Found Marshmellow Update Link for Honor 7
Hi,
I have purchased this phone but sadly its Model Number PLK-UL00 not PLK-L01. I have upgraded to the latest build EMUI4.0_PLK-UL00_6.3.1 which is Android Version 6.0.
My question is - can I upgrade to EU version of the firmware PLK-L01 B320 or less. All I want is to get rid of all the chinese apps and replace them with pure google + english ones. Please help
Can you make a banana milkshake with strawberries? You can't. Same with installing the European build Android on Indian, Chinese etc.

First of all, thanks for posting the link and secondly you can very well update you mobile as I have already done that with your link
Hi - Indian firmware version starts with PLK-UL00IN. My mobile firmware version is PLK-UL00. Shouldn't I be able to upgrade to the India firmware.
My apologies to the admin in advance as I have posted similar question in a different thread. But this thread is more suitable to the topic. I am a novice when it comes to firmware.
I tried updating , it failed.. the software update guidelines.pdf which was part of the update states "software version control problems, you should firstly upgrade a transfer package provided by R&D." wher do i get that ?

Hi I updated it with the link provided. Did the archive download properly? Since it's an internal document, I don't think the package is available in public domain. You can check for the rollback package which is given in one of the threads. It might work. Or use the honor multi tool.
Btw, this update is 2 steps forward and one step back. Some good features like visitor mode have been removed. Call recording has become problematic. Previously, I could record easily using boldbeast call recorder. Settings are much more difficult to find. On the positive side, battery backup has jumped tremendously. Plugged out at 9.40 am today. My phone is still at 75 percent at 6.30 pm with moderate use. There is no doze mode setting but I think they have incorporated some features as I can see that phone goes into sleep when screen is off much more frequently. Also, the awesome themes that lollipop had are no more there. Not even the live wallpapers. Mixed feelings about the update overall.

MD5 checksum is F697BB78C8E8202DC78716C8647E8706.
Yeah I was on 160 and did a local update as you suggested. Better download it again. But frankly, I am finding the update more regressive than progressive.

I think many of us may not be aware as how to perform local update in honor 7 which has marshmallow installed on it. I have gone through it and understand how it feels when you download an update and while trying to find local update option update app. Its frustrating and discouraging too. But I could find the way to do it on some other site. Its simple and easy. Just see below.
How to Update
Unpack the firmware package on your computer.
Transfer the extracted dload folder to your phone’s microSD card.
Take a backup of your important stuff using Huawei’s native app.
Safely unplug the USB cable and turn your phone off.
Reboot while holding Vol Up + Vol down + Power for a few seconds. Release Power upon vibration.
Once the upgrade starts let go of the volume keys and allow the installation to proceed.
And enjoy

I just got a Huawei P8lite ALE-L04 b131 (V100R001C578B131) and i can't upgrade to android lollipop 5.1
I have tried for hours to upgrade my phone the right way :
- downloading the 2 packs
- extracted them
- extracted the "kitkat to lollipop" pack into dload on a free sandisk 32gb sd card
- held volume +/- and power button
- But "Software install failed" ... I couldn't even get to the second part ...
It just seem that the b131 can't upgrade to lollipop 5.1
I'm not the only one who has this problem : Here's other people with the same problem on the Huawei web site forum :
community(.)gethuawei(.)com/devices/p8_lite/f/52/t/2713
Has anyone else gotten this problem? Does anybody know a way that I could try to upgrade to 5.1?
I really want to upgrade to 5.1, I don't want to be stuck on 4.4. My last phone (Moto g) at least had lollipop, now im regressing
Hello,
Try this guide: http://www.carbontesla.com/2015/10/update-huawei-p8-lite-ale-l04-to-b309-lollipop/
And read carefully this:
Step 1: Before you proceed you have to confirm that the device you’re holding is P8 Lite ALE-L04 and its running KitKat firmware (V100R001C00B124) with stock recovery.

Anyway my firmware is not the same as the one in the guide. Mine's V100R001C578B131. And therefore I don't think it will ever work with these files.
Maybe there are other packeages for my ALE-L04 b131 (V100R001C578B131) with 3.0 EMUI. I searched but couldn't find them; like if they just don't exist...

Hi buddy.
Which 5.0 build should I go for? I m using Honor 7 PLK-UL00 Indian version currently using the buggy MM 6.0 (PLK-UL00C675B341 build). I wanna roll back to 5.0 so I can make my external sd card as default storage, which isn't allowed in MM. Kindly suggest me which stable 5.0 version(mentioned below) would be best for me? Also if u can share the link containing step-by-step instructions on how to do that, that would be great. I got the ROMs from here - http://www.needrom.com/download/honor-7-plk-ul00/

Before I answer your query regarding which version should you use, I would like to inform yo that I am using B341 and it has the option to use SD card as default storage. Pl check attached screen recording to enable the SD card. Secondly, I am afraid if all those version downloaded from needrom is applicable for Indian version. Pl check the pdf doc attached with the rom before flashing as it may brick your phone.
If you still need to roll back then follow the steps below:
1. Download the rollback package attached in post #2.
2. Copy it to dload folder in SD Card. (If dload does not exist then create one)
3. Switch off your mobile and wait for few seconds
4. Press volume up, volume down and power button and hold till phone vibrates
5. Leave all buttons and allow roll back package to be installed. Phone will restart automatically.
6. Download any version of Marshmallow of your choice but be careful that it should be for Indian variant only.
7. Delete the rollback package from dload folder and copy newly downloaded LL package and repeat the flashing procedure.
** Enjoy ..

Did you check whether SD card is working as default storage?
Did your charging time get effected on 341?
My honor 7 got charged for like 45% in 122 minutes to be precise.
Where tf is fast charging gotta roll back asap.
I'll miss the screen recording and scrollshot in 5.0

Thank you first of all that you took out time to help me. I do understand that there is an option. I'm also using B341 but ever since I formatted my phone, that option isn't showing anymore. I've attached a screen for your reference. I was on lollipop when I got an OTA update of MM and I updated it. After that also that memory change option was there. Then a 182 MB OTA update came and I updated that too. Default memory option was still there. But then I factory restored my phone, still on B341 but that default memory option is gone, I don't know why
Surprisingly on twitter when I asked official honor support the same thing, they replied that in MM there's no such option by which I cud change default storage to external memory card. I was like....what the hell!! Bcoz I was using ext card as my default storage earlier on MM only.
Also there are lot of bugs like...
1. When I restart my phone I automatically get logged out of my apps like Twitter, One Drive etc.
2. My notification tones which I've set like custom notifications of Whats App and default tones of twitter etc gets set to default everytime I reboot my phone.
3. Also fast charging was blazing fast on this phone when it was on 5.0.X lollipop but ever since I updated to 6.0 MM, its not working that fast.
Waiting for your response. Also if you can tell me ur phone number so I cud reach u directly n sooner on Whats App or fb/twitter may be
Hullo, I am also looking to downgrade from MM (B341) to one of the earlier Lollipop versions ...
I was able to download the first file - the (transfer package) update.app
But... the link in the pdf file in post#2 (for PLK-UL00C675B170, THE FULL PACKAGE) doesnt have any Lollipop firmware to download - where / how do i get that?
needrom has a few options, but it agonizingly slow, and i would rather get the file from an official source....
What can i do?
Thanks.i am also thinking of downgrading to lollipop.Im not getting fast charging option after updating to marshmallow.u all getting fast charging option settings after marshmallow update? After update now it is taking more that 2 hours for full charge.Previously it was one hour only. Please help me to guide in this issue.Im confused whether i should downgrade or not.Im not at all satisfied after update. The default huwaei browser has gone. Now there is chrome only. For file trransfer usb mass storage mode of memory card is not available now

Download firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/huawei-p8-gra-l09-b321a-marshmallow-t3352572 , unzip "dload" folder to your sd card, in phone go to settings > update > local update, and it will automaticaly start upgrading.
Few thing you should know about Marshmallow:
- B321a is latest version for GRA-09 model
- Some users reports big battery drain, the others reports big gain in battery life (like me), so its about luck i quess
- Message led notification is not working (emails and everything else is working)
- system is noticable faster and has better UI
- in case of any trouble, downgrade process is pretty difficult for newbie, so you will need to study how to do that
Cheers
Hi,
You should first upgrade to the latest lollipop, that is B200 Full upgrade, then you go to the thread about marshmallow and follow instructions there.

i will just say that this can be fixed with use of light menager, aswell as setting different colours for notifications etc.

Have you found a solution for this? I checked the net and apparently this build number is for Orange Spain.
We have the same build number, GRA-L09 C109B190, and haven't found any solution on how we can get Marshmallow update unless we try to root our device.
Please keep me posted if you found anything. Thanks!

Afraid that I haven't found anything to assist me in upgrading the P8 to MM without rooting. :crying:
I recently stubbled across a Huawei german site, but so far they haven't provide much assistance...

I use google chrome to try to translate the German language .
Hope it helps
I'm still searching
Please let me know if you found a way how to update without rooting. I'm still searching as well and haven't really found any solutions. Tried to posts to different sites but haven't got any valuable reply. I'll keep you posted, mate. Cheers!
Hi, just want to share what Majaczos answer to my inquiry.
. It seems that you have branded software from your operator. First step - clean debranding:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...a-l09-t3210658
Second step - install B370:
2.http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...w-6-0-t3417212
You're doing it at your own risk. Remember that B370 is still a beta, some bugs may occur.
Currently my build number is GRA-L09 C900B170
And updating my device OTA to B200 version after finishing step 1.
Hopefully, I'll get an update to Marshmallow OTA as well.
Enjoy tinkering your device

1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...a-l09-t3210658
Second step - install B370:
2.http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...w-6-0-t3417212
You're doing it at your own risk. Remember that B370 is still a beta, some bugs may occur.
Currently my build number is GRA-L09 C900B170
And updating my device OTA to B200 version after finishing step 1.
Hopefully, I'll get an update to Marshmallow OTA as well.
Enjoy tinkering your device

I just upgraded to 6.0 and it was simple,
All the files required were in the German site that I listed above.
Everything was done using the full update, b200 and b321a
I did it via local update and emui.
It took me approximately 1 hour after I figured everything out.
I did not have unbranded my phone.
So far all is working great. Not sure if I will get OTA after the upgrade but ohh well
Hello everybody
I have a Huawei P8 (GRA-L09) with EMUI 4.0.1 on it. A friend of me has the exact same phone but in black, and he has already the 4.0.3 update. Which is for example eye-comfort what I really find useful. Update-management and HiSuite can't find any updates. Is there a way to get the update anyway? Note: I have bought him refurbished with Android 6.0, and when I boot, I see the logo of Vodaphone. How can I update my phone?
Thank you!

The most likely reason you're not getting past 4.0.1 is because your phone is network-branded - by Vodafone in your case.
So, unless you debrand your phone (example here) to enable you to safely install the latest non-branded update(s) manually, you'll have to wait for Vodafone to release newer updates.
Can you tell us the full 'Build number' in Settings > About phone (in this format or similar: GRA-L09CxxxBxxx). Also, which country you bought the phone from?
Thanks for your reaction! I don't have experience with that sort of things so I'm not going to try that. Thanks anyway for the idea. My buildnumber is GRA-L09C02B397. I've bought the phone on greenmobile.nl, so I think he's from the Netherlands.

No problem, I was not recommending to try it, but only mentioned it so you'll understand the difference, & that it is possible.
Anyway, I think you're in luck, as Vodafone have released a EMUI 4.0.3 update, which you can get from here (view the screenshot posted by djg269 in post #3): [Firmware] Huawei P8 GRA-L09C432 B403 posted by member Kris van Kooten

I've no idea, as these things differ from one company to another.
As you'll be applying an official network update, it shouldn't be a problem, but if in doubt ask greenmobile.
I have the same problem kindly help me
The problem.is same but my model no is GRA-LO9C02B191.It is not detecting any update what should i do?
1st hint
Go settings > update > menu > download last full update. It is possible that hidden update will show.
2nd hint:
Download B200 official update, transfer on SD card and update manually. Then all updates shall be possible to do.
3rd hint:
Make debranding as in tutorial and then install on B170 a B200 update as in hint 2. Somwhere near B380 it will be required to make as in hint 1 to get B520 (newest one)
now oreo update is available in hisuite for frd-l09c432 and frd-l09c10
it is official
Today? I've updated officially through hisuite my FRD-L09 in Italy on 16th August, where do you live?
Did mine update this morning via Hisuite also my device LRD-L09 (C432) all factory standard phone.
So far all seem smooth using Nova Launcher as I just used to this..
Update:
Huawei file manager in Oreo is 10.1.2.302.EU and this offered me an OTA update package to 10.1.2.303 EU. which I had downloaded. Now after this update File manger I could not select any file apk, image, doc, mp4 with file manger shutting down once said file was selected. I had cleaned the cache rebooted device still same thing. So I downloaded and install a 3ed party file manager and this worked as it suppose to.
I could not uninstall Huawei file manager update via phone, so I connected the phone to a computer and used Hisuite to uninstall the new File manager update so its back to 10.1.2.302EU build and all is working as it should. Also uninstall the 3rd party file manger..
Did anyone experience such issue?

Hello,
I don't understand why I'm still in Android 7 (FRD-L09C432B405). I see a lot of people with Oreo on a L09. I tried with HiSuite and OTA and still nothing. Any idea ?
Thank you

My bootloader locked, I'm not rooted, I don't have custom recovery..

I have info from Huawei Support .
"The update was rolled out on 20.08.18. From this day on it can take up to 8 weeks until it is available on your device. So I can only ask for your patience at the moment."
So there are 15 days to update All that's left is to wait

Guys dont become too excited. We got Oreo on HiSuite at the end of August. (Hungary)
But a couple of days ago there was a new OTA update, after that (B412) we cant update to Oreo anymore.
Because B412 doesnt see the Oreo as an update, and if someone is on B407, the newest rom will be B412 for him/her.

I live in Hungary too and have this exact model (L09C432) I did the full OTA for B412 last week.
Before that I was in B405, I tried to update via HiSuite the whole september month (with an hungarian IP address), in vain..
Never been able to get the B407 either BTW
Before the B412, u had to touch the tree small square/circle in the update menu, then u could select "Download newest full update package" or something like that. Now it will pop u up the 412.
Check Hungarian Prohardver forum. I will upload the B521, Oreo Full-Ota-Mf-PV ROM at the weekend, then u will be able to install that through the 3 button method or service menu. If u need u will find there a tutorial too, it doesn't need root anything like that.
Cheers mate
