Hello everybody,
I'm new to Zuk Z1 and I'm pretty happy with my latest Cyanogen OS 12.1 official build, waiting for Cyanogen OS 13 release, sooner or later.
I love modding too, and I'd like to try Mr.Coldbird CM13 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/orig-development/unofficial-cm13-t3277885), because it looks better than official CM13 builds and also a lot more customizable than COS.
If anyone have tried them both, can you please post your impressions and also the main differences between the two firmwares?
Thanks in advice!
Both cm 13 rom 's look the same and look even the same than COS 12.1. cm13 is still beta and it is impossible to switch a single sim card off for the moment. You can do that in COS 12.1. As for the customization the roms are the same too. Only the rom 's built by @OrdenKrieger like temasek or RessurectionRom are more customized. If you really can't wait for the official launch you should try the official cm13 first as it does update your phone to be able to run other cm13 rom "s too without the need to flash a unknown custom made blobs zip.
Enjoy your Zuk Z1 with working Fingerprint on Cyanogen Software.

Thanks for your answer!
I mentioned Mr.Coldbird's CM13 because I read that it has working fingerprint and usb-otg, while official CM13 has not.
I'll take a look at the other ones you mentioned.
What I'd like for my Zuk is:
- Working fingerprint and unlock with soft touch (not press).
- Ambient Display (I came from a 2013 Moto X :sigh.
- "Ok Google" with screen off (see above :sigh.
- Something to ease one-hand usage (got very small hands).
- Better camera app than COS one.
- Better fingerprint integration (can only use it for phone unlock).

Hi guys,
I used to have CyanogenMod on my oneplus one. Now when I have OnePlus 2, I only find that there is CyanogenMod, but the laser autofocus and fingerprint sensor won't work... Actually I am thinking about CyanogenMod only because of ColorOS Camera app with plugins, because on my OP2 Oxygen 2.1.2 this app does not work, while on Cyanogen - it does. Maybe You know some alternatives to this...? Maybe there is some ColorOS based on android made for OnePlus 2 with laser focus and fingerprint sensor working on it..? Please let me know is there any other rom for OP2 that would work with laser/fingerprint sensors AND ColorOS Camera app.... I know I know, sounds like a mad man - Exchange good working OS to Cyanogen, where some features does not work only for an camera app...? Well... Yeah.
None up to now i guess, since Oneplus team havent release the full source code for their Oxygen ROM...
ColorOS is not that great anyway, tried it back in my OPO time, still prefer SD Cam or CM cam all over again...
You always can edit your picture later with VSCO & Snapseed, so i prefer "raw" - untouched image for my cam...
this might not applied for most of ladies user though who prefer "Shot n straightly upload"
Why the hell they hide source code? Personally, I do not like not open source codes, because it means that manufacturer can do whatever he likes with Your phone, track it, spy it, collect any kind of data and so... Well I don't know, maybe I am wrong about this, I do not have enough knowledge about this, so this is just a guessing. I am still thinking to join CyanogenMod, but the worst thing is that OnePlus are no longer friends with CyanogeMon, so, I gues there would be no (OTA, or else) updates on the software...?
Until OnePplus releases source code for Laser AutoFocus and Fingerprint sensor(Fingerprint sensor will work fine after Marshmallow upgrade on AOSP or CM or whatever ROM). We can hope for working Fingerprint but not the Laser Auto Focus.
Edit : will work after OnePlus releases marshmallow.

Wrong! It will work on custom roms after OnePlus releases his own Marshmallow version. If before that someone build a working Marshmallow rom, it won't work.
Hyrdrogen OS
Hydrogen and Oxygen is basically the same. The key thing for me is an OS with working fingerprint and laser focus + ColorOS Camera, is this possible on OnePlus 2? If Yes, with which ROM? If not, then on which ROM (except CM) ColorOS Camera would work? Thanks!

good ROM only thing that i didnt like. 3rd party apps dont get notifications. you have to check yourself. i like the outlook but quickly went back to Oxygen. The home button is VERY responsive on Hydrogen vs Oxygen and battery life seemed greater to me

Ya. Exactly, I didn't know how to put it in words. :good:
Can You please share a links of SD Cam or CM cam that You use please?
is it not possible for dev to drive the code from OOS stock zip file?
We need to wait to Malva, but i think CyanoGen was near about laser focus
I would love for those things to work on custom ROMs but you can use this if you want more than 1 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/development/dualboot-dualboot-patcher-oneplus-t3221499
since the source code for k3 note has released, i see that suddenly more new roms are coming out including pacman (cm12.1 based) and that doesnt seem to have any issues with previous cm12.1 base roms.
not sure if im allowed to post links but you can google pacman k3 note
any one tried this yet?
thanks,
PM me the link
can you please PM me the link ?

Yes I had tried it long ago...i would say its OK but now we have better options for k3 note...if you like cm12.1 then Google cm12.1 stable 5 ..its what I m currently using and everything works (led, xposed, double tap to wake Also) and awesome battery life (trust me,better then marshmallow ) or alternatively u can also use blisspop but battery is not that great and also I had faced storage automatically filling up in blisspop and pacman due to sensor logs .(fix is available on needrom )
Hope it helps

So i've been wanting cm 13 for xperia z2 ever since they released the stock marhsmallow update for xperia z2
To be honest im not happy with the stock MM rom. It's not as smooth as AOSP rom, but its actually like downgrading when you're moving from CM12.1 to stock marshmallow
So this is what i did. I realized there was an AOSP MM rom for xperia z2 and it's pretty stable now.
I installed it, but it was equal to a stock rom. No root and no features of cyanogenmod.
So i searched for a way to root the rom. You can find the file to root it in the links below. and then i installed xposed framework so get cyanogenmod features to the AOSP rom. and in the end i had a rom that works just like CM13 for xperia z2
Installation Method:
1. Follow the instructions to install AOSP MM for xperia z2. Link --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/aosp-6-0-marshmallow-sony-xperia-z2-t3235951
2. The rom has a twrp recovery so you can flash the rooting zip file from this link ---> https://download.chainfire.eu/743/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip
3. Install xposed framework - follow the instructions on this thread. Link ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
4. Install gravity box module to get latest features of cyanogenmod on your AOSP rom
Thats it guys. Now you have a rooted AOSP MM rom on your xperia z2 with cyanogenmod features.
If anyone needs step by step installation procedure please comment below and i will put it up.
You're welcome guys

Sorry I'm just a junior member so yea. I don't know what RIL means. But yea camera works fine. It's just that a bit too slow on taking pics.
But the AOSP team said they'll be fixing it soon on the days to come.

Ril means radio interface layer, it's basically for calling and stuff.
The Android Open Source Project provides a Radio Interface Layer (RIL) between Android telephony services (android.telephony) and the radio hardware. It consists of a stack of two components: a RIL Daemon and a Vendor RIL.

Oh yes. The telephony thing was recently updated. It works well. There's no problem in calling. The only problems that I noticed was NFC and the camera lags a bit. But everything else works fine
Sent from my Xperia Z2 (AOSP) using XDA-Developers mobile app
Camera and nfc is still unstable/broken in MM-based ROMs afaik. I've read that the "dark pictures" issue on the camera has been solved, but I've heard nothing about the other camera problems on MM: overheating, extreme lag, thermal throttling and heavy battery drain while camera is active.
And nothing new about the non-working NFC.

Good work. One question about terminology. Doesn't AOSP basically mean it's google's official version so how can Marsh Mallow stock not be AOSP?
1. AOSP, by @freexperia -
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=17562
Tested 2/27 AOSP build. Seems smooth and stable overall. Only browser is some kind of experimental one that doesn't work too well, or at least you need to spend more time getting used to it than I was willing to. Camera works, but is as good as any other N camera at this point, (bad).
2. AOSP and Lineage, (CM), 14, micro-g patched, by @MSe1969 - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=155737 - haven't tried yet. I mistakenly linked it to fxp until I just now noticed it. Will try soon...
3. AICP - https://forum.xda-developers.com/so...lopment/rom-aicp-11-0-mm-6-0-1-amami-t3428288
Excellent rom, regular updates, and lots of customization. Some people have posted about dropped calls in recent builds, but haven't heard of other issues. Magisk integrated. If someone can figure out how to get a good camera, you could hardly ask for more.
4. AOSP by @CLINTZ9 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/orig-development/aosp-t3317511
I haven't been able to get it to boot, (error in twrp). OP says to ignore error and flash, but it won't flash anything for me. I think others have, though, so maybe just something I'm missing. Let me know.
5. LOS by micha-btz - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=153937
Just stumbled across it, and my BL is currently re-locked, so plan on trying soon...
Update - tried today and works well, everything seemed to function. Bad camera as usual, and I couldn't get back into recovery for some reason. I had to flash a different kernel first...
6. CM14/LOS builds by @derf elot https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41716
7. AOSP builds by SonyAOSP team, (@davidteri91) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=187966
8. LOS 14 by @Hazou - https://forum.xda-developers.com/so...opment/rom-unofficial-lineageos-14-1-t3636822
Haven't tried yet. Let us know...
9. LOS 14 by munjeni - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/rom-t3657384 Probably the best yet. Excellent camera. Some have had random reboots on latest build, but maybe fixed with this - http://munjeni.myiphost.com/system.rar
10. Sudamod by @maz-1 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/rom-sudamod-3-1-t3666092
Testing now, LOS-based with some custom tweaks. Fast and smooth, fully working. Op says camera is good, even though 3.1 kernel, pictures look OK so far, going to test more in the light. Very nice ROM.
11. M-ROM port by @dmgZero - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/m-rom-v2-4-0-t3711381
Stock Nougat style and apps on custom (Carbon) rom. Very nice. Original dev seems to have abandoned xda, but rom has been popular on several devices up to v2.3.1 (I use it on Z3c [https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/rom-los-xperia-ui-z3c-t3654894]). 2.4 was never posted on xda, AFAIK, but posted on a Chinese site called 0z4l, or something, but not possible to download without registration, and I couldn't get successful registration. dmgZero has modded it, apparently. I haven't tried it, since I'm using Z3c at the moment...
BTW - seems to be some degree of controversy around the security of latest version. Check device threads and judge for yourself.
12. Flyme OS by @dmgZero - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/m-rom-z1cflyme6-8-1-22r-t3742581 I'm mainly on Xc now, so check thread for reports...

New AICP build 11/4
hi good day. I'm pretty new to flashing
I managed to install some custom rom and gapps with TWRP.
so I'm now a bit more confident in installing new roms
there's so many custom roms, I don't know which to choose. I need something not bloated, fast, and fully working camera. any help is greatly appreciated.
(or maybe I just should root the stock rom and uninstall bloated apps ?)

For the short answer, he's probably right - Jaguar Is excellent. However, there are now very good roms for this phone in kk, lp, mm, and now n, so there's lots to try. If stability and camera are your main priorities, go with stock-based, or Jaguar. Personally, I don't feel debloating is necessary, if you use an app-management app, like AFwall, or 3C toolbox.
thanks guys !! i shall try jaguar !

Hi there,
I made a CM14.1 build for amami for you to try, based on the sources of sonyxperiadev, SonyCM and SonyAosp. So a big thank you is in order to everyone involved in these projects. I only modified the sonyxperiadev amami sources to work with this build, set SELinux to enforced and removed the Gello browser from the build (there are more updated derivatives on the Play Store anyway).
I have run it for a little bit, and noticed the following bugs so far:
- deepsleep not working when wifi is on (I think)
- camera sometimes force closes, sometimes works (known memory leak bug I think, cam is work in progress)
- lots of CM stuff is not there yet, including themes (remember, CM14.1 is a work in progress)
- ?
To install it, you most likely need real recovery with TWRP3. It includes the new Sony init, so reboot to recovery from ROM works. I'm currently using it with latest OpenGapps and SuperSU, which both seem to work fine as well.
The Z1C is currently my secondary phone, but once it becomes more stable and feature-rich and once Xposed is available for 7.1 (fingers crossed), I will probably also build for the Z3C. Unless we get to see some official CM love again of course.

Hello,
I will receive my RN7 in few days to replace my old RN3P.
I don't want to continue to use google apps. I want to use MicroG but i need a custom rom with signature spoofing enabled.
What is the best rom? I don't need a rom with many tweeks. I like pure AOSP and Lineage OS but they haven't signature spoofing.
Thanks.
If you or someone else still seeks this like me back in March I compared the then candidates: crDroid 6.3, HavocOS 3.1, AospExtended 7 all based on Android 10. I did go with crDroid 6.3 and still have it (no updates because OTA / dirty flash is not possible and it seems not all updates worked flawlessly for others). crDroid 6.3 works well and I like the custom things. Now it seems a LineageOS 17.1 with MicroG is available, but I remain cautious about updating/changing because GCam EIS video performance is important for me and some say new ROMs use camera blobs which may cause EIS video problems. Latest AOSP base might even brake video recording (green screen).
Well, I've tested crDroid, AICP und LOS4MircoG for exactly this goal (= no google, no gapps etc)
The recommended crDroid 6.3 build (by @Chrismo) is a very good one, I had this in use until 3 weeks ago ..
Now I'm on this AICP build (https://dwnld.aicp-rom.com/device/lavender/WEEKLY/aicp_lavender_q-15.0-WEEKLY-20200701.zip) witch includes more actual security fixes and is a bit smoother in daily use (imho).
All the later builds (LineageOS4MicroG, crDroid, AICP) seem to have cam issues ..
