[FIX] N910F note 4 lag/freeze/reboot problems. - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I just wanted to share my findings regarding all note 4 users out there complaining of their devices lagging after they rooted, flashed any of the roms out there. it took me 6 months, continously blaming developers for their unusable roms to figure this out but now I am happily installing every rom out there with absolutely no freezing issues whatsoever.
install a build.prop editor from the play store and edit the following line.
" ro.securestorage.support " and change it to " flase "
you'll need to re-enter all wifi passwords after that but that's all.
Hope I helped somebody out there.

Can you may explain the reason why it is better?
...and you loose the private mode, right?

you don't have lags anymore and your phone gets real snappy, at once I decided that the note 4 is a piece of trash and wanted to change it for the note 5 also I never liked the built in battery and no expandability.
I still have the private mode for sure and it's working as it should.
for the info, my device is a N910F and it's a German varint( used in germany as well ) so maybe yours is another variant if you're not suffering lags after rooting. anyways best of luck,

[Q] rooting and device encryption sm-n900

Greetings,
Yesterday I decided to root my Note 3 (sm-n900) mainly to remove samsung's bloatware and install afwall.
Just after I rooted my phone with Odin + "CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900" and went for the first reboot, I noticed that my phone wouldn't boot anymore. After some hair pulling, I decided to wipe the device and after that it booted fine.
Finally I managed to remove %[email protected]! Flipboard and My magazine (a lot of crashes with sms and regular email, but worth removing!). Total happiness and a faster phone!
When I tried to enable encryption on the device, the phone just crashed again (with the same droid logo that appeared on the boot before the wipe). I came here and found some other users talking about rooting + encryption with sm-n900 saying that it's not working. (some reported that kingo method would work, but I really don't feel comfortable with king).
Now I'm downloading the stock rom, and planning to flash the note3 back to original since I have the recipe for T virus on my phone and couldn't allow it to fall on wrong hands
Is this a bug on cf-auto-root or encryption doesn't work with rooting at all? If it's a bug, any ideas of when a fix should be around?
Thanks!
Hi eduardogsilva,
I don't know your device, but I encountered a problem activating encryption on a rooted SM-P900. I'm not sure, but I think it's a general problem with Samsung KitKat devices. I described, how I got it solved for my device here. If you still have issues, please have a look at my thread and let me know, if it works for you...
Cheers!

Hello radicalisto, following the guide that bruzzy wrote, I managed to activate the encryption on a rooted note3.
So I guess that it should be fine now... Or is there any other issues besides activating encryption?
thanks

It'll work, just not 100% - don't be surprised if one day it freaks out on you and doesn't let you unlock it. Happens sometimes, Although, it may be that it'll stay fine for you (luck of the draw) - with root being an exploit, the system is designed to look out for changes and freak out if it spots them.

Well, the important information that I have on my mobile is in sync, the only bad thing would be reinstalling and reconfiguring everything again, so not a big problem in loosing my phone data.
I would love to use a custom rom and completely say goodbye to touchwiz and to the huge bloatware that comes with my phone, but unfortunately, CM for note3 exynos is not available yet.
thanks

[Q] I can't install apps outside of the Play Store

Hello everyone,
I finally rooted my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 and I'm really enjoying the benefits of a rooted phone.
So far so good. I have just one Problem: I seem to not be able to install .apk files I downloaded from the internet even tough I allowed the installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store in the settings menu. You can see it here.
I didn't change a thing after rooting and I had no problems before the root. I also rebooted a couple of times already.
To root my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 I used the Auto-Root method from Chainfire (awesome guy! :good: ) that can be found here. My Adroid version ist 4.4.2.
I am really thankful for all your help. I appreciate it!
Sincerely Nero
Didn't do anything but it seems to be working again.

SOLVED for some HUAWEI Y6 types : How to root this device ?

SOLVED !
Hi,
Which ROOT options do i have for this device? SCL-L01 (other versions : see UPDATE)
For some unknown reason this solution does not seem to work everytime on this types.
But better give it a try
You do not need to unlock your phone.
Just install :
http://www.appsandroidapk.com/tools/kingroot/
http://androidmtk.com/download-kingroot-application
UPDATE : known versions of Kingroot working : succeeded feedback by other members but not always succesfull.
SCL-L01 4.5.2 Build : SCL-L01C432B130, SCL-L01C150B140
SCL-L02 4.6.5
SCL-L03 4.6.5 Build : SCL-L03C25B130
SCL-U31 4.8.0 Build : SCL-U31C185B140 (but with unlocked bootloader)
(another user : with unlocked bootloader, sim card out, wifi ON, Kingroot 4.8.0 = success)
I suggest you try all versions when above list is not working for you. You'll never know ...
Feel free to post your rooted phone's BUILD number please to help others.
Removed bloatware and apps with any app like link2sd etc...Installed AdFree to remove all ads
Thnx !
Solved !
you do not to unlock your phone.
Just install :

It's permanent. No worries. Let the app do its work.
Best thing is that you do not need to unlock bootloader etc. like some users propose to do. So not necessary to ask unlock code @Huawei. (warranty stays)
If i am not mistaken you can unroot too. (warranty not sure after root)

Hi,
i remember by running Kingroot the first time it said it didn't go by the usual "quick" root.
But after that message i could choose to do it 'manually' by selecting just a button to continue.
After that it went running for a couple of minutes, even a couple of time it rebooted and after that it said "rooted succesfully"
Checked it with rootchecker--OK !
Other apps like solid explorer, link2sd ect. asked for permissions to grant, so i am rooted by that way.
? Do you have the 2gb version with 2 sims ?

Yes, the sreens are taken after root.
Mine is a 1gb/1sim. Perhaps this will cause the problem. I do not now. But i suppose the 2gb/2sims might normally work too.
Perhaps someone with a Y6 2gb/2sims might give it a try and give feedback to this situation.
PS : Have you succeeded sofar?
Rooting happened like video. Just to give you an example how it went.
First it said "root is unavailable" and after that you just tap "START ROOT".

This well known Android German forum has a quite big thread about it:
android-hilfe.de/thema/huawei-y6-rooten-des-geraetes.724309
I don't read German but with a bit of help from google translate I can see that nobody there has succeeded to get root access without unlocking the botloader.
Seems like the OP here had luck with his phone. Perhaps huawei forgot to lock his bootloader?

I DID check the status of my phone,my friend. Did you?
Use minimal ADB and fastboot - go in ADB and check with " ADB reboot bootloader"
You will see your status my friend...it WAS locked. So don't be that suspicious...it worked with mine
Perhaps sent a mail @KingRoot like i did..perhaps they will look into it like they answered me

Cheers m8, I wasn't suspicious it was just a little joke, but I'm glad to hear that you've checked the lock status. :good:
It looks like the 2gb/dual-sim type (to my knowledge that's the only type available in Europe) can not yet be rooted without unlocking the bootloader. Would be nice if it could though...

Lol, dag buurman! Hi there neighbour I'm from Holland
My knowledge is indeed lacking, I stand corrected! I only saw the 2gb/dual sim version in the Dutch and German sites and presumed it was Huawei's Europe import policy.
It's available here for 136 euros from belsimpel.nl but I don't have it yet. I wanted to get it for a friend and dual sim is a must for her. I only want to root it, replace the hosts files to get rid of ads and unroot it again, so she gets no problems with ota updates and warranty and such.
Are you generally happy with this phone? Are the audio and call quality satisfactory?
Thanks a lot!

Hi neighbour ! Indeed a small word
No problem ! There are 3 versions of it.
But i thought you've bought the phone already and tried Kingroot...
I use this phone as an interim because my ZP999 is in first aid :crying: Screen total loss...
But by unrooting this phone and deleting all unnecessary stuff and linking all the apps to my 2nd partition of SD it became a rather quick and very decent phone indeed! From the 1GB RAM i've always 500MB free.
There is no lack in opening apps. Battery is more than satisfactory (3 days normal use, 2 days no problem when making a bunch of phone calls like i do etc. ). Battery-charge cycle less than 1 hour.
Design is good. Slim body
Phone call : good but they put a rather hard blocking noice reduction in it, so when you have somebody on the phone and he/she does not say anything, sound is totally gone - that's a bit different with all the other phones i've got : caller voice and background sounds are hearable all the time. But you get used to it with this phone).
Touchscreen is very good even looking at a small angle is more than good. Backlight clarity ok.
GPS excellent! Wifi and carrier connect : excellent ! 4G top !
Sound when playing music : very good ( better then my ZP999)
So in general : worth the 130 euro's :cyclops:

[HELP] custom binary(RECOVERY) Blocked due to remaining installment balance

I currently have the SM-N935F/DX and I get the *on in the title, when flashing TWRP.
I made some research and I cant seem to find any answers on how to solve that.
Any help would be appreciated
Update
Setup Secure Folder and Samsung pass. Update all galaxy apps and you MIGHT be able to flash TWRP
UPDATE 1
I tried to boot on " Android Recovery " first thing I got is " Installing system update " then next is " no command " after a couple of seconds I got into android recovery.
I think the " installing system update no command " caused the " custom binary(RECOVERY) Blocked due to remaining installment balance "
Any devs out there? Or anyone who can help me figure this out?
Edit
I am not FRP locked
OEM is unlocked
same issue same varient, tried doing everything, but no luck.
please help us some genius
I found out that the ones having success on TWRP are non N935F owners, they are using " gracelte " while ours is " gracerlte " Our only chance of having TWRP are some devs who are willing to make one for us. I honeslty would like to learn how to make one but its faaaar beyond me. And my internet is sh*te, so I cant download them programs needed to make one

hello,,
check THIS for rmm by-pass

Does it worth to root the Note FE?

I thinks that we are going to face software instability if we did so. Right ?
I dont think that we need any other custom rom .
So i am thinking of just rooting without installing any custom rom . If i will , it will be only For the z sake of using TWRP.
What is bothering me the silence of all Note FE forum .. no news .. nothing at all . What do you think !!
Limitation number of sold phone is the reason. Even with stock phone, we dont have software support like S7e. Anyway, its ur choice. And would like to use Samsung services in their mobile device so i keep it non root.

That popular than the Note FE. And at the time of Note 3, there is no huge difference between root and non root about Samsung services. So u can compare these device. I also used S4 and my opinion is try to use Samsung device that official release in your country and not root it if u not have another High end Samsung Device ?

It's up to u. With customization, there will have substratum for that (at least it enough for most of people). With backup, u have cloud and SmartSwitch. And uptake, i think it really not necessary as Samsung Firmware is really good enough for most of situations. Basically, i dont see anything better if rooted Note FE.

But Google Pay wont have large number of accept place. Samsung Pay have large number of accepted place. Google Pay wont be affected by root. Samsung Pay, root mean lost forever.
So i think it will be very hard to decied root flagship Samsung device.
Unless you are a software developer there is no reason to actually root a modern android device. As the latest version of Android is pretty efficent.
Root is not really important for android user today. I just wonder why there are so few custom roms for note FE lol..
Root is for customization. Nowdays theres option to customize even if ur device is not rooted.
This is the only android device which I have not rooted as I find not that helpful as most of the feature and customization which we use to get through the root are already available even in the low spec phone
