[ROM] Android Open Kang Project - a500 Teaser [Fixed Wi-Fi!]

Not going to make this too formal. Just putting a teaser out there for the a500 users who want a taste of AOKP. Things will and are broken, namely camera and audio. This is how far I've gotten in 7 days and I had zero source to work with in the beginning. Hope you guys find it pretty good so far!
Full wipe and flash ROM.

Ok, install no problems. Looks like you have the same screen artifacts on boot as the current acer boot.image
1. Reboots after going to sleep. My guess kernel
2. I get 3g (501) signal and setings menus. This means it gets a signal, knows it's there, but can't lock on to an apn. Will work with this. Have to check your xml files.
Reboot when sleep is very annoying. Means I have to keep the screen active.
What kernel (device did you get this from?

Am surprised, none of the 501 users want to get involved. Ok, so be it.

Just remember what the OP said. No Wifi yet.
And, as I stated, if you let it go to sleep, it will reboot. So I would like, to check GPS, which means, you have to get GPS status.apk, and install it manually
But I like the signal bar comes up. But we 501 people, have to work on this. Everybody is fixed on the 500 leak.

Ok people, I am ex military, family tradition.
I would suggest those interested, we take an issue,
1. GPS
2. Wifi
3. 3g
Forget the kernel issues for now, as it's beyond me at the time.
I'll take 3g. More experience in it. If others want to do it also, well, communicate.
Wifi, should be moderate. Mostly apks and xml.s and hopefully not kernel related (I don't think it is)
GPS will be kernel related, but in this case, because I get signal bars, I think the kernel is ok. So, apk's and xml.
This is just a starting point. And of couse, if we take the same point, it doubles the output.

ROM Control > general UI > uncheck CRT animations to resolve the reboot upon sleep issue

not development related but more of an encouragement, I run aopk on my nexus, its the best. So if it becomes fully functional for my tab.... words cannot describe my joy. All the devs apart of any a500 development keep it up guys!! Your work is amazing!!! Thank you so much!

Let's see. I spent 14 straight hours working on this build. I posted it at 5:42 AM EST then went to work. I've had no sleep for two days now and because I don't answer for a few hours I'm "unresponsive"? Uh, OK then.

Q/REQ Domination dark/light theme port

Hello to all, and please excuse me if ive posted in the wrong thread. I am fairly new to the forum and have been a long time reader and supporter and finally want to get involved in this great community and...
have a[Q], is there any dev out there working on a port for vertumus's domination dark/light theme, for the sprint galaxy s4 as of right now? If not no worries, would you consider takeing on this project lol ?
I did some homework on this and seen a thread indicateing (link at bottom of post) another dev was infact working on a possible port. I had high hopes for this but dont know if it's still being worked on or if it was dropped all together. no status updates or post have been made for sometime. i wanted to write in the thread and get a status update but don't have permission yet since i am a newbie (at time of post this was true, and is no longer the case )
this theme is absoultely amazeing and I would love for someone with the skills and knowledge to please consider takeing this on. it would be greatly appreciated and i would be more than happy to make a donation to support your time and efforts put into it (with the devs permission of course).

Devoureddreams said he would port the theme. That was on July 8th, almost 2 months ago. I'm not sure what the status is but it's not an easy job. Maybe he'll do it some day, maybe not.
Anyways, have you tried any of the Xthemes? I'm currently using SimpleX_Blue v.4.

thanks for takeing some time to reply back to me I appreciate it, glad to see someone else is showing interest in this possible port, your a man of good taste lol anyways... yes! I have tryed out the Xtheme engine and I think it has nice theme capabilities and is a great idea, But i didn't give it to much of a chance. I played around with it for a bit and gave up on it a bit too quick with out really giving it a chance. Mainly for the reason that once I seen vertumus's domination theme. it was so right on the nose and fitted my likeing to the T. like I've seen themes that were nice and said to myself wow that's nice, that's cool but man I wouldn't change a thing about the domination theme it was perfect... in my eyes at least, very appealing. there's probly a good chance if it were ported I would NEVER flash another theme onto my s4 .
aigain I do appreciate the reply and suggestion. I might just give the Xtheme engine another go, also just to note i did infact mention this to vertumus some time ago. he did say he has intentions to bring this theme to the sprint galaxy s4 variant in the future, but didnt give a projected date or time frame sadly but it is nice to know its in his thoughts so im keeping my fingers crossed hopeing ill see it in the forums one of these days lol.

Really!!! Dude those words alone just made my day, i know its not like its a "go" and the theme is being made but its that much closer in the right direction... i aint going anywhere ^_^. Its awesome to know this thread is'nt completely dead and that there's still a chance of a possible port awesome!!!

If you go and kinda read through the thread for the theme sprint is mentioned a couple times. One guy asked if it would work and Vertumus told him to try it. No profit of course. But a discussion about the theme being on other devices arose. So hopefully Vertumus took note of that. There was also that one guy that was porting it but then he disappeared

Yeah its been sometime since ive read/posted in that thread. I messaged vertumus and the dev: devourourdreams (i think his name was) who was working on a port, I messaged them both once regarding this a while back, vertumus got back to me saying he has intensions of bringing the theme to the sprint and verizon s4 but did'nt say when...it didnt sound like it was going to be anytime soon. He did welcome me to flash it as is and see if it worked, tried it, didnt work lol
As for the dev who was porting he's still online and active in the thread. i just got ignored in his thread and via p.m so i left it alone. I didnt want to troll anyone or discourage anyone from takeing on this project.
In the meatime im running sacs rom which is a nice piece of work. i tip my hat to the dev, he went balls out to bring the forum such a nice rom,frequently puts out updates and is nice enough to take request to put into the next ver... He has my support. (highly reccomend it to anyone)
its my daily till the G.E rom's (with sammy cam) kinks get ironed out, even then idk if im gunna switch. i personally like what sac's has done with t.w. Id only consider switching if vertums's theme was brought over then...maybe. In addition to the rom 3minit + Xposed framwork modules keep me happy look wise in the meantime (till port) , KToonz kernel along with operation killjoy, KTweaker shop custom settings (thanks to other amazeing devs) tops it off, giveing great performance & battery life. #Profit

Fingerprint on klte (LP, MM)...

Just got one of these last week. I have had 0 luck searching everywhere for a custom ROM, etc.
Basically, just want to echo what the poster above said. Can someone make this happen??

Me too, it works fine but lake of apps or face, hope some of the XDA developers can create some ROMs.

Love the watch but disappointed I can't find anything about changing or adding faces or adding apk's or roms or anything for the watch. This is very disappointing as the watch is awesome, allowing to be a true phone or bt paired and has a micro sd card to add music etc. would love to add or change the watch faces but can't find anything about it... usually get allot of great responses and quick actions here. But, don't see any heavy's weighing in so that is disappointing as well.
Come on coders, crackers, help us out here.... no luck finding any Chinese help... that part too is disappointing. You would think they would understand that supporting these cheap products could actually really help them rule the world and bring down the apple's etc. They have some great cheap products, they just need to stand them up with folks who can answer these questions and provide English answers and programs etc.... rom's, etc... Apple and Samsung etc. would not be able to compete if they did....
If anyone has any info on how to root, or add apk's and or change and add watch faces etc... let me know.... I can't even figure out how to connect it to play store etc...

You will never see a custom ROM for this watch. Here's why;
Doesn't run Android
Has a single core 533mhz CPU that's something like three years old
128MB space for apps/call logs/text logs/contacts
64MB ROM partition
Runs a JRE OS like what you would find on flip phones
So you can't root it, build a custom recovery for it, make custom ROMS, install any Android apps. What you see is what you get and nothing more.

Damn...I would kill to have NoLED or something similar on it

Your phone it is part of a big family of "clones", it is a mtk6260A so theoretically any firmware coming from it has to work on your phone, each of them delivering a totally different theme, watch faces set and even slightly different functions - GT08, GV08, Iradish Y6, ZGPAX S28, Teclast T11 and these are just few are coming right now in my mind, the list in fact is really huge... installing a new firmware takes no more than bit less than a minute so... go for it
Note: don't forget to do a full recovery backup of your own firmware before to flash any new things on your phone!!! (I mean it, take it in a very serious way)

Hi can any one help me to get the ORIGINAL firmware for this smartwatch? DZ09 with CPU MTK6260A any help would be great!
P.S. there's rom/firmwares for the MTK6260 without the "A" they can be loaded on the mtk6260A BUT my touchscreen is not working and the watch goes to an blank screen as standby mode.

Well no I was stupid enough (didn't backup first nor readback) spend all day and night searching for firmware, non working.:crying: would really be great if you have have the right firmware man.

Still nothing :crying: the firmware loads fine to the watch it boots up fine, but the touchscreen isn't working (maybe wrong firmware drivers?) you got more firmwares for me to try out?

most probably the touchscreen is working but in mirror, try to press in opposite side f the buttons
Yet problem remains.... please tell me which firmwares you have tried until now
by the way, now in standby the display gets blanck?

Man, if you'd read this thread link will find that you can change watch faces and (i'm still in working to the app) soon possible to change themes and icons

I know, and i already did, but i use my camera a lot and the sotck rom is the best for camera perfomance

Did you trying the open camera. It's gives me better dark scenario performance than then stocks giveth me. Open camera.

I did, and in some scenarios it really performs ebtter, but hdr is slow and now raw support. I really use RAW format
