Hi.
For serious work with the kernel you need a UART port. If I open up my NR3001, will I find any? Has anyone done this?

I would like to raise the question about the ability of defy to support the above function.
Is it possible for defy to support them?
If not, why they can't be supported?
Due to hardware problem or software problem?
Thx to all of you first
cuz of a locked bootloader if im not wrong.. we cant change kernel
Adding things to kernel is easy: with kernel-modules.
Changing is possible but very hard. (some modules like mmcfix are doing that)
I just saw, that USB-OTG is enabled in our standard kernel-config. EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960633&page=11
And there is a driver for the HDMI-Chip "TDA19989". Does defy have this chip?
I don't know if anyone tried USB or MHL-adapters (i read something about usb-adapters in the past but don't remember where and can't find it again).
I want use a arduino ADK board with a ZTE Blade.
I'm trying to install the DemoKit app that google supply on a ZTE blade, but can't, always get this error 'INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY'.
I have CyanogenMod 7.1.0 installed.
Someone knows how to fix this? Or if this rom support Accessory Mode?
Thanks

Pretty sure you need USB host mode for that arduino kit, there is a kernel out that supports it but you would still need to external power it yourself. It riský and probably buggy. Also not sure if the usb host mode is sufficient to get the ADK working.
Figured this would be the best place to ask, discus or what ever else takes the fancy but I was floating the internet the other day looking up about USB OTG for my T230NU and found this...
A bit of googling didnt seem to pull up the CPU that the Brazilian "NT" varient uses... but what I am thinking is if it uses the same Marvell SoC as the T230 / T230NU would that be something that could be ported?
I Did do a quick forum search before typing this and nothing came up and thought it of potential interest
Anybody looking into this? OTG would be nice. Hate not being able to mount usb storage properly as well.

OTG support is not available on marvell variants. I don't know if the same holds tru for the sm-t237p which is a qualcomm/msm device
like the tab 4 10.1 and the tab 4 8.0
The same lack of OTG support occurs in the tab 3 line for the 7.0 models, again, marvell.
While the code is present in the kernel source, the actual required hardware components are not present on the board.
So the answer is no.

Edit- i do have a question about mounting the tab as usb-storage in recovery, either philz or twrp, does that work ?
Hey everyone!
I'm running the Nexus Player with the 3.10.20-g43ab991 kernel and Android 7.1.1. I've bought a Micro USB to LAN adapter and it has the RD9700 chipset which is sadly not supported by default. However, I've found this post and they made a driver - unfortunately, for a very old kernel version.
Has someone this driver for newer kernels or could compile it for new kernels (unfortunately, I'm a total noob at this)?
Thanks!
I have no experience with that particular product but I can tell you that the TP-Link UE330 works with an OTG adapter cable.
I have a vivax fly 2 and my phone doesn't support otg. It has otg API but I think problem is with otg kernel module. I need otg because I want to connect usb camera. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance
