Hi,
I believe i bricked my brand new, just-out-of-the-box U8800 Pro. I will write the exact steps i did (in other words i will write what you SHOULD'T do!):
1. i entered the pink screen and copied the official recovery.img (5.0.2.6). then i tried to enter the recovery menu but it didn't work. it just showed a blue screen and that's it.
2. then i copied the unofficial recovery version (5.0.2.3) and it worked. i made a backup and flashed cm7 using the recovery. i did not reboot and wiped data. after that i rebooted the phone but it did not boot. it was just showing the huawei logo.
3. then i wiped everything again and rebooted. when i entered the pink screen mode there was no image folder nor any files. i could't access the recovery. i searched the forum for a solution and found links to 4 files (amss.mbn, boot.img, EMMCBOOT.MBN, recovery.img). i copied them to the phone but still couldn't enter the recovery.
4. on that same thread i found something about flashing U8800V100R001C00B138SP04CUSTESTC205D001(Esthonia Elisa). i copied the /dload/UPDATE.APP and UPDATE_CUST.APP files to my sd card. then flashed them by pressing VOL+ VOL- & POWER buttons at the same time. everything was looking nice... it said unpacking.. then installing.. and right after it said COMPLETE the phone restarted and since then it is showing just a black screen.
5. when i pull out the battery and insert it back the phone just vibrates but the screen doesn't even blink or something. it's like completely dead.
in sd card i found sd_update.log file:
"notesdld_file_ptr != -1) ! update.app have updated! start cust update ! SD download finished!"
if anyone has any thoughts, suggestions or info i would be very greatfull. thank you.
the rom B138 (Esthonia Elisa) is meant for U8800, not ur U8800Pro..
you finaly bricked your phone by flashing ROM from different model. now only service center can help you.

That goes for 5.0.2.6 recovery too (it's u8800 only). And I believe you did the same thing with CM7 for U8800, not Pro
My phone is not working too but I bricked it in the differrent way
hi, can someone help.
I've tried to install update 2.3.5 for u8800pro (second one with bug fixes) to my u8800pro, but i did something wrong. Now the phone didn't work.
1. I've copied step1 file to SDcard. that's it.
I,ve got to menu-stetings-sdcard-upgrade from sdcard.
upgrade started, then phone rebooted, but touchscreen is not reacting, also senso buttons. also it says that there is no sim card but it is in the phone.
I have no image of old system.
I think that what i did wrong that I copied only Step 1 file in Dload folder of SDcard (in upgrade there were also Step 2 and Step 3 files, but i didnt put them in SDcard Dload folder)
2. Then i've downloaded original Stock rom for u8800pro. Via computer i deleted from SDcard dload folder and then created new dload folder and copied stock rom (2 files).
Took off batery for 5 min., then pushed vol +, vol- and pwr buttones.
Got screen android system recovery (3e) with 4 options.
but i canot do anything from that point. I can't choose from theese options (buttons are not working), vol- or vol+, or pwr button not reacting.
maybe someone knows how to recover my phone to original stock or make something else to work phone?
Hi there, did you managed to recover your phone?
I have the same problem with my U8800PRO after attempt to upgrade to Gingerbread.

Hello everyone! This is my first post here, so i'm not completely sure if im posting this in the right place, if not then if possible, the moderators could move the topic to the correct location or inform me?
Anyway, yesterday i accidentally deleted my Honor 7's (PLK-01) OS, and i looked around google for at least 4 hours trying to figure out how to get my OS back, and all i found was other people asking for help, and the android pro's getting angry at them, so i decided to make this post to help out the people who don't know much about android phones and all this stuff
So basically, i'll be showing you how to get your OS back, and i'll try to be as detailed as possible, this should take up to around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your download speed.
What you will need:
Honor Multi Tool by inside!out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/honor-7-multi-tool-t3281176
Huawei Update Extractor by worstenbrood : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
PC
Stock ROM for your phone (i got mine from Needrom.com http://www.needrom.com/category/huawei/honor-7/)
Huawei Drivers (can be installed via Honor Multi Tool)
STEP 1
Download Honor Multi Tool, create a new folder on your Desktop called Honor Multi Tool and extract both the tool and the ''Files'' folder, to the new folder.
STEP 2
Download Huawei Update Extractor and extract it onto your Desktop, or whatever location you wish
STEP 3
Download your stock ROM
STEP 4
Once your stock ROM is downloaded, extract UPDATE.APP onto your Desktop or whatever location you wish
STEP 5
Open Huawei Update Extractor, at the top you shall see a drop down menu, from this menu select your device or Unknown, Honor 7 currently is not in this list so just select Unknown
STEP 6
Under update file, you'll want to click ''...'' and select your UPDATE.APP file that you extracted from the Stock ROM which you downloaded in step 2
STEP 7
Once you have selected your UPDATE.APP, you'll see a list of files, you'll want to select the following files > BOOT.img, CUST.img, RECOVERY.img & System.img. You can select multiple files by holding CTRL and clicking on the files i named.
STEP 8
Right click on one of the selected files and select ''Extract Selected'', browse to Honor Multi Tool, open the ''Files'' folder and extract them into ''Unbrick'' folder
STEP 9
Now open the Honor Multi Tool, you should have a CMD box pop up with text saying ''UPDATING'', wait for a while, if nothing happens then close the tool and open it again.
STEP 10
Once it's updated, you should see a few options with numbers/letters as their selection, you'll want to press U and then enter, for Unbrick.
STEP 11
Now you should see green text, telling you to extract the IMG files into the ''Unbrick'' folder, which we already did in step 7 & 8, You'll want to press 2 and then Enter,
STEP 12
Next you'll have to boot your Honor 7 into Fastboot mode, which can be done by Powering off your device, Plug your USB into your PC, and when you insert the USB into your phone, you'll want to hold the Volume Down button, until your phone goes into Fastboot mode (Should be a white screen with some text, and the green Droid in the middle)
STEP 13
Once your device is in Fastboot mode, press space in the Honor Multi Tool and it shall start flashing the files onto your device. This will take around 5-15 minutes.
STEP 14
Once it's done flashing, you'll have the option to reboot your device, reboot your device and it should now boot normally and you'll be greeted with the Emui set up, as if you just bought the phone.
AND YOU'RE DONE
if i missed any step, i'm very sorry, but once you've gotten past extracting the IMG files, and move onto Honor Multi Tool, you should be able to figure out everything yourself as it's really not that hard, there's instructions in the Tool.
If after these steps your phone still doesn't boot, don't give up and try downloading a different ROM, on my first try i didn't get my phone to boot, but then i downloaded a ROM from needrom.com, flashed that and it worked perfectly.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, and if you have any questions, feel free to post them below
The people here at XDA go out of their way to help you with these kind of problems.
Never had a problem of someone yelling at me (albeit virtually)
But some people get annoyed if you are the hundreds person to ask and point you to the answer, buried in a 100-page long thread, that you didn't find while searching.
And this is a well written guide and it's nicely monothematic. So this is a very valid post and if you ask me, it should be stickied.

I agree with you on the sticky part and really appreciate the effort here.
Just saying nobody yelled at me till now.
Well, TBH I never yelled on anyone, and has helped with providing this detailed guide, you can take some points from it and put up on OP.
And the method which I'm showing here is manual, so it's up to you to include it or not.
STEPS:
Download your phone's latest firmware and extract system.img, boot.img, recovery.img, cust.img from UPDATE.APP using Huawei Update Extractor tool.
Boot into bootloader mode by switching off the phone then pressing only the Vol DOWN button, and connecting it to PC simultaneously.
Flash recovery first, using this command.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flash all other extracted files similarly firing these commands.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
After doing this put that very UPDATE.APP from which you extracted the files in dload folder of your external SDCARD.
Switch off your phone, and press Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button simultaneously.
Your device will now get to the full stock firmware.
NOTE: If the manual flashing doesn't works or you get any errors, then first try only the force update method, i.e Putting the UPDATE.APP from which you extracted the files in dload folder of your external SDCARD and pressing Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button simultaneously after switching off your phone.

to be honest, once you have android and have few soft bricks/bootloops (aka deted rom) you'll learn how to fix them pretty fast every device is pretty much same, just different tools to flash stock.

Not 3 button method.
Shut down, press power and vol+ button and soon as you see Huawei logo, release power button but keep pressing vol+ button until you enter recovery. Do factory reset.

You can follow the instructions in this website
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/best-easiest-to-rollback-to-emui-4-0-t3507399
You first need to dload the update.app from the roll back package. For me the one from Russia work (you can try all three to see if one work). If any of the three rollback update.app work then you can use dload again the update.app that works before you install nougat. After that the phone will be locked. You need to unlock it again if you want to install twrp. You should be able to recover the phone as long as you can use dload and enter into fastboot mode (keep pressing the power button until it turn off then press the volume down at the same time connect it to the PC. If you can shut it down from the recovery menu, it will give you more time to do this).
This happened to me before and I used this method to recover the phone. For me the rollback from Russia works and I can dload back to L09C432B320.

The reason I'm making this thread is because I was trying to root my Honor 8 and things just didn't work out in TWRP. Rebooted my phone and I realized I had bricked it since it would not boot after 10 minutes. Solutions seem to be scattered throughout different threads so here's guide for when you're stuck in a boot loop or you bricked your Honor 8.
What you'll need:
1. The firmware currently you are on. @Coolyou posted a guide for a firmware finder. Here is the post.
2. SD Card
What to do:
Step 1.
Download the correct firmware. It will be a .zip file.
Step 2.
Create a folder called dload in the root of your SD card, not your internal storage. Copy the .zip file the folder and unzip it or unzip it else where and copy the content into the dload folder
Step 3.
Power off Honor 8 (if possible, sometimes it'll auto boot up when forced shutdown)
Step 4.
Make sure your device is not plugged into a computer as it will load into something else.
Hold Vol+ & Vol- & Power. It will being to install the firmware from the dload folder if done correctly. If it instantly fails that means you downloaded the incorrect firmware the device is already one.
You're done! However, if your device does not go past the startup logo within 3 minutes proceed to step 5.
Step 5 is probably necessary as everytime I've bricked my device, I've had to do the next step.
Step 5.
Power off. Hold power and Vol+. Once in Recovery mode (not eRecovery), clear cache and format your device. Once done, reboot.
Ta-da, you're device is now back to normal.
Unfortunately, I cant seem to get to the part where it detects my dload folder and installs from the UPDATE.APP file. My phone keeps auto restarting whenever I try to turn off, and since bootloader is locked, I cant flash any images. Every time I hold down Vol+, Vol-, and power button the phone just vibrates twice and goes to the blue honor boot logo. I have successfully managed to get to the Fastboot menu by holding down Vol- and power button, but this menu is useless as bootloader is locked. Is there anything I can do?
Let go off the power button after the first vibration. Also make sure your phone is not plugged to a pc. With pc connected it boots into eRecovery instead of recovery. Good luck!
Edit:Also the guide does not make it 100% specific but the dload folder on the sd card needs to have the update.app file right inside it. If the structure is sd\dload\folder\update.app it also won't work.

Add me to the list, two soft bricked Honor 8's. Once I made the jump to Nougat and installed the Nougat version of TWRP 3.0.1-1, I started having issues. So, I tried to downgrade to FRD-L04C567B150 from FRD-L04C567B320 and had big problems installing B150. Always getting unable to load /data Has to be something to do with the new data structure of Nougat I have a copy of the full stock rom of B150 and B162 and have wiped the phone. I am trying to dload full B150 from SDcard but will fail immediately and says Wrong Version. I can get to fastboot and ADB. I also tried custom ROMs but that wont work because they need the basic Nougat structure to work from. I don't have a clue how to proceed seeing that I can't even wipe the phone and install a Full stock ROM B150 or B162??
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

UPDATE : It freaking worked!!! After an entire weekend of hair pulling and going way deep into Nougat and MM trying to find the cause, it was a simple Full ROM B162 that I dloaded and three fingered from the SD card (of course it has to be the exact ROM for your phone such as FRD-L04C567B###). WOW, two phones are back. I'll stay at FRD-L04C567B162 and like it.
Lesson Learned: When you try to do an eRecovery and the Honor 8 starts downloading new firmware from the internet it creates a new folder on the sd card called something like HwOC. In that folder is stored the new firmware that erecover plans to use on the recovery. IF this HwOC folder is present and you try to do a Full ROM three finger install with the B150 or B162 firmware in the dload folder, the recovery will stop and say something like invalid version. To fix, remove the HwOC folder so that only dload is present, now do the three finger start and the firmware will install without error. Worked twice for me.
Hi, my device is still not booting up after installing the matching dload firmware on my device from the honor 8 website (FRD-L09).
Is there still anything I can do to maybe get this fixed?
I created a nandroid backup of all partitions that I were able to back up, but even rolling back all partitions did not make it boot again.
Sadly, I am not able to get the device into e.g. fastboot mode anymore because it is not booting anymore and therefore cant get an adb shell on it.
I can still enter recovery mode, but when trying to boot it just stays at the blue screen with the white "honor" text after the short boot animation with the 3d text
Hi,
my phone keeps entering eRecovery and my PC does not recognize it so please how can I access it to install files. I think I have installed a wrong boot.img and recovery.img version of firmware.

Hello,
I have bricked my M3 during update process to newest android Nougat. Right now I got stucked on Huawei eRecovery, which of course doesn't work ("getting package info failed"). I don't have unlocked bootloader nor root. Is there anyway to recovery it and flash an img of any rom? Version of the M3 is BTV-DL09
Have you tried the Huawei desktop app Hisuite. It may have some recovery tool built into it.

Not working, it says that this device is not supported
I had same problem. I solved the problem by downloading latest android 6 and emui 4 firmware from huawei support. Use sd card. Create a new folder and rename it to " dload ". Simply copy only the UPDATE.APP into that dload folder. Insert sd card and boot your tab pressing vol up/ vol down / power at the same time. Keep all pressed, till you see the update screen.
Takes about 5-10 min.
My m3 works now just fine, even though my update failed when 99% were done. But when tab was booting after that, everything was correct. :good:

Working right now! I went to Nougat after that and it works flawlessly thank you a lot, you saved my tab!
Great! You are very welcome! ??
Oh, btw. Which nougat version did you put in? And how you did it? Same way, using sdcard or how?

I have a problem with that tablet fingerprint sensor, it works when it wants and after a while the tablet stops working. Even the menu settings disappears, fingerprint ID is gone
when I restart the effect is zero only when I reset the factors it works but after a while the fingerprint sensor refuses to work again. Does

I have found nougat on some forum, just typed in "nougat geek update m3 tutorial" on Google , did it the way that was in the instruction. Works flawlessly

Anyone know where to find this software now? Trying to break a bootloop problem with my M3 and can't find a EMUI download.

So I tried this method and my tablet simply doesn't do anything after pressing all three buttons for a while. Any ideas on why this would be? Maybe I need a different UPDATE.APP file? Thanks!
