Flashed TWRP recovery and now when I install SU 2.49 phone keeps on saying root access is not properly installed . Is that due to the version of SU not compatible with 6.0 ??
How do I fix this ?

Thanks a bunch, it did. However I'm having trouble replacing the chinese SU program with SuperSU. It keeps failing when it tries to update the binary. May I ask if you had the same issue? And also, which custom recovery did you install onto yours? I see that both CWM and TWRP do not support this tab, so I'm a little stumped as to how to proceed.

..install first root checker. check if your really rooted.
....install busybox
....install SuperSu
....update binary in normal, if successful it will ask for a REBOOT
How to update
I need to update to kitkat my lenovo s5000
[Q] SuperSU gives me an error - "There is no binary installed" (Android 5.0)
I have just updated my nexus 4 to Andorid L 5.0 and I rooted the device using CF-Autoroot.
I have the SuperSu app but I dont have access to root and when I open it, it says :
"There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!
If you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device."
I am quite tired of unlocking my bootloader over and over again.
Is there a flashable zip that can fix this problem ?
Thank you!

Download Supersu beta 2.27 zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
But you need to have a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP to flash it.

you need to flash .img file of modified kernel from chainfire. and yr .zip of supersu will work
SuperSU 2.2.7 will work but CF-Autoroot flashes a modified kernel so you need to flash a stock kernel first then install SuperSU from TWRP. You can leave you bootloader unlocked.
Hello
I just installed Lollipop 5.1 and my problem is that when installing SuperSU and asks me to update the binary, I click on Normal and I get this error:
Error in installation!
Reboot and try again, please.
What do I do?
Then why don't you use recovery installation?
And second, almost every 5.1 is already pre-rooted ...
Have you changed SU too a system app? Then it's often normal that you must install over Recovery or Odin.

what rom you on ?
Have you asked over on the SuperSU thread? You're likely to get your answers there, once you provide Chainfire with a logcat.
Whether it is solved , I installed SuperSU with recovery , and it works properly.
Thanks!! :good:

Off Topic, but in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/official-cm11s-roms-ota-updates-t2906746, you will find signed flashable zips for 13.1 which can be flashed from TWRP.

Loosing root is expected. Next time you upgrade your ROM, you can try using FireFlash or something similar to try and retain root. But regarding bootloop I am not sure. I usually flash the ROM and gapps and let it boot. If everything is working, then only I flash superSU. Which version are you flashing anyways?
Anyone know why it wont stay

AAhh i see. Now i know where you are standing at. you are using magisk. But do you have magisksu ? or keep having supersu as main root but magisk installed? . What i mean to say is, when you go into the magisk app, in the 2nd box of the main screen, does it shows supersu as root method? or magisksu? if it is magisksu then you dont need supersu, now, if it does says supersu, then you do have to fix the issue of supersu to unroot by using supersu function and then go directly into recovery mode and flash magisksu once again.
It says majisksu

then you dont need su (unless you want it). It is because you already have magisksu (which is pretty much doing the same as su). one overrides the other and then one gets thrown out. Usually to install magisk manually, one does as follows:
1) install magisk app from playstore
2) give supersu access (granted to magisk su)
3) use unroot function in supersu
4) flash magisk zip in recovery mode.
Now, there are other methods to achieve magisksu but the point is that maisksu has changed the binary (which is what SuperSU is telling you that you dont have). But that doesnt mean you are not rooted. you are already rooted with magisk and can achieve pretty much anything that you could achieve with supersu. (it will ask you for prompts asking you whether you want to give su access to "x" or "y" app. etc... Now, if you want SuperSU, you could try to flash the magisk uninstaller. Then do the process of rooting that has been specified for your phone. That should return the SU binary to normality . (this assuming you try to unroot and then flash SU back but didnt work)
hey guys bought my ls997 used. has root because i get the flash screen (untrusted)and twrp is installed and working. how do i find out which to flash ? any advantages to use supersu over magisk ?
i installed magisk manager and it states no root found.
Majisk u have to turn root access on majisk works alot better
