Notification, Ringtones, and Alarms - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys! I'm trying to find the best notification, ringtone, alarm, combo out there. Any suggestions? I have a hotline bling remix for ringtone that I got from Zedge that I enjoy. It isn't as annoying when you hear it a bunch as with other Ringtones. For notification I have the Frank Underwood one from House of Cards but it's getting on my nerves when I get several notifications in a short amount of time. Any suggestions?

Here is a flashable zip file that will replace all your UI + Ringtone + Notification + Alarm sounds with the Nokia X ones. I love these
To revert back to your old sounds, just reflash your ROM.

Ringtone

Is there a way to keep the Vibrant from using the Ascending Ringtone style OR is this something that samsung keeps on this phone, or on all its phones for that matter
Thanks

crappy calendar notification

if you set an alarm on the calender item you get a 2 sec. sound and that is it..
anyone know a way to change the calender notification sound and/or make it longer... and louder thanks.
You cannot change the sound so easily. The SGS would need a trackpad ou touchpad to select the Calender of which you want to change the notification sound.
But you can try searching calender notifier in market. This should allow you to change the sound. Personally haven´t tried it because i don´t use the calender to remind me.

this pissing me off too:/
Yeah, and I thought I ve done something wrong. Unbelivable. I am starting to think that Android has not so much over Symbian. Very dissapointed. For every little damn thing we need to get a third party application. I am moving to Nokia N8 as soon as it's released. This android is exactly like windows mobile. A bunch of third party apps to get the basic stuff going.

I use this calendar snooze, its brilliant, you get a prompt to snooze for any length of time, just like in old windows mobile and you can setup the calendar notification sound, etc...
if your phone is rooted you can change the notification sound, i've done this some week ago by replacing original audio file with a custom and longer sound. If you want to try search in developement or theme forum

Can't change notification sound!

I just recently decided to change my notification sound from the Growing Mushroom on Mario to the "Message" quote from Don't be a Menace. My phone won't let me change my notification sound to ANYTHING! Is there something I'm doing wrong? A setting I'm overlooking? Please help...

I was just playing with the notification sounds.
One way I got my sound files to show up in the notifications sounds list is by creating a folder named "notifications" in the root folder of my sdcard and putting the files in there.
Other than that option I don't know how to get the files onto the phone memory. The issue with that is if I remove the sdcard the notification sounds won't play anymore.
I also don't know how to move(delete)/add sound files to the phone's default notification sounds..if anyone could share that too
Im pretty sure if you use Ringdroid from the market, you can save your sound as a ringtone or notification and they will show up in the default list of sounds.
That's the thing! They're available to choose as my notification tone, but after I set the new tone and I get a text, it's the same one I had before. It doesn't change!!!
Ex: my notification tone is twinkle twinkle little star and I decide to change it to three blind mice. I go to my options and change the setting to three blind mice. After saving it, I get a text and twinkle twinkle little star plays. I've checked on my sd card and it's on there. Even if I chose to one of the phone's default notification tones it still won't play when I get a text!!!

If you are using the stock notifications try using Ringo Lite form the market.. just turn all other notifications off

Notification Volume adjustment

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the notification Volume separate from the ring tone? I like my notifications quiet but my ring tone to be loud. I'm unrooted and stock Rom. I am willing to root to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Increasing Ring

I just came from a Note 4 and didn't have this problem. I like to create ringtones that loop seamlessly but with my S7 when my ringtone starts it has low volume and increases to full volume after a second or two. For me this breaks the seamless loop of my ringtone and sounds awful.
There is an app on the google store "Disable Increasing Ring" but it has a persistent notification that remains on the lockscreen and just bugs the crap out of me having to stare at it every time.
Is there a setting or option I am missing that can disable this "feature"? I can't believe more people aren't complaining about this? It makes me miss calls sometimes because I can't get to my phone fast enough since I missed the first few seconds of the ringtone.
Thanks!
You can probably turn off the persistent notification under manage applications. That's what I did on my S5 when I used this app.
Now that S7 has root, does anyone know how to disable the increasing ring for ringtones?

Xtouchwiz (xposed) has an option to remove it.
Thanks! I'm a noob with xposed but I just installed out so I'll give it a try.
