How update if i have rooted system - Honor 7 General

I've the b140 rooted (android 5) with unlocked Bootloader and TWRP.
What is the right way to update to b320 (android 6) without bootloop and similar?

unroot first, replace TWRP with stock recovery

How unroot? Only flashing stock recocery? Where i can download stock recocery and how flash?

Use this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/honor-7-multi-tool-t3281176 to install stock recovery (I used 320)
To unroot go to SU app and use unroot option in settings, then reboot.

Well I did upgrade from b180 to b320

So i must flash b140 to b180 and finally b180 to b320 correct?

I have deleted update file, but there inside, when you unzip it, you can find .txt file where is exactly path described. From earlier FW version, and from 180. Please see.

I've doing the update, now i'm on b320!
Can i root with multi tool?

Yes you can. Use twrp sminki ang 2.62. On first reboot will fail, just do reboot manually.

I must flash TWRP before root?
So the right way is:
1) With multitool flash TWRP recovery
2) With multitool apply root.
It's correct?

Exactly. In multitool will tell you steps.

Perfect. Device Rooted!

Question about Nexus 7

Hi
I will get my N7 in Calender week 37, this is the week starting with the 10. September.
Now I have some questions.
1. I want to root it, like my arc S. I also know how to root. Unlock the BL, flash CWM using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, then flash SuperSU Package via CWM. Is this ok? Somewhere i read, i have to delete any file in /system. Is this right?
2. If my BL is unlocked and a custon recovery is flashed, will i still be able to update OTA?
3. If my Bootloader is unlocked, a lock will be shown under the Kernel logo. If I relock the Bootloader using fastboot oem relock, will the lock still be there?
Thank you!

You should run CWM at least once after flashing it; it should automatically correct the ROM-wants-to-overwrite-recovery problem so that you don't have to delete some /system file. So after flashing, you would do
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
(I'm assuming from your sample instructions that you've renamed the recovery to "recovery.img". If not, replace it with whatever the file name is.)
Note: I'm basing this suggestion on paulobrien's earlier advice (which was for an outdated version of CWM). I'm not actually an expert at this stuff.

I think so (don't trust me on this) but I'm also pretty sure it'll remove root. I recommend just going fullon with custom ROM so you don't have to worry about this.

Before stating some answers, please don't continually bump your thread, it was a total of 5 hours... A couple of days, maybe... We have lives...
Now here is my answers to your questions:
1. This is OK, you dont need to touch anything in /system
2. Yes, and no. They will appear, but to keep it as is, may be a bit more involved.
3. The lock will be gone, it will look like nothing was different.
For points 1 and 2, I referred to http://www.nexustablets.net/forum/n...-7-windows-keep-root-through-ota-updates.html. It has a pretty good walkthrough on how to do things.

Be sure you're Filemanager has write permission!!!
In most cases you have to enable it by yourself.
Try a other manager, maybe this one "ES Datei Explorer"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
Enable write permission!
Try again to install the apps, if not flash it, because you resettet the Phone already, now you can also do new flashing original Firmware too.
First boot into "recovery mode", make a "Factory reset" and after "wipe cache"
Download your original Firmware from Sammobile.com
Use PC Odin to flash new Firmware.
After successful flashing boot into recovery mode again, make "Factory reset" and after "wipe cache"
This should help

If yes and not working, delete the odex File and reboot.
Did you updated to KitKat 4.4.2 or you are on 4.3?

Ensure that you've reset permission to rw-r-r for those apks inside system/app and reboot your phone
it´s not a good idea to root your phone....because you have less experience. thats the thing, that Samsung gives you no Root access
Anyhow....you should flash your device with Samsung original Firmware and ODIN from your PC.
It´s really not a big deal to do this. And after that, you´ll have a Note 3 like new

The down side is that you won't be able to get any OTA updates. The process would be to revert to 1.5, then let all the updates apply and then repeat the root process.

Found an app that was supposed to add supersu instead of KingoRoot. Link is http://missingtricks.net/replace-kingroot-kinguser-with-supersu-superuser-android-guide/. Tried the option to use super su me pro.
App said it worked but went into an extended boot loop. Had to revert, again, to 1.5 and now coming back to current. Going to stay unrooted for the foreseeable future.
Plain android is SO much better.

I presume you already have enabled developer options under settings. You should also have ADB installed. Here is my version:
Download SuperSu from the market. Option - Pay the author - worth it to keep good software coming.
Connect your tablet via USB.
Have the recovery (cwm or cyanogen) located in your ADB directory.
Open a command prompt (Windows) For Linux, ask someone else.
Move to your ADB directory and type ADB Devices. Hit Enter.
If you are OK with ADB you should get a serial number as verification.
Then enter ADB reboot bootloader. Hit enter.
Then enter fastboot boot (recovery name). Hit enter.
This will take a few minutes. If all is OK you should have a screen on your tablet with an option to install upgrade etc.
Select Supersu and hit enter.
If you reboot now, you will be rooted, but with the stock recovery. If you are OK with that reboot, otherwise you will need to flash the recovery (cwm or cyanogen) with a command fastboot flash recovery (recovery name).
This worked for me. Good luck.

[Question] root/twrp on A2017GV1.2.0B02

Hi!
I'm looking for a way to either root/twrp v1.2.0b02 (coming from stock files), or a way to apply the ota on a twrp'd/rooted v1.2.0b01.
I have tried this guide without luck starting from the point where the tool tries to flash twrp. when the phone tried to reboot into bootloader it just rebooted to the system.
With this guide i can't apply B02 as i get a mismatch error (forgot what the actual message was called).
any ideas?
thanks in advance!
edit: further information: i am currently on 7.1.1 b01 with unlocked-BL/twrp/root thanks to this guide, BUUUT i can not update from that to b02.
when i flash stock recovery and try to update via ota i get a "package mismatch" error during the update installation process while in the (stock-) recovery.
1. Which version are you running?
2. are you already unlocked and
rooted?
If yes, just flash stock recovery with axon7tool and update your system in the usual way. If done, flash back TWRP and supersu. Done.

Hello,
I'm on A2017GV1.2.0B02, and I'd like to root it.
I have installed adb and axon7toolkit, but it seems there's no stock recovery anymore since 7.x firmware. So when I issue adb edl reboot, the phone is just rebooting the OS. :/
Which steps must I follow for rooting my stock A2017GV1.2.0B02 ?
Thanks.

the command to edl is: adb reboot edl.
To boot into recovery it's just power + vol+ button.
But since nougat you cannot boot into bootloader anymore. This would be necessary to unlock the bootloader. Therefore you would have to follow the steps I already mentioned in this thread.

B01 is what? Android 7.0 or 7.1.1? If you are already on 7.1.1 you don't have to flash anything. You will receive the update to B02 OTA. Otherwise you have to follow the official steps to get where you want to be. Described a lot on xda.

You are triyng to update your sistem with twrp and the stock update.
you need to go back to stock recovery, aply update from system, wait for process and then, reboot edl, and reflash recovery.
then from recovery root

My stuff was for reinstalling TWRP on an unlocked phone after Nougat deleted it.
You should try axon7toolkit and see if that does the stuff. Another way around would be to downgrade your phone to B10 (Marshmallow) via MiFavor's update by sd thingy, (i'm not 100% sure if it lets you get to mm from nougat, but it's definitely worth a shot) then trying the BL unlock thread (NOT mine!)

You'll always get that mismatch regarding what you do or try. You'll need a custom made twrp flashable zip. Tron1 and I have tried to make one but no success. We will try to make a full flashable zip based on the full image.
Even if you flash your stock recovery back and do the OTA, you'll always get a mismatch regardless what others might say.

I saw it before. It's recommended only for non rooted and locked devices.

I used that method and I was on B560 rooted and unlocked (and with a modified boot.img). Be sure to re-install the stock recovery (not TWRP).
no way ...

Flash original unrooted B560 via TWRP and wait for OTA.
Hmm I got OTA for L29C432B581 today but I'm on unlocked bootloader, rooted and on TWRP so I haven't tried to accept the update. As I understand it, it won't work to update given that I don't have stock recovery.

You need stock boot.img and system or the OTA will fail. Just download B560 full and flash it in TWRP, that will unroot, restore stock system, restore stock boot.img, restore stock recovery. Then you can install OTA without any issues (you do not have to lock your bootloader).

B560 it's not just only the usual "update.zip" file, there's also the "update_full_hw_eu.zip" file.
If I reinstal B560 again just to get the B581 OTA, have I to reinstal both files or only "update.zip"??
Thx in advance!!

Flash both just to be sure (it will NOT wipe your data or configuration).

I suppose that also the "Dload" methot should be work in case my phone misses the OTA, right?
Did flashing both files work for you zappomax?
To answer my own question, i did a fresh install of 560 through twrp following this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/how-to-install-nxt-l29c432b560-official-t3540042 , but without installing rootfiles. After phone set up update to 581 was offered in system update. Tried to install (796 Mb update) but failed to pass verification.
After reboot in 'old' 560 connected phone to hisuite which offered me the full (2.2Gb) update to 581. This one installed without problems.
Rooted with Magisk afterwards.
My solution is to flash stock boot.img and update using hisuite..i was in 560 before..

Is it possible to just download the b180 update.zip and ...full_hw...zip, and flash? Instead of flashing the old b560 zips?
From 581 to 180 is a downgrade, so i guess you need to flash a downgrade package before you can flash 180 software.
boot loop after flashing boot.img, recovery.img, system.img, cust.img through fastboot. I also wipe data and cache after flashing
