Anyone willing to help a NOOB build my own AOSP ROM - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking for any dev's out there willing to help me build my own ROM. I have building just pure AOSP for awhile now for the Nexus 5 and now for the Nexus 6P. I am looking for help with things like adding SuperSU and adding features found in other ROM's out there. I have some knowledge (not much though) of using github and gerrit to cherry pick stuff, but I have a lot of trouble when it comes to fixing build errors. If anyone out there has the time and would be willing to help it would greatly appreciated. You can either reply here or feel free to PM me.

Attempting to build my first ROM

Hello Everyone!!!!
As the title states I am trying to build my first ROM from source, I am wanting to build a PAC-Man variant for our phone (AT&T S4).
I am currently installing Xubuntu 13.04 x64 on a old Pentium D (2.4 ghz with 2GB of RAM) and I am reading over this post while it is installing.
I am also reading over this thread as well. I assume I can try to build a CM 10.1 build first, LOKI it, then get it working then add the stuff in for PAC-man after that, but I am not sure. I was wanting to know if any ROM developers can point me in the right direction for learning how to compile ROM's from source. I know the typical rule here is to search, search, and if lost SEARCH MORE but I feel that I am missing knowledge on what to search for in the first place.
I hope to spend the next few days on this little project and if all works well I will attempt to maintain a Dev thread with updates every few days to a week.
Thanks for any information you all can provide and I appreciate any guidance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798056 this forum gave me a lot on insight when I started building my own rom. Hope it helps, best of luck to you!
I figured out how to install the SDK, and start building things, Its currently building the release right now, lets hope it doesn't blow up
EDIT: Would anyone be willing to try it if I feel its good enough to test?

I'll try it out! I was going to build it, but I don't have enough hard drive space with my BeanStalk repo set up

[Q] which AOSP 5.0 ROM for building yourself?

I am NOT a developer!
I am a Systems Administrator, and I have built a 4.2 before using ubuntu 14.04, with a SGS2 i9100.
I have attempted in the past to ask for a device tree so I could build my own pure AOSP, and no one was able to help me.
SO, I now have my hands on a S4, and I want to put 5.0 on it.
I can create the build environment. either the windows version or the ubuntu version.
What I would like to know is which ROM would provide me a bit of instructions on how to use and build their ROM.
I'm looking for a ROM as close to AOSP as possible.
Preferably without any CyanogenMod builds, but I hightly doubt that is possible.
Seems everyone is using them for some reason.
I've been going to the ROM's section and I see no instructions on how to BUILD the rom.
Sure, I see their Github, but no info in what environment its been build in.
Can someone assist in helping find a ROM, so I can contribute to this community once I get the feel for it?
thank you!
You can try building cm to understand the basis, then move to aosp

[REQUEST] s3ve3g NEOX Kernel recompiling.

Hello everyone, first of all I wanted to thank Renix63 for posting the cm12.1 neox kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...nel-cyanogenmod-12-1-overclock-1-593-t3230195
Very useful and fun kernel to use, however, I would like to add some custom features of my own (I want to add support for specific wireless USB cards that use Realtek, Atheros and Ralink chipsets).
I did flash the neox kernel onto my phone (together with resurrection remix rom) and got the .config file out, in order to start the 'make' process.
The thing is, that I have no idea which compiler I would be using, and how to give it the path to compile, or how to appoint it to the specific ARCH=arm kernel.
I really need someone to grant me any help, or somehow to enlighten me, PM, Skype, facebook or whatever else.
Thanks in advance for anyone who has the knowledge and willing to share it on this thread with me, and other who are reading it.
NOTE: i will be grateful if someone compiled the kernel for me BUT i would like to know how to do it myself.
Please please please help me, it will be highly appreciated since i was already been looking all over the internet and was working on it for more than 3 weeks straight, without any success.
I would like to thank all the extraordinary developers on this website regardless, especially Renix63 for his wonderful kernel.

LineageOS development [unofficial][To-Start]

Okay people, i know things do not look very good for this device, and yeah, we all are frustrated with the fact that no one is building any good rom(except this Resurrection Remix(on http://forum.le.com/in)) for this device.
I am thinking of trying to build the LineageOS for this device.
I am new to building roms, I have not developed any rom before, so this will be my very first experience.
I would very much appreciate any help that any of you may offer regarding any thing.
Be it any tutorial/guide, source codes, testers, or any thing else you have in mind.
I would be downloading the sources today and will look around for tutorials for porting roms with source code that i already have (thanks to that resurrection remix ROM dev 19wisnia89(on http://forum.le.com/in)).
I would also be contacting other devs of other devices for any help regarding the porting process and stuff.
If you know these stuff and would not mind helping me out, it would be very nice.
Please quote me on the reply here or PM me with anything here
Note: I would be needing testers because i don't quite own the device for myself, it's my mother's and i can't risk tempering with it, but I still want it to have a dev support.
All the best for the success, I also tried to compile the kernel and the source code is working completely fine without any modification but I was confused about the process of building the android So I will always help you whenever needs my help. and if you can guide me to building guide then i will also love to try that.

I have gone through the porting guide on CM wiki(through archive.org) a couple of times and a few more places, I have not downloaded the source code of Lineage os, but I have source code of cm13, so i'll build it first,

Building from source?

If I wanted to build CM 11 or CM 10.2 from GitHub source, could someone help me find build instructions? With the wiki gone, I feel a bit at sea and would like a tad more assistance than I can give myself by just crossing my fingers and hoping.
Honestly, I'd love to flash LineageOS 14, but it's not working for some reason so I figured I'd go with something that I've heard actually works.
The CM binary downloads I've found don't flash either, though, so if anyone experienced is willing to spend some time helping me figure this out, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
