I saw that in lollipop too but it isn't OCR. It only shows the [ T ] icon when there is an actual Textview or text for example in chrome. and it only copies the text from the original textview
go ahead and take a screenshot of your screen you just posted and then try to recognize characters from the picture and there wont be a [ T ] when using smart select

I just took screen shot of your reply on my Note 5 and saved it to the gallery. Then I open the screen shot and used smart select and it did extract the text out of the picture
I took a picture directly from my pc screen and I was able to extract the text out of it.

The original Note4 stylus could read a text from any JPG file (graphic and not screen text only) by ocr using smart select.
After the lollipop upgrade and now with Marshmallow this not possible.
Ocr from A screeNshot of text works. But not from a pictorial text as I'd did previously.
Wonder why Samsung killed this powerful feature.

hi ,
I read your post and decided to test my OCR features ,on any random text.. image jpg file , i had in pic gallery .(Apart from screenshots )
I found that with clear text( in text/image jpg) and websites ,it works 100 %.
I must add if your text is a bit "vague"/unclear " then yes ,you get a " mumble jumble" text .!
I am on Marshmallow .
So for me it is possible and the OCR feature works fine .
Maybe Rom related ..??..........
but i know for sure it still works !
good luck

Is there a way to get it to save to storage card?
I did a search of the registry and not sure if one of those is it.
They're all install path's that I found, so I don't think they are.
Is it in the exe itself?
Edit: Maybe a future addition: add a way to choose your own location the pics save at.
But I love this app! Thanks for this!!
I am able to take a screen shot and then I go to the file and click on the picture file and press copy.
I then go to a forum and when I want to paste the screenshot, I get a select all pop up, and not a paste pop up.
My question is how do I paste the screenshot within the text I am typing?
Thanks for any help. I am sure there is a simple answer
Great application!
Handy to take screenshots of your homepage for the "post your diamond home screen" topic !
Thanks m8
I am unable to Copy and Paste a screen shot to post them.
Any suggestions?
Good work, thanks.
Thanks
that's cool app.
I noticed that in the S Notes app the pen menu no longer overlaps the top of the page and covers the input fields. That's handy. :good: Also the pen thicknesses tend to be a little bigger.
Hey this is cool. If you swipe your finger to the left in S-Notes app the pages flip like in a book.
The have also added a sketch recording button to the Note Template like the used to have just on the Idea Note. Again, cool.
I have noticed that when I exit a folder on the home screen the keyboard no longer pops up.
I don't know if they had this before but you can insert video and shapes into S-Notes from the Images menu. Awesome. S-Notes embedded with video.
They added an S Note widget. It shows the 6 templates and allows you to create a note straight from the widget. I'd still like a widget like the S Memo widget on the Note that shows the actual note, but it's better than nothing.

It says exFAT when I look at it in a Windows 7 PC.
I can also confirm that exFAT 64GB MicroSDs work after the update.

Since I'm using Apex launcher, at present - still testing - I don't get that widget. Found another one called calendar that accesses the same app, so I'm happy. Thanks.
If you are unhappy with the limited backgrounds that come with S-Notes, don't worry, using any image in your tablet as a background for your notes is easy to do.
** Thanks to BarryH_GEG for pointing me in the right direction on this idea
From the S-Notes home screen, before clicking the "+" button to create a new note, import an image using the menu. This image will be your note's background. Once the image has imported the template chooser will appear. Select the template you wish. Once you have selected the template your new notebook will appear with your chosen background using the template you selected.
Cool, right?

Two more nice "chalkboard" type backgrounds if you like writing with white pen on dark surface as I do. This look should appeal to students who want to capture that classroom and blackboard feel in your notes.

Yes-- i believe you will need to follow the steps above each time you have a new notebook. And i think it will stay the same for each additional page you do in the notebook.

Yes, if you import the image at the start of the note it remains for all pages. If you change the background from within the note you have to redo it.

You should be able to save any image of ruled/lined paper off of google and use that for a background. I don't know if there is a recommended size or not.

Get a free app called Write and adjust the lines and side rule to the size you want then take a sceen shot and resize the image to the size you need and use that for your s-note template.

YotaTextCover makes it possible to display a custom text on the back screen of your YotaPhone 2. You can rotate the text in steps of 45° and optionally center it.
Just install YotaTextCover and choose it as cover in YotaHub.
If you see ghosting on the back screen after changing the text, please swipe to another screen and back so that the screen refreshes completely.

Images as background or instead of text is possible and maybe I add this feature. An option to automatically move/rotate/scroll the text or change it every x seconds/minutes/etc. would be great and I already thought about that, but I have not found out yet how to refresh the EPD from within a widget (and that is needed to prevent ghosting) - the documentation of YotaPhone SDK is a bit..uhm.. simple.
One of the points on my to-do list is to add Tasker support so you can display any text you want (time, date, battery, current wifi etc.).
I don't think YotaTextCover is ideal for note taking, but you can try "Notes" widget from Yota Devices (search for it in YotaHub).
I was waiting for something like this thanks a lot. I was thinking, if you update it to add the ability to change font and size and allow longer text.
Sent from my YD201 using Tapatalk
If the widgets can be set to run Tasker tasks when pressed as well it would be perfect
YotaTextCover is now open source: https://github.com/munterkofler/YotaTextCover
Feedback is welcome!
It would be great if one could add a number of texts which then change from time to time. So exactly the same as this app provides, but one would write different texts and the app would cycle through these texts and change it regularely.
Hi...

Does it requires Lollipop?
Or, can I have direct download link to the APK?

hello everyone.
im having problems with (Native Clipboard manager)
this amazing application simply gives you better and bigger Clipboard (bigger than the one that comes with the s8+)
my problem is that when i click on search in Clipboard, once i write something and click "ok" , the whole Clipboard closes without any errors or crashes, I can't use that function no matter what i do. and i can't find any app like this (I don't like Clipboards that stick on notification bar)
things I've tried to solve the problem:
i activated it in "accessibility" and tried to restart
tried to enable/disable hardware key monitoring (in the app)
tried to activate/deactivate "single paste" mode (in app)
not sure if i should disable these or not (im rooted)

Yes, look at this problem when copying, you cannot find it in the Android 10 GLAXY S9 + folder as if the phone does not want to save the programs what you copied.
