Need original Google play magazines app for JB version 4.2.1

I deleted some system apps with root toolkit ages ago then tried to update recently it didn't work and had apply_patch_check (/system/app/books.apk ) etc when installing the update so I downloaded Google play books and some other missing apps and installed them as system apps via root explorer it is now stuck on apply_patch_check (/system/app/Magazines.apk) etc but I can't find the stock Google play magazines.apk for my device on the internet anywhere if someone could put a link to it (not the updated one on Google play) that would help ; )
(BTW the original .odex files would be good as well but are not needed)
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
If you get no other help, another option is to make a full nandroid backup of your current ROM, and then do a factory install of 4.2.1. Once there, pull the files you need and then restore (using the android backup) back to your customized ROM for patching.
Even though Google has pulled the 4.2.1 factory images, oldblue910 (OP of the OTA thread) has them all available on his site - select the nakasi/nakasig links on the rhs of the page based on the device you have.
good luck

APK Package installer

Hi everyone,
First of all, excuse my bad english (I'm french).
I'm now working in a company who's producing tablets for kids.
I'm not an android developper, just a project manager.
For the new version of our tablets (2013), we are going to pass the Google Approval (GSM) to have all the Google Apps in the tab (it was not the case for the previous version).
But, we need to include a lot of preloaded content in the tablet (games, books...) and we will be able to do that only after the Google approval, so all the installation apk files cannot be included in the ROM.
So, we are trying to find an app (included to our ROM) witch can automatically install a list of APK during the first launch of the tab.
Is there any application existing for that ?
My S3 is running Omega Rom and it's using AROMA installer : it's kind of similar function except the AROMA installer install the ROM and the apps at the same time, and I need to do it separately.
Thanks for your help and answers
Yea aroma installer sounds good..you guys can do something like..when the tablet boots up the first time it takes to the recovery and install the aroma zip...where the user can seect the thibgs they want automatically

Thanks for your answer ! I'll try with this tool then
Hi,
I have another question related to the same subject...
So, we plan to buid a specific ROM and to make Google approve it (GSM certification).
After the ROM will be signed by Google, we cannot touch it.
We will probably include AROMA to our ROM so that it can install a package of APK during the first launch of the tablet.
We will have to make different packages for each country because the preloaded apps will be different for each one.
Question is : what if the user have to make a hard reset on the tablet ?
Will he lose all the applications he installed ?
Is there a way not to destroy the "Data" partition during a hard reset ? Kind of hard reset without full wipe ?
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

You can put aroma apps to system app and make it deactivable!

[Q] Installing Samsung TTS HD on CM

With my rooted i9505 running stock ROM 4.2.2, and after downloading and installing the Samsung Text to Speech HD (french), I could navigate into system files and backup the APK : com.samsung.SMT.lang_fr_fr_l01-1.apk
After coming back to the last CyanogenMod nightly, I wanted to install it as a normal APK and the install process was done correctly with no error. However, there is no way to use it as an TTS engine. :crying:
I've done some websites reviews (including XDA) and it seems that I have to put the APK in a specifik folder with some special read/write levels (CHMOD) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239140
Could you please help me ? Samsung HD voices are really the best I've ever used !
Nobody knows ???

[Q] Cant install stock email apk

Hi everybody.
Im customizing my Note 3 N9005 rooted with the latest firmware I7.
I made a mistake using ROM Toolbox Pro and i stopped the service Exchange. That made my email application not function so i lost both services.
I made a backup of both before i touch anything but when i try to reinstall them with the same ROM Toolbox Pro, the program says it cant do it. Also with Roote Explorer into that application (very usefull with lots of options).
I also made a copy of all the APK into my Exsdcard and put the two APK with and without the ODEX files and nothing. In security i disable the setting that will allow to install them but nothing works. I even restart the phone with various settings and nothing changes.
So weird that original stocks APK cant be installed back.
Their name are SecEmail_Japk and SecExchange.apk. I reasure that i have both safely backed up but i cant install them again.
I tried K-9 but im acustom to this email apk. I also read something about flashing them but i dont even know how to do that (and make it worst).
Any help with this??
Thank you

Install LeEco Apps on Custom Rom?

Is it possible to install LeEco apps on a custom ROM (ie Lineage)? Specifically I would like to get the Notes along with MyLeEco so that I can sync to their cloud service.
Thanks!
Should work without probs, just get the .apk or backup the app
If you root your device , you will find the apk in /system/app/ dir .
If you not root , and I think you can get the apk from their official website.
Has anyone had any success with this? I tried restoring a Titanium Backup to a LineageOS install and it did not work...
I think there are a lot of dependencies and encryptions. May need a dev to weigh in but I don't think it's that simple
