How to redeem Google play codes on Shield Tv - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I won a drawing on Android Police for a free download of Medal Gear Risen:Revengance. I have the code for redeeming on Google play but do not know how to redeem it so I can download to the Shield TV using the Play store app on the Shield TV. Can anyone help me?

If you visit the pay store on a PC there is a Redeem button towards the bottom on the left hand side.

I got the 25 dollar store credit but didn't get Transformers. Happen to anyone else?

I got an email about the 25 dollar credit but Transformers and the other free media content didn't show up on my device or in my play store account. If I navigate to Transformers Dark of the Moon in the store it just gives me the option to buy.
I don't understand. I have a US account. I bought my Nexus in the US. I am currently in the US.
The 25 dollar credit goes to any first time buyer/user of the N7. so anyone that buys an N7 will get the 25 dollar credit as of now. The Transformers Dark of the Moon movie was only for preordered devices, did you preorder your tablet or did you buy it in store?
Did you check your Play Movies & TV -> Movies on the N7?

Really? I thought Transformers was for every tablet. In any case, this was a tablet I bought at retail and was not pre-ordered. Problem solved.
Didnt get it.
I didnt get it and i preordered from google. The only reason i know is because i wanted to delete it because i use my transformer prime for movies . Dont want to over load my nexus 7 with a lot of bs.But still i dont know why i didnt have it.
I got my device from office depot and I got both the credit and the movie. The only way to watch the movie is in the Google movies and tv app. Did you check there? Also, the movie doesn't take up any space on your device, it is streamed each time you watch it.

This is not true. All Nexus 7's get the free content if you are in the States, preorder or not (mine was not a preorder).
If you are in other countries, some of the content is changed or not available at all (ouside of the UK for example).
They want you to get the free stuff including the $25 google bucks... it gives you the chance to try something that you might not otherwise try on your own. Thats why it is a Book, a Movie, a Song... and $25 google dollars for apps... each of the selling zones.
They want to make money on people buying content with their device like what Amazon wanted with the Kindle Fire.
On the Kindle Fire, they gave everyone a free Prime membership for that same purpose...

I picked up an account n7 at HMV in the UK and transformers was indeed on the device when I started up for the first time. Don't think it was downloaded as I was using a 3g tether at the time.
Edit:
I take that back, I didn't realise (never having tried a film from the play store before) that films appear to be streamed, at least it wouldn't play without a wifi connection.

[Q] Subscribing to magazines with the $25 credit from non US country

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if someone noticed that you cant subscribe to magazines from outside US while using VPN.
The $25 google play credit is grey. You can buy digital issues but you cant subscribe.
Is there a way I can use my google credit for magazines subscription somehow?
Thanks
As I understand it you can't use the credit for subscription. Not just outside the use

Well right now I'm back in Europe and I use VPN to get to the US play store. I haven't tried to subscribe before so.
Does anyone know a fix or a guide how to subscribe to magazines with your $25 google credit?
Thanks
Google explicitly specified that the 25 is only for apps.
Beamed from my Grouper
Thanks.
I didn't know that.

[Q] Are some apps restricted from using the $25 Play Store credit?

I just tried to purchase an App (Metaballs HD Live Wallpaper) and it wouldn't allow me to pay using the free $25 Play Store credit. I have $8 and change left. It displayed a message that this method of payment was declined.
I then tried another app (Olive Tree Bible Reader) and it allowed me to use the Play Store credit for that purchase.
Can developers specify that credits not be used to purchase their apps?
Anyone else experience issues with using Play Store credit to purchase apps?

Free Play Store Credit?

A couple of months ago, I convinced a friend to get the N7. While setting it up, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that she would get a free $25 in the play store for setting up Google Wallet!
The N10 is my first nexus device and my first Google Wallet-supported device, so I expected to be eligible for the same promotion. I set up Google Wallet, but didn't see anything about free Play store credit. Was the free credit offer only for N7?
I searched Google, but I get search overload/results about a free $10 for credit cards given to google wallet users. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

That promotion is no longer running, it was only for the n7. Also the $10 credit you speak of is also expired, that was offered to anyone who activated Google wallet when the app first launched.

Pre-order Google Play Store credit.

I just went to Google pay store to buy a new charger and cable for my new 6P and thought I would use my $50.00 credit from google for pre-ordering my 6P. But when I went to check out my $50 credit shows that its a “invalid payment method” WTF

Can only be used on the play store for apps, subscriptions, games, movies, music etc.
Google Play cannot not be used for any hardware. Only apps/games/movies/music/etc.
Any ideas on how to monetize the credit? I already have plenty of credit that will also expire soon, I could use the cash to buy some accessories instead

It won't expire as long as you keep adding to it. If you have the Opinion Rewards app, everytime you get your $.10 or so it extended to the period to whenever that latest credit expires.
Too bad, I need a charger and some cables for my 6P, not a new subscription, game, movie or music
Sell it on eBay. That's what I did.

Wait, the credit expires? How long do I never to use it?

You have received this service email to update you about your recent Google Store transaction.
at least you got the credit, I guess. Not hating or anything, but I was waiting for some gift funds to get to me before i ordered my 6p and the money didn't show up until the day after the credit promo expired, and i would have used it for IAPs for a game i'm obsessed with, so I really would have liked the credit :/
