Hi everyone. Today I want to share you. How to root new device Redmi Note 3 pro. Unlock bootloader not needed.
1. Enable Developer Functions: Go to Settings, About phone, 7 click on Miui version to enable Developer options.
2. Enable USB debugging: Go to Settings, Additional settings, Developer options, then turn on USB debugging.
3. Download and install this application from here.
static1(dot)romzj(dot)com/file/shuame/root/RootGenius_chrome_3.1.3_setup.exe
(see pictures 1,2,3 what you have to do when install application on PC and follow in reverse order: 3-2-1)
refer to pics here: en(dot)miui(dot)com/thread-234857-1-1.html
replace the "(dot)" with the punctuation
4. Turn on Wifi or Mobile data.
5. Connect your phone to computer via USB.
(a notif bubble should appear, allow USB debugging on phone)
6. Run the installed application (Root¾«Áé.exe) as admin from your PC, then click on button (picture 4). And wait.
7. Your phone will reboot automatically while process rooting is 65%.
(a notif bubble should appear again, allow USB debugging on phone again after reboot)
8. After this your phone will be rooted.
(If not. Plz go to home screen. Run application again, then click on root icon in menu.)
Good luck all!!!
Thanks to msmobile.vn
Does not work properly, breaks installs and security center, cannot install any apks after using this method.
Resets after reboot
Verdict: AVOID
Yes, i can't install any app from play store after "root"... and when you reboot it will be reset completely.
I successfully used this method from 7.1.1.16 Stable (bootloader still locked), and achieved temporary root only. So you can run Titanium Backup etc. and some individual apps which require root.
But no way to replace KingRoot with SuperSU.
Also, root does not survive reboot, and phone resets (takes a long time to reboot) - so cannot install e.g. Xposed (which requires reboot).
The method is safe - no data or apps are lost in the process.
Note I have since updated to 7.1.1.18 Stable, and this method no longer works at all (not even temporary root).
But I guess there is hope?
Now with the latest update rom, this process does not work at all.. The application simply does not do anything
Install the China DEV Rom 6.3.17 Then go to Security, Permissions, Root Access. Done.
How? http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#439
ROM: http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.3.17/miui_HMNote3Pro_6.3.17_6a6a3b709a_5.1.zip
Don't know how you did it w/o unlocking the bootloader.
unable to flash this via updater app, do i need to flash it via miflash tool???
Is this the Note 3 Pro Prime version?

I tried this method a while ago and SuperSume did NOT work on the RN3Pro.
Things might have changed but why would you even bother with KingoRoot?
Just root directly from developer ROM then install SuperSu from Play Store, or install TWRP and SuperSU from the start.

So after unlocking BL of stable ROM, and going through all the TWRP/other ways to gain root access - we can just flash to China Dev ROM (+unlocked BL), gain root access via Security>Permissions>Allow root access?

That's what I did, way back on 6.3.17. Once rooted I moved on to flashing TWRP and SuperSU. But if you just want root, then yes.

No, - You can try without wiping data but I wouldn't recommend as there are different app sets.
To preserve your data use the intrinsic MIUI backup to backup everything (This will back up all your user apps and settings). Then Wipe data / cache , flash new ROM, and run restore using the same tool. It works perfectly, except you will have to manually reinstate all your Google Accounts. For some reason the MIUI Backup tool doesn't play nicely with Google.

Hello Everyone
I understand that many of the users have tough time rooting their device and thus I have decided to look into Rooting using Exploit method over USB commands rather than flashing ROM. I would just look into what could be done as there are few differences between Z3 Compact device series but all use the same Snapdragon 801. This guide is intended for UNLOCKED & LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Make sure you check each method if it supports locked/unlocked bootloader or not. In case it is not mentioned, it is to be understood that it supports locked bootloader as well. However, if the method fails, please provide feedback and also update SuperSU in the script files.

-USB DEBUGGING
For this guide to work, make sure usb debugging is enabled.
Go to Settings> About>Build Number> tap it 7 times and "Developer Options" should appear in settings.
In Developer Options> Enable USB Debugging.
-USB DRIVERS
For these I suggest use Flashtool. However if you still have problem. I would update a guide for that as well

METHOD 1 (Kitkat/Lollipop. Unlocked/Locked Bootloaders)
1.Download latest SuperSU from HERE
2.Place supersu in your sd card
3.Install recovery from the link HERE and use the method as stated in the thread.
4.Once booted into recovery, flash supersu.zip. Make sure it is 2.37 or above for LP.
5.Done
Check FAQ 1
How to make a TA backup.
1. Download the latest version of Backup TA from here DOWNLOAD HERE
2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder location of your choosing.
3. Navigate to the folder location of Backup TA.
4. Make sure no other script or application which is using ADB is running.
5. Make sure the device is booted in normal mode (the way you normally use it).
6. Run Backup-TA.bat
7. Read the last paragraph of the license before continuing.
8. Read the information and follow the instructions given by the tool.
Someone pointed out that the script needs root to work.
UNLOCK bootloader from Official Website
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
Please note! It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases of this model. You can check if it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device by checking the service menu.
Open the Contacts app.
Click the menu button in the top right.
Click Settings.
Long press (for about 5 seconds) somewhere in the empty space just above soft key bar, and then release your finger. A button named Enter service code will then appear in the same area (this may take a few tries).
Click Enter service code. A dialler will appear.
Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialler.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked(bootloader).
If your bootloader can be unlocked, proceed to the above website and follow the on screen instructions. You do not need to download full adb , just download the platform tools attached with this guide.
Once you have working drivers, unlock bootloader, made backups and have usb enabled, you can proceed to the actual rooting process.
Backs are highly recommended but not a must .
There are a few methods due to differences in devices and one might work on all, one or none. The methods are arranged in preferred order but not necessarily to work in the same order.
METHOD 2: Kitkat Unlocked Bootloader
Download boot.img from attachment
unlock bootloader via Sony
Flash boot.img via flashtool or fastboot commands
METHOD#3
Use Kingo Root app
Enable USB debugging and run the application.

It is wise to make @ backup. However, I have always unlocked my boot loader via official Sony website and never had any problems even without a TA backup.

Guide updated and changes made!
I have unlocked bootloader, by oficiall way (Sony site). Phone is full reseted now. Can I back all data, whole system? I've made backup of all on the internal mem with TRWP. Will everything works normaly after that?
So if I access the service menu in the root section it says I cannot unlock the bootloader.
Is there a way to do so through unofficial means?
I did backup my TA so I just need to be able to do that :/
So far I'm unable to unlock the bootloader and never upload a custom recovery.
My model is D6603 with version 6.x of Android OS.
Is the capacity to to unlock the Bootloader bound to the android version?
I heard that I could root the phone if I downgrade to an older OS version and then do it... anybody can confirm?
For those with any trouble and that can't flash twrp, a full procedure for injecting TWRP into the kernel is here:

Hi guys I get this phone from not much time so i decide open this thread for explain the basic and necessary
1. How to unlock bootloader?
As all know Huawei web page for get unlock code not is working an also email assistance so how you can get the code,
well follow this:
- You must stay in a firmware less of 4.4.2 or 5.1.1 not 6.0 in my case I use this firmware "MT7-TL10C900B326" *If you're in 6.0, so must downgrade.
- Then to install or stay in a 4.4.2 or 5.1.1 base, download and install Kingroot (Phone will said u that could damage your phone but install it, no problem with it)
- Now open Kingroot and follow the instructions for root your device
- When all has sucessfull now install HonorTurner that can get in this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/unlock-code-via-honortuner-t3217651
- After to install grant the root access permission and go to this tab " Hardware Info" and look this line "WVLOCK" (This is our unlock code, so copy the code in a secure place)
- Now go to "Developer Options" If dont have enabled go to about phone info and press sometimes "Build Number", and enable "USB debugging and allow all and be sure that have installed huawei suite in your pc for get the drivers installed
- Now download the "SRK Tool" from this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-beta-02-20160501-t3369990
- After to download connect your phone to your PC, dont press nothing in the usb options, only connect
- Now run the SRK Tool and press 1. Unlock bootloader, will ask if you have your unlock code (that we get it with HonorTurner) so press Y, and will start the adb service and will ask for our code, after to add the code, the phone will reboot automatically and u can go to fastmode and look that your device know is unlocked
2. How to install recovery?
* If want install MM before of all u can do it, only be sure that have your bootloader unlocked
* For enter to bootloader mode press Vol + then Vol - and Power at the same time with the phone turn off
- Donwload latest recovery for your variant, in my case M7-TL10 (You can found it here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/huawei-mt7-l09-l10-stock-firmware-ota-t3275784)
- For M7-TL10 download this --> https://mega.nz/#!9kBWnY7T!ybhARn5UNXAyxrdQZ1ytKks24eCyzxkgdVhEza6zwFQ
- Connect your phone and be sure that have enabled USB Debugging option and have unlocked the bootloader
- Run the tool and select the recovery that want install
- Wait that the tool finish to install and will reboot automatically, and enjoy!
NOTE--> For enter to recovery mode press Vol + and Power at the same time with the phone turn off
3. How to root your phone?
For 4.4.2 and 5.1.1
- Download and install KingRoot from this link: http://king.myapp.com/myapp/kdown/img/RushRoot-CafeUser-release-nolog-sdk-lc64E08B246F910AF4-b220-svn372160-201609012210b_protected_signed.apk *(Phone will said u that could damage your phone but install it, no problem with it)
- Now open Kingroot and follow the instructions for root your device and wait
- And your phone will be rooted!!
For 6.0
- Download and install a custom recovery *Is necessary unlock your bootloader for it
- Download SuperSU with/without apk from here --> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=313042859668276376 or https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=313042859668276377 and copy to your phone, if both zip dont work so use this one https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=601296195406528565
- Go to recovery mode (Turn off the phone and press Vol + and Power at the same time of 5-7 seconds)
- Now search and install zip "SuperSU-vX.XX.zip" and wait that the installation finish
- Reboot and enjoy of your rooted phone in MM
I do this thread and guides in 1 place because I see that some info in the others threads are wrong or one in place and other in other place, so for this I decide do it, If any want another guide let me know and I'll add it in this thread, so enjoy of your Mate 7!

Updating guide
Hello friend. Sorry I write you here but it seems that you are good in rooting and I need some help as I am really desperate since I can't backup, and use the apps I need without root access. I always have been rooted in any phone but since I received an OTA update, around 1 giga , giving me the Version Android 6.0 on my phone MT7-TL10C00B561 (Chinese) I lost root.
I tried some guides for uncloking the bootloader but I get the msg like it has not been used for 14days or smth like this.
Can you(or someone) please help me as this phone is out since 1 and half year and I still can't get the root.
Thank you in advance.

just downgraded to B358 and i just lost ALL my important Data, photos, screenshoots (very important) , app datas , configurations ,,,,ALL !! I did not expected to loose the data...as i did not lost any data when i upgraded... but also i could not do any backup as i was not rooted so i could not save the app data etc... I am really sad !
Just hate this phone! Will try unlock bootloader and see if i can get root and update to MM.
So, by your guide i rooted with KingOroot the Lolipop.
Than the Phone got some updates by OTA and now i have the version B561 (all the log is in chinese)
So now i dont have the Root anymore.
I tried the recovery you have uploaded over, twrp 3.0 but when i enter recovery it does not askes me to update but only : reboot, wipe/reset , cache . (with emui logo)
so i guess i still dont have a costum recovery ?
How can i Root it with supersu if i cant choose the zip file with the supersu ?
doubt, and sorry for the silly questions :
- what is the better firmware? the asian version or the european ?
wich one should i use?
and, what about the ota updaes. how can i get them ? do i have to put the huawei recovery again after the root so i can get them ? right ?
and do the same procedure : update- installing costum recovery - root again and install again the huawei recovery ?
thank you !

Hi,
It seems it didnt install. Perhaps try again? Did you run the tool mentioned in the OP?
I'm not sure what the difference is between asian and european firmwares. I've jumped between middle-east and european roms, and didnt notice much difference.
If you are rooted, and you want OTA updates, you need to first un-root (can be done in the SuperSU app) and install huawei recovery, then you will receive updates.
Then you can just re-flash TWRP and SuperSU, and you are rooted again.

HOW TO ROOT YOUR XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 4X MTK aka NIKEL
DISCLAIMER:
There might be more than 1 way to root this phone, this tutorial is based off of the procedure I used to root my phone. For your device's safety do not mix resources (downloads) from other threads with this thread. I first rooted when my phone was on MIUI 8.2 and Android 6.0.1 (It still works on higher versions of the software). Before continuing with the procedure, you are responsible for your phone and what you do to it, this thread worked for me but doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you as well if you don't follow the steps correctly or use different files. Nonetheless, I take no responsibility for what happens to your phone if anything goes wrong.
Requirements:Unlocked Bootloader (Click here for the procedure)
Custom Recovery "TWRP" (Click here to download)
ABD Drivers (Click here to download)
SuperSU (Click here to download)
(Download the latest .zip file called "Recovery Flashable" NOT any APK's)
Procedure:
1) Unlock your Bootloader (skip if already unlocked)
2) Download all the required files
3) Install the ADB Drivers
4) Move the downloaded SuperSU zip file to your phone's SD CARD or internal memory
5) Open the .bat file inside the NIKEL FLASHKIT folder
- Οnce the batch opens select the first option (FLASH ZCX-TWRP 3.0.2-X FOR Redmi Note 4 MTK)
6) Enable USB Debugging
- Enable developer options by clicking couple of times on the MIUI Version (Settings > About Phone)
- After you've enabled the developer options, go to additional settings and find "developer options"
- Enable USB Debugging
7) Connect your phone to your PC
8) Follow the instructions being printed on the NIKEL FLASHKIT batch file you've previously opened
9) After your phone has entered TWRP go to Install and find the .zip of SuperSU
10) Select the file then swipe to install and reboot, DONE!

Well, you need an unlocked bootloader inorder to get root access.
Go apply for permissions if you haven't applied yet!

Flash the custom recovery (*.img) through fastboot command. For RN4 MTK there's limited custom recovery available, but you may consider trying Cofface TWRP or ZCX TWRP. After that you can install SuperSU or Magisk from custom recovery. There are plenty tutorials of flashing custom recovery and rooting device using TWRP in RN4 MTK device, search this forum or Google.

Thanks for your reply, I've searched for video tutorials regarding flashing etc. All the videos I've found are about RN4 and NOT RN4X (which I own), does that make any difference?

Doesn't matter sir, Xiaomi released 4/64GB MTK variant as wells, I assume you've the same.
Get TWRP for MTK variant of Redmi-note-4 and flash it. Nothing to worry.

Yes, sometimes it works with the first try, other times you have to manually enter fast boot, and other you may need to reconnect your USB while in the process. It can be tricky at some point but it eventually works out
i tried few times and it is just not working for me. i dunno what n how... i unlocked bootloader from mi site. and nothing i try seems to work for me.

Does it still work in the latest version of MIUI 9.5.1.0? I have successfully installed TWRP but the .zip file might be outdated.
Yesterday i bougth my MI A1 and it's a really amazing device, i just want to install the gcam but i don't know if for the May Update the gcam doesn't install, I am using a tool from here in XDA thah allow to install it without root but it just wiped my phone and doesn't install the cam, any sugestion? Should I install it with root?
Sorry for my bad english
Are you able to read and do just a little research that doesn't take as much as 5 minutes? There is something written in big red letters right at the top of that thread, you should read it before making new thread. Flash ROM with April Security patch, install Gcam and update to May Security patch.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to offend you, but at least do some research before posting a question that is answered million times in last few days, especially in that thread where you found tool for Gcam without root.

You can use my tool.
You can enable Camera2 Api without relocking bootloader.
It also pushes TWRP configuration files so that system is mounted read-only to preserve OTAs.
With unlocked bootloader you can receive OTAs normally. (and you can boot temporary TWRP to backup your data)

First select 0-Install drivers (if not already done).
If you have a locked bootloader:
Select 1 (Phone will reboot to fastboot mode).
Then 2 (If your bootloader is locked) Phone will be rebooted.
Then 3 (phone will boot temporary TWRP mounting system read-only).
When TWRP has booted select option 4: Phone will be rebooted.
Done.
You will have Camera2 Api enabled and bootloader unlocked (OTAs will work fine)
Unlocked bootloader:
If you have already unlocked the bootloader you can choose option 3 (boot TWRP) with phone connected with USB debug ON (no fastboot).
When TWRP has booted select option 4.
Done
WARNING:
Use option 5 (relock bootloader) ONLY IF you are on April firmware (or older) AND you have an unmodified system.

You can install Magisk with that booted recovery but you will have to uninstall it before install OTAs.
Don't mount system read-write and don't alter system files or OTAs will fail.

If you relock bootloader data will be wiped after May update.
You can:
downgrade to April (or older) firmware, enable API, relock THEN do OTAs
or
enable API and leave unlocked bootloader (OTA will work)

Please guys I need your help, have been on April security patch for awhile now and have received May security patch but it's not installing. I went on YouTube and found out that if I'm too install may security patch through miflash tool by flashing the ROM I won't be able to install gcam. So i did factory reset on my April security patch, installed gcam through the gcam tool and then tried to update it again, but it's still giving me the same error. So I then downloaded the full April security patch so I could flash it through miflash tool, but I noticed when I open the app on my PC and connect my phone through fastboot it connects, but when I click flash the app says "success" so quick and it force closes, my phone remains on fastboot, nothing happens. Please guys I don't know what to do anymore. Need your help.

Probably you have wrong/corrupted adb drivers.
Try reinstalling them or use another version.
Hello!
I have unlocked the bootloader of my Mate 10 lite and proceeded to flash TWRP and Magisk onto the device. But in doing so, I get an awful looking screen when I boot the device, so I thought I should relock the bootloader, now that TWRP has been flashed.
...I immediately regretted relocking the bootloader, as the system was inaccessible until I re-unlocked the bootloader and was able to access TWRP and the system again. So my question is, can you lock the bootloader with TWRP installed and still access the system?
Also, if I want to go back to full-stock, I have to download a stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder and flash it with some tool, correct?

Unfortunately, it's impossible...
You can flash Stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder (fullOTA-MF only!) using HwOTA, HuRupdater, Huawei Multi-tool (RUFI).
If You want to go back to full-stock with locked bootloader (not re-locked) , You have to flash Service ROM from dload (this process will erase all the data from your device!).

Whew. I got the bootloader AND FRP locked on me, and now I don't have a usable system. So now, I have to rely on eRecovery to download a 3GBs package and hope all things go well...the problem is, I'd need to find a place that offers fast WiFi...my internet is terrible.
EDIT: Got the system back up thanks to eRecovery. I'm not sure if I want to root or install a custom recovery on the Lite. I've realized even more that I should cherish my older phone, my Samsung Galaxy Win. At least this one isn't complicated or protected by Fort KNOX.
When u play with custom roms, u appreciate the customization/optimizations offered by developers, thanks to them. But with the time, u always feel stock ROM was best for this n that reasons. Recent 2/3 times I was able to use Huru Updater to get back to Stock ROM and it worked well (needs TWRP installed, and you may need to switch to other TWRP if u get error from existing)
You seem to be a beginner, so I would suggest to get help from some friends who can do it for you. Or obviously u can try ur self again and again, and learn good things until something finally works for u. You were able to relock bootloader so it means u have the code for ur device for locking/unlocking, save this code on at least 2 different places (email, google drive, dropbox etc.). Then u can easily unlock ur device again, and install Stock ROM etc.

Custom ROMs are the best thing to happen to the Galaxy Win, even if the available choices all have their compromises. But with the M10 lite, I think it's better to stick with stock and mod it. And I'm not exactly a beginner, but rooting the Galaxy Win and modifying it was no hard ordeal. Or the Galaxy Grand for that matter, which I changed its ROM entirely. The Mate 10 lite however, oh dear (wipes sweat).
I've got the system back up and re-fitted it with TWRP and installed Magisk. And yet, when I try backing up the data partition with TWRP, I meet a peculiar error. Excerpt from recovery.log:

I'd appreciate a solution to this.

I am certainly not up to what u r indicating so cant suggest a solution, earlier in my reply, I was only
indicating my experience with custom ROMs. I havent yet come across a single custom ROM for mate 10
lite that has no problems. Earlier Galaxy S4 Mini, there was custom ROM which was awsome, not a single issue
But for mate 10 lite camera problem is most common. Stock camera app often doesnt work or partially
works, restart of the app etc. You can install open camera, but it does not give u best shots, and filters.
Other issues are already discussed in every custom ROM thread, so I had to come back to Stock ROM
with magisk to remove any system apps that I dont need plus other goodies that magisk offers u (modules)
Alright, so I am supposed to install 347, but I uhh...can't, because I don't think TWRP is able to do it. What am I supposed to do in order to carry out the update successfully?

I just did your instructions today. All was going well up until installation of the new update. The first time, it rebooted when the progress bar was at 6%, then it rebooted again to the recovery, went up to 6% again before showing this screen:
Code:
Software install failed!
Failed to check the update files
Please download the package again
> Reboot system now
So I'm back to square one basically.
Also, I can't install updates to the built-in Huawei apps for some reason, even after flashing the stock recovery. I'm not sure what to do with both issues now...
