The installation file to download to and Root Recovery:
Recovery-TWRP-3.0 (download for reasons not unzip)http://forum.xda-developers.com/sam.../twrp-3-0-0-0-galaxy-a52016-sm-a510f-t3313781
SuperSU-Root (download leave no decompression)https://download.chainfire.eu/921/SuperSU
Odin 3.10.7 -
Download software decompression will see Father Odin download Stock Rom for Galaxy A5 (SM-A510F / FD) in case errors are reset
https://samsungvn.com/threads/root-...-phien-ban-2016-sm-a510f-fd-exynos7580.14988/
NOTE:
This is a test build and requires a tester who knows how to flash with Odin and recover if required.
It may boot it may not, it sometimes takes a few tries to get the configuration right as I don't own this device.
If it doesn't boot take close note of what happens and describe in detail.
FLASHING CUSTOM STUFF VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY. THIS WILL TRIP THE KNOX FLAG.
Install:
Flash with Odin 3.10.7 using the AP slot.
Uncheck Auto-reboot.
Reboot to recovery immediately after flashing using POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN, as soon as the screen goes blank change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons.
TWRP should now boot.

Have you tried flashing cf-auto-root packages with Odin?
Here's the list:
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Here the XDA page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
I flash this CF-Auto-Root-a53g-a53gxx-sma500h.tar with odin but not successfully.
What's the error?
flash with odin but not passed.
I have downloading fail.
I checked your device, and this rooting is only available for 4.4.4 You might try to downgrade or install a custom ROM.
Maybe have a look at this? Flashing 4.4.4 root is only the first step, then you have to re-install the right kernel. It's strange because it should be working, you sure you downloaded the right version? What's the last message you get before error in Odin?

Kingroot worked on A3, tough only on KitKat. It should work on A5 too.
SM-A500H or SM-A500F Root and fix
I'm follow this method but not working after restart. But don't worry, I found a fix.
1. Follow the steps on this site http://dottech.org/184361/how-to-root-galaxy-a5-a500h-on-android-5-0-2-xxu1bof6-guide/
2. Download 5.0.2 official firmware and open it with winrar or 7zip. Select only boot.img and recovery.img and extract to anywhere. Select 2 files you just extracted and make a .tar file using 7zip.
3. Flash tar file you just created using odin. To force the phone shutdown press (volume up + volume down + home button + power button) the sametime untill the screen off and immediately press (volume down + home button + power button) to switch to download mode or odin mode.
4. When flash finish return to recovery mode, press (volume up + home button + power button) than wipe cache partition.
5. Reboot system and boom!!! all working!!!:laugh::laugh:

Finally I reinstall stock firmware from SAM Mobile, but same results. somehow trying to install TWRP is refused when entering recovery mode.
If I disable in Odin reboot option and carefully enter to recovery avoiding the system to restore the old recovery, It will no enter recovery mode until I let the phone show the telco logo and then I get original recovery.
As something new I noticed USB debugginf ius disable to turn it ON/OFF. This is a mobile phone in a company plan with the local telco. Maybe it is restricted to root or to install another firmware.
I give up... I appreciate comments on this...
when you finish the flash of the TWRP file for J110M you must be hold the vol up and home until the phone reboot twice, the second reboot enter to the TWRP mode
I have the j110m and the way to get TWRP to work is to try both versions. 3.0.0.0 got stuck on the boot and never got me into recovery it always went to the provider logo. I tried the other one (2.XX) with ODIN, had auto reboot ticked off, and just like the guy above said wait till the second boot. Voila
---------- Post added at 04:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 PM ----------
by the way, is there any chance in seeing Cyanogenmod on this? Im looking and looking but I cant find anything. Just one post where some guy wants to port CM 12 but no one has responded to his post yet.

help
Sir help me how to root n install twrp recovery mod on my galaxy j110f ace
My friend overseas recently got the new Galaxy A5 (SM-A5100) from China and asked me for some help rooting her device and installing the google play store.
Unfortunately I've never used any Android devices before so this is a whole "first timer" situation and would gladly like some help in understanding the best and least risky process for rooting this device.
This is more or less what I know at this point after hours of searching online:
1) CF-Auto-Root is probably the easiest tool for someone with no experience rooting.
2) Unfortunately a CF-Auto-Root for this model has not been made yet.
3) The boot and recover images from the firmware are required to make the CF-Auto-Root.
I think I found the version of the firmware from samsung-firmware.org and have extracted the image files. Hopefully this source is credible. I'll upload the files later using mega if that's fine?
[NOTE: so apparently I can't post links yet since this is my first post, welp. Will update later or try to PM it instead if that works.]
Here's the information that I have from my friend's device:
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)
Model#: SM-A5100
Android Version: 5.1.1
Baseband version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
Kernel version: 3.10.49-6418683 (Mon Dec 14 18:59:12 KST 2015)
Build#: LMY47X.A5100ZCU1AOL5
And here's the information about the firmware I have according to the download page mentioned earlier:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy A5
Model: SM-A5100
PDA Version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
CSC Version: A5100CHC1AOL5
PHONE Version: A5100ZCU1AOL5
Region: CHC
Country: China (Open China)
Build Date: 14.12.2015
Changelist: 6418683
OS: Lollipop
OS Version: 5.1.1
Is there any other information I need to get to request the CF-Auto-Root and how/where might I find it? Or am I completely going about this the wrong way?
Thanks in advance!
You can try the kingroot app. http://www.kingroot.net/wap
You can indeed try kingroot, just tried it without luck..
Any luck? I just got my A5 (2016) and I desperately need to root!

CF Root does not support SM-A5100 as of the moment same with King Root. However if your sole purpose of rooting the device is to install Google services on it , then there is no need.
A5 2016 has many version and varies depending on the country it is being released . The SM-A5100 phone kit is the A5 2016 version release for Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR.
Since your friend purchased the phone from Mainland China, the Phone will be configured without Google in it as Google Services are not allowed at that Country. The good thing is that you don't need to root the Phone in order to install Google Services . All you need to do is download a Stock Samsung Firmware for SM-A5100 that is configured for HKG.
Take note, you need to flash the stock Firmware configured for HKG and not for Mainland China. I can see from your post that you have downloaded the Firmware for Mainland China?
These are the things you need :
1. Stock Firmware for SM-A5100 configured for HKG SAR
2. Samsung USB Drivers
3. ODIN Flash Tool
I assume that you already know how to flash a Samsung devise using the ODIN Flash tool , if not here are the basis steps
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin
Extract Odin ZIP file
Run Odin
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect the phone and wait Odin detects it.
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA , insure re-partition option is NOT ticked
Click the start button and wait for the process to finish .
This should work as I have gone thru the same process .
All the best

I'm not responsible for you doing something wrong...
Make sure you download the correct stuff...
Warranty WILL void during flashing (samsung KNOX will get triggered :/ )
Needed:
1. Download odin on pc
2. Get the latest twrp recovery (or cwm) for that specific device
3. Download the universal root package down below (this package can be used for any device and will install supersu itself...)
Process:
1. Copy the supersu update zip package to your phone's storage
2. Enter download/odin mode
3. Startup odin and connect your phone to your pc (I recommend using the original usb cable you got with the device ?)
4. You should see a text in the odin log saying "added"
5. Add the twrp package in the AP slot in odin
6. Go to options in odin and deselect auto reboot
7. Hit start
8. It should start and on your phone you should see downloading
9. When done immediately reboot your phone into recovery (or your phone will delete twrp and replace it with the original again... thanks samsung ?)
10. Click install and search for the supersu package (INSTALL IT) (DON'T LET TWRP ROOT YOUR DEVICE)
11. After installing reboot system and you are done

Kingroot is always bad for your device.
1) Flash your firmware in the AP slot of Odin.(Using one from sammobile.com is recommended and flashing firmware does not overwrite your data.)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G360H/
2) Flash this TWRP here in Odin (AP slot):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65386115
3) Flash the SuperSU installable zip(not the app) to root from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68475511
(By the way, before rooting by any method, make sure "OEM Unlocking" is switched on in Developer Options in Settings or you will likely trip Factory Reset Protection in your device and get locked out, though this is also fixable.)
4) Never select "Reboot to Recovery" from anywhere on your Core Prime device. It will cause a recovery loop.
Odin does not detect my mobile. I have download usb drivers also.
I recently acquired a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime today, and I have been spending several hours trying to root it. I've tried several ways to root it :
Rooting with one click apps ( kingoroot and kingroot) failed.
Rooting with Odin with TWRP, the phone isn't recognized despite correctly installing Samsung Kies and drivers. Including CF auto root.
Rooting with updating from external storage, verify failed.
*Forget this. When I plugged in my phone into my PC, it doesn't show the files, but it can charge. I believed my phone doesn't "exactly" support MTP. Well, it doesn't show up any option in the setting and notification to change from charging to MTP, giving me my assumption. Yes, I've tried the inserting the code thing into the dial and nothing happened. I cannot unlock bootloader, because I cannot flash the darn thing because PC cannot recognize phone, but charge it instead.
Specification:
Name/Model #: Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530H)
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband Ver : GS30HXXU2BPH1
*Willing to give more information if asked.
Other detail : I've rooted LG phones before ( no one click apps ) and rooting should be easy. . .
Hopefully, you guys can help. Thanks~
*EDIT My phone status is now Custom with Current Binary: Custom, and System Status: Custom. It is still not rooted according to root checker. TWRP is not opening too. Knox is tripped ( 0x1 ). Still have stock recovery.
Problem solved : remove battery immediately after TWRP finished flashing and going to reboot.
