although I do get an occassional stutter. Hope this helps.
after a year a finnaly rooted s7, and after I odin back to stock like 5 times, finally root is very stable, using quickcic30 root bat and following his directions

Have you tried one of the package disablers? I was able to disable everything I didn't want except the software updater without root, and they are definitely disabled.
Samsung Pay is one of the packages you can kill, btw.
yes but at least when I tried several package disablers, but none if those work perfectly, specially after reboot, also those disablers drain more battery, but I guess if the s7 non rooted, with package disabler and add blockers running and such work allright for you thrn great, I missed too much adaway that blocks all the adds siletnly, no notifications on, and doesn't drain more battery and missed like hell titanium backup
