Hello all
So had the phone for about a week now and really like it but miss a few things that had on Lollipop with Asus Zenfone
1. No pop up SMS, come on Google it is 2016!
2. Cannot seem to add my home as trusted place so phone doesn't lock.
3. Cannot answer calls with a text, so not answer but send a pre written text instead.
Have I missed something or have these been taken out or were they Asus based. If so if anyone can recommend some apps for these I would be most grateful!
Thanks
Paul

1. You have heads up SMS, which is way better.
2. You're doing it wrong, it's specifically made to use at places like your home.
3. Yes you can, just swipe up.

That must be from an app that you have installed. That doesn't happen on a stock 6P.

You don't need anti-virus or security on Android. They're nothing but resource hogs.

Life really doesn't work that way.
If you tape a "missing-dog" ad to a pole, plenty will see it. But it doesn't mean anybody knows where the dog is.

That is not the iPhone dialer, and by phone specific, I mean not all phones can use the same dialpad, the one you see is a stock dialer with modified graphics. Look through the threads, it's somewhere on this site, not wherever you got that pic from.

The dialer is mine... It relies on JPL4's JPLDialer Vista II and it uses modified graphics I created for my own use. So far it exists only in portrait since I never use my phone in landscape mode.
I'm happy to share it you like it. You'll have to install the dialer above, soft-reset, copy the content of the link below to your Windows directory and soft-reset one again.

Hi all, I would like to ask if anyone know how to disable the htc notifications screen, ie the full screen that pop up when you press the 3G/Battery icon. I would like to have the default windows menu back..
By the way, any know what the BsBtweak - Enable default windows notifactions to allow dismiss X time does?
Thanks a lot!

Not sure what you mean about "the default windows menu" in the first question, so I can't help with that, but I do know what the BsB option you mentioned does.
It adds a menu where you can select to snooze the alarm for various time periods. I use this as I simply won't get up with just 1 alarm. I'm very glad that option was discovered

I take it it worked then? I've not tried it myself as I like the notification screen as it is.
I have the opposite problem, I seem to have lost my HTC Notifiactions screen, and I really don't like the default windows bubble one. Is there an easy way to get it back? I don't really want to install a cab or hard reset. I will if I have to but just looking for alternatives first.
Cheers
I had posted this under development but figured that's probably more for roms and maybe better suited here. So apologies for the double post.
I like the HTC Dialer (find contact pictures load quicker than on the stock android contacts app), but the haptic feedback annoys the hell out of me.
So I took a look at how JsChiSurf disabled haptic feedback in the Hero's HTC Dialer app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=660506). Turns out it was pretty easy to port the same changes over to the HTC Dialer that comes with the Desire.
I've tested this on my Desire running Leedroid 2.2a and it works like a charm. Obviously I offer no guarantees, and make sure you have a nandroid backup to restore to just in case.
Just install the attached zip from recovery.
Nice, i will try it.

Ok you've either misunderstood me or not tried this yourself.
The HTC Dialer gives haptic feedback when you press each number on the pad. This cannot be disabled from settings.

No I thought he meant maybe 'diablous' is right and it's a user configurable option.
Either way, it's made the thread very confusing so if diablous or TieT reckon there is a way to turn it off without flashing the zip I wish they'd just say how to do it or admit they were wrong.
It's not a user configurable option. You have to flash this zip. There is an option to turn off haptic feedback but it does not affect dialer.
I've been using this only one day, and what a change! With an average of 110 outgoing calls, dialer eats 20% of my battery. Multiply by 3 vibrations per call - how much battery did I just save? A LOT! Thanks, again, it feels like a new phone altogether.
Thanks for clearing it up kumprise, I wish people wouldn't post if they don't know what they are talking about, I wasted about 10 minutes going through options thinking I was going mad.
Now flashed the zip, thanks very much z0mbi!

If you want to use tap to pay you will need to sideload the apk. You need 4.4 for this.
You can get that here: http://phandroid.com/2013/11/14/nexus-7-google-wallet-apk
Just go into security and make sure you have the box ticked off that says you can install from unknown sources.
EDIT: I have already purchased items wallet at Duane Reade so it is confirmed to work.

I don't think it's the card. I've used it to buy from the playstore before. I also put $20 onto Google Wallet to see what would happen. I'm not getting an option in the Tap n Pay section to add Google Wallet. I think thats where the issue is.
I've tried everything else I can think of though so maybe it is my card for some odd reason.
