Does anyone know if there is a Replicant ROM for the Oneplus 2?
Since it's based on Cyanogenmod, how hard would it be to make/compile it for the Oneplus Two?
Thank you.
If you had googled a bit you would have found out os is oxygen not cm

Hi,
The OnePlus One was evaluated as a potential candidate, and the last line says "This is a Qualcomm device, so at usual, bad for privacy, bad for freedom, so I'll call it a bad target.".
The OnePlus Two is also a Qualcomm, albeit different. Could well be the same.
Maybe it's worth suggesting to the Devs?

My parents got the phone out of AliExpress but they wanted a cheap one so he just bought a clone instead of the real thing. The clone is the one with the MTK6592 Octa-Core CPU. I have been looking around but I have not found anything usefull on the subject. So I am asking, Is it possible to install a custom ROM like CyanogenMod and the like? If it is, can someone show me a tutorial on how to do it?
Thanks
Everything is possible, you can make your own rom based on source of CM

Do not flash ANYTHING for the S5 or you`ll brick your phone. Leave this forum and Google for possible (but not likely) roms for your forum. There is nothing any1 can do for you here. Good luck
PS tell your parents not to waste money, you would be better off with a Moto G 4G to be honest.
As noted immediately above, don't try flashing anything intended for an authentic S5 as it won't work and will quite probably damage your clone. Look for a forum that specializes in clones e.g. China devices to see what your options are and what can be flashed on your phone.
.
No. It is a different device. It would probably be easier to get S5 software running on the M8 than that MediaTek device.
Hello, I just noticed someone ported Xperia Z ROM to a Nexus 4, because they have the same Soc (Snapdragon S4 Pro), so I thought it would be possible to port Xperia Z5 ROM to Oneplus Two as well (both have Snapdragon 810). Obviously the fingerprint sensor will not work, but it's not a big deal for most of us anymore I guess.
Here's the link for the N4 port http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-sony-xperia-10-7-0-222-firmware-t3244801
github (look commits history):
https://github.com/ipromeh/Sony_10.7.A.0.222_port
I am not good at porting, so I will just leave it here.
Did you even look at the development section?

This ROM is just a CM12.1 with Xperia apps, not an actual port of stock Xperia ROM.
and thank you for calling me a noob.
It has all the ported apps and goods. Porting a complete framework is so hard, that your better off just buying a z5

I have had the S7 Edge about a week now ... (I , for obvious reasons avoided the ROM threads, and sent out a few PM's) but I have a questions ...
Coming from a Nexus 6 that had some varied development (Stock, AOSP, Lineage and multiple variants like RR, etc) I'm a little baffled .... I see several ROMs here but I can't for the life of me figure out what the differences are (even in theory) ... they all seem to be about the same thing -- except for some require a paid for ROM control or similar.
Are there any of you more s7 Edge "long-timers" that can offer some insight -- even if it's just theory (like I noticed that Renovate does the SVN thing which is nice ----- but can be an issue for a flashaholic LOL)
Currently I'm using Superman -- but would love to use something like RR if I could get Magisk Hide to work and the camera didn't suck so bad

I use Resurrection remix as my daily driver, because it is on nougat, it is stock android and is completely bloat free. For a nexus user, I believe that this rom will make you feel right at home.

Gosh I would love to use Resurrection Remix. The only thing that I found is that I can't get magisk to work. When I enable magisk hide especially for the system UI the phone starts force closing

Camera will pretty much stay that way, but when we finally get a stable build, it's quality may improve a bit.
Also for magisk, the developer of the rom just has to fix this issue, but that is not a big surprise, considering that the rom is still in beta and about two months old only.

Not sure of where the best place to access that ROM but it looks almost identical to Superman ROM ?
What is different or good about it from your perspective?
Where do you access the ROM?
Www.echoerom.com. Jjst check it out yourself and you will understand

If there is one thing to know, Samsung devices and AOSP ROMs aren't a thing. Most ROMs (even for other devices I have used/seen such as the HTC 10) are simply modifications to the stock ROM with what the dev feels is needed. It's all about seeing what ROM has the modifications that satisfy you the most.
In my own case, I couldn't use Superman ROM with encryption and modified CSC file so I chose to use another modified stock ROM (Helios) that has the option to flash a custom CSC file and have an encrypted system. Same base, different priorities etc
Is anyone trying to port the miui rom for mi a1? I know kernel sources are not there but there is a kernel by which we can port the rom atleast... And ya pls dont give suggestions like to buy mi 5x and other things..please we dont want that.. and also dont tell here that miui sucks or its laggy or anything.. everyone has their own workspace....
I dont like miui, but i tried to port, bootloop animation, when i have free time i continue to boot it up
But idk maybe there exist many bugs
Just buy a god damn 5x
Guys its a huge req to everyone to not give suggestions like to buy mi 5x

You know you can buy MI 5X.
Everyone will be giving you advise to buy mi 5x coz both r identical twins in terms of hardware. So it may be very ridiculous to buy a mi A1 and install miui on it . When you have a thing in market then why experiment with other to make like it.

I guess it has been said an uncountable number of times: A1 and Mi 5x ARE NOT IDENTICAL in terms of hardware.

They are not identical but on the outside they are very similar and they have roughly the same price.
So, return your A1 and get a 5x, bruh

If band 20 is really important for someone and wants miui than he will buy phone like Redmi Note 4 which has similar specs and its cheaper than A1.
@prashantxpe Just out of curiousity: Are you going to open a new thread every two months about wether or not someone has ported MIUI for you? Two months ago you also mentioned that you can help porting. How far is your progress here? Do you have a github tree others can contribute to?
Nope...next one will probably be about volte or "where is Oreo, shame on you xiaomi".

Hi.
I'm still running stock, but wanted something that is more up to date securely, and also has the newer version of Android. But this is my primary device so need something that is also stable. Any recommendations? Not sure if there are any good roms right now worth to do, or if I should wait a while for something better.
Also, is there anything newer out there with this sort of hardware setup with the magnetic keyboard? It seem like the best tablet keyboard combo I've seen. Any news this hardware style will be revived? What I especially like about it is if I'm not using the keyboard it sticks to the back and doesn't separate from the tablet. Also slike that it doesn't have that extra stand that pops out on the back of the tablet like the Surface.

Sounds good. When do you estimate would be a good time to get in for something that will fully work? Or is that not likely at all? Sorry, am not very familiar with the custom ROM environment, but am basically looking for something that won't have problems and will have encryption.

What's the difference between these two? Anything missing or not working? Do they get security updates? Also, are any of them goig to be official? Is that important?

Difference? Mostly small things, pe tries to get as close as possible to the pixel phones.
Atm camera freezes at 20 minutes of Video recording, afaik everything else is working great.
Yes both get atm security updates but arent official, @followmsi and i havent enough time to make it official. For me it isnt important. @webgeek1234 and @Vartom are working on 4.9 kernel and nvidia foster sources for our pixel but no eta atm
Just try los-17.1 or pe-ten and have a look in their coresponding threads
Cheers

Hi. I never ended up installing any custom ROM in my Pixel C, but now am now thinking to do it. It’s been a while since this thread was started and I was wondering if the answer is still the same or if there are any new ROMs out there that are better. I’m looking for the most stable, secure, and fast ROM. The device is now fairly old so it’s gotten slow, but at the same time I want to make sure to have the latest security and good stability.

search for lineage os microg, it is very safe definitely no malware. it has support of tons devices that even official lineage dropped it because of older android version,
the rom purpose is to get better stability and battery friendly without actual Google Play services core meaning no Gapps pre installed but can be installed separately and used to sign in with microg core built in rom. it was my first time using rom without actual GMS and i find that most of stuff i do on tablet aren't necessary needed with GMS

there isnt thread in xda for pixel c to install this rom, on google search just write "lineage os microg" and click on first link. when you go to download section the codename for google pixel c is "Dragon"
you also need fastboot drivers on pc to unlock the bootloader, google devices are easy and simple to unlock bootloader. in pixel c case i had little bit trouble with drivers
