I successfully updated from Kitkat to Lollipop on my Lenovo 830LC tablet.
Two further OTA updates also took well.
But the third OTA update today ended up with my tab getting stuck at the boot animation with the boot sound cut off near the end.
I tried factory reset from recovery but still no good.
Can anyone help me with an official stock Lollipop ROM for this model to flash again?
I have a stock Kitkat ROM but I shouldn't flash that as the bios has updated to the Lollipop bios.
I am facing the same issue. After OTA update, my tablet got stuck on bootloader.
Pls help on how to flash lollipop ROM?
I had the same issue with my 830F. After some research I found the ROMs in the russian Lenovo forums: lenovo-forums.ru/forum/398-yoga-tablet-2-8-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%88%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%BA%D0%B8/
I used the "(L) ОС 5.0" ROM for my device as this seems to be the ROM to flash from Lollipop to Lollipop.
The download also contains a tool to flash the ROM, but I had to edit the flash.xml because the system.img is to big:
change "fastboot flash system" to "fastboot -S 1G flash system"
I hope this works for you, too.
Any ideas how to go back to kitkat bios so that I can flash the kitkat ROM?

Can you do me a favor and check this thread and tell me if you think your method would work for my sister's 830F?

Does anyone have the restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2.zip file with them? I read that I can use this to restore my bios to KitKat from Lollipop bios on a thread here but the links seem to have been deleted/redacted.
Please pm me with a link if you have it or let me know how you can send it to me by pm.
Thanks.

It looks pretty similar to my case. The download I linked also contains the USB drivers to get the device recognized by ADB/fastboot.
If the flash tool then finds your device I would give it a try.

Do I have to change the flash.xml too like you said? The instructions at the Russian site don't mention this, but you have practical knowledge about this.
Thanks.

Well you can try without the change, maybe it works for you. I got an error while flashing because of the large file size. The "-S 1G" just tells fastboot to flash the file in chunks of 1GB.
Wow! Thanks @Funatiq
It worked, I flashed a Lollipop ROM from the Russian link you pointed out and with the edit to the flash.xml as you advised.
I'm back to a working tab once again.
Thanks a lot.
I love you so much @Funatiq !!!
I had the exact same issue than @penlax and you saved my tablet !

No you do NOT have to unlock your bootloader (because it is not a custom ROM) but you can only flash it if you already have an open recovery (TWRP, Philz Touch Recovery etc.)
btw you can install any input language on android

Yes I'm already rooted on 4.4.2 and I've TWRP recovery.
Should I flash it directly using recovery? I don't have a SD card. Can I put it on Internal memory or external USB flash memory and install it?
I'm sorry I'm kinda a beginner. I know a lot about iOS but I'm new to Android.
Would this work for any Z2 in all regions? I brought my Z2 from expansys and apparently mine is based in Germany by Vodafone.
I have a TWRP backup if something goes wrong but I like to know if there will be any other complications that my 4.4.4 stock backup can't fix. Thanks in advance.

You just have to ensure that your phone is D6503, not D6502.
And as far as I know, recovery isn't working on Lollipop yet. So once you flash this, you won't be able to easily restore your KitKat backup, unless you downgrade to KitKat ROM and go through the process of rooting and installing recovery.
would you be so kind to detail what you did in order to achieve dual recovery? did you use prf creator?
I think it only shows that the NDR Utils app works, but you can't enter or reboot into the actual Recovery yet.

Fyi if you want to get back to 4.4 and you have an unlocked bootloader all you need to do is flash the 4.4 boot.img (with recovery), boot into recovery and restore your backup.
Obviously the phone will bootloop if you try and boot it.
Has anyone else tried using Link2SD with this firmware (I'm talking about the application not the built-in feature in the OS) and encountered the following error: "Mount script error Mount script cannot be created. mount: Operation not permitted". I've recreated the second partition of the SD card and have made sure that Link2SD has the appropriate rights in the SuperSU. The issue still persists. Had no similar problems with Link2SD in KitKat.

TBH if you don't have time to look it up, you probably haven't got time to fix it when **** happens, so take a chill pill and wait until you have got time or it all gets sorted.

This worked for me as well. After the flash there were about 4 OTA updates to install. I had to set the region before they would install (mine did an update rebooted after I set the region) :
3. Go to the lenovo contacts manager. Create a dummy contact if the list is empty.
4. Go to Search / Find Contacts and enter ####6020#. It will ask you to select country code (first two latin letters, ignore Chinese).

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?
Thank you,

Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.

Nothing bad. Someone mentioned you making stock flashable zips. And here you made one. Right on dude.
So i had a custom rom on my tablet T530NU. Went to change ROMs and I forgot to back up, and everything was wiped...and i mean everything! I can get it to bootup to a basic recovery screen. But ODIN doesn't recognize my device. Tried to use KIES and still nothing. Anything I load onto my sdcard i can't load from the recovery. Although i am able to sideload thru ADB. But i keep getting the same error of
E: footer is wrong
E: signature verification failed.
Any suggestions.
Did you try to flash stock firmware. Am I right? If yes, try to flash the 4-pieces one

Then, do a flash of a 4 parts firmware, with odin. In that way, you are sure that you start with not messed up partitions or software. Ah, and I remember you that firmware must be based on Lollipop, not Kitkat.

Use this program and you'll get automatically the 4 parts firmware. Probably pit file could miss, but it shouldn't be a problem in your case

No I'm not a God, I'm just a little knowledged. When I was a "noob", I read a lot around forums and web pages. And later, of course, after getting some experience with different devices. You're welcome, by the way.
