Hi,
I have on my rooted nexus player 6.0.1 Freedom v1.08b.
seen on the web that Freedom still works on NBA App
but when I'm trying to do it the NBA App "has stopped" inshort crashes.
NBA App version is the latest from google playstore 7.025
then if I want to use the NBA App without freedom, still crashes..
not until i uninstall the app then redownload it again on playstore to make it working again as non Freedom.
appreciate your advise.

I am running stock android 4.2.2 unrooted and I notice that some apps will utilise the full screen by hiding the navigation and notification bars when streaming video content. This occurs in apps such as Netflix, youtube, play movies, skygo and, I am sure, many others too. Unfortunately, in apps such as BBC iplayer, ITV player, BBC sport, the navigation bar remains.
I am aware that solutions for this can be found using root methods but, my question is, can the apk of individual apps be edited so that I can have this ability on an unrooted system?

You can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tsorn.FullScreen
The paid version let's you choose which apps (whitelist) will automatically use fullscreen and which do not.

After days of tweaking my brand new Amazon Fire TV to run XBMC. It's finally complete! I just finished installing Google Play Store. I installed a Custom XBMC Gotham 3.2 build. I installed Xbmchub's addons and settings ontop of that. FiredTV launcher. I set XBMC to launch when Amazon Fire TV starts up and by hitting the home button. Custom Splash and Wallpaper backgrounds. I'm so excited!
I'm familiar with XBMC from my pc and my G-Box MX2 android box but I'm loving this new Amazon Fire TV. It took sometime to figure out some stuff because I was not used to using adb and rooting devices so it was new to me.
I might uninstall the FiredTV launch screen. Don't really need it with XBMC starting right up now without having to go through the Amazon menu>Settings>Apps>XBMC.
I was having some buffering issues with running off of wifi so I wired the box last night. Video plays great now with no buffering issues.
Thanks to everyone for all of your hard work in customizing this great little machine!
I read about some people asking about Showbox on Fire TV. I sideloaded the apk for Showbox. The app itself works fine. You need a mouse to use it. Video play isn't working too good. I'm using an external player MX Player.
The app really isn't necessary if you have good add ons for XBMC. It's pretty pointless.
I also sideloaded Vudu onto the Amazon Fire TV. Vudu works great! But only allows you to watch movies in SD quality.
I installed the Chrome Beta web browser from Google Play. This way you can download and install .apks without having to sideload them.
I'm not an expert at this stuff but just sharing my experiences.

Even better is to put Spotify on it and then use rotation manager to make it play in the right orientation
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spydiko.rotationmanager
and the tablet metrics xposed module to make it play in tablet mode

Righ now, It's available on Amazon AppStore
http://www.amazon.com/YuppTV-for-fireTV/dp/B00L1C3300/
Thank you. It's a new app posted on 9/8/14. But the problem is that is asks you to activate with a code and I already have a couple of devices activated so I can't activate firetv. Anyway to modify it or install the tablet apk?

I tried to load a modded version of Pandora a while back but I remember I had some problem with it. I don't remember if it would force close or if I couldn't get past the login screen.. Could you provide more info on what you have loaded?
Has any1 checked if the gamecenter app is available for the nexus player?
Just checked on the web play store and it says my nexus player is not compatible. You could definitely sideload it but someone with gamecenter subscription would have to tell you if it works well for that purpose.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Thanks for checking
If there's anyone that wouldn't mind checking if NHL gamecenter app can be sideloaded, and works, I'd really appreciate it.
This is the only thing is holding me back from getting the player.

Yes it can work, but the interface is sideways however the video is correctly landscape. I watched a few games on it, but having a bluetooth keyboard and mouse with an OTG cable will aid you. It's hard to use with the bluetooth remote.
The easiest way to to it will be to install the SideLoad Launcher and AirDroid on the nexus player via the Google Play Store, register for an AirDriod account if you do not have one, add the Nexus Player, download the NHLGS APK and install the APK via AirDroid. You can then open the SideLoad launcher on the Nexus Player to see the NHL app.
Until there is another solution, this is the only way I found.
Kevin
Thanks for taking the time to check.
hey, does anyone happen to have the latest leanback netflix apk (with surround sound)?
i'd update netflix via google play, but netflix has completely disappeared from the australian play store for me. it doesn't even show up as an installed app within "my apps" in the store. weird.

Hi, is there anyone else uses the new Fire HD10 2019, deboated and with Google Apps installed?
I couldn't stream HD Videos from Amazon Play to my chromecast. Which works fine from my other (Samsung) tablets.
So i decide to install amazon video app from Google Play, but that doesn't work for me.
Does someone remove (i guess it's a system app on the HD10) and reinstall that app from google play?

Amazon Prime Video was installed on a system app that you cannot delete this unless device isn't rooted.
Following.
There has got to be someone that has de-bloated and still has amazon prime video and kindle books working.
