[Q] gt-n7100 update to latest omni rom problem

Hi,
when i arrived to the step when i need to install the rom (zip file) , in recovery got error which says:
this package is for "t03g,n7100,gt-n7100" devices this is t0lte.
i know for sure that my device is n7100.
can you help me please?
10x.
phliz recovery
could it be because i installed phliz recovery that is for lte mode and i have n7100?
the page that i downloaded from said it works for n7100,n7102,n7105, but in the file name was lte. "t0lte/philz_touch_6.07.9-t0lte.tar.md5", where it says LTE version.
Flashing a recovery explicitly for the n7100 should solve your problem. Assuming that you want use PhilZ, try this one: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/n7100/philz_touch_6.15.4-n7100.zip
Hi,
Thanks for the reply,
I've tried to flash via zip the appropriate version before you replied (philz_touch_6.07.9 n7100 zip)
And again got a message that the package is for n7100 and mydevice
is t0lte.
Will your link be different?
i took it to the store for checking, and they said that they tried to install stock rom but its not booting... strange.
is this can happen because i installed a wrong recovery and did format /system ?

If you formatted /system, Android won't boot until you flash a new ROM.

I know, but I can't install a new Rom that's the problem,
It says, when I tried install n7100 4.4.2 omni Rom, that this is
A package for n7100 and my device is t0lte, I think
It says that because of the wrong recovery. Again i try to
Install new recovery via zip from the recovery itself and it says
The same error.
I gave my device to the store to check and they tried install
The stock Rom with no success via Odin..
Any help appriciated
Thanks.
Then you have to "force flash" the recovery via PC using Odin, heimdall or flashboot.

Hi,
Can you tell me exactly how to "force flash" via odin?
Step by step?
Btw, if I have omni Rom, zip file, can I use Odin?
Thanks.
In recovery, as you already know, I did format/system.
What the /system do exactly?
Is it because that I flashed recovery for the t0lte version
I get the error? Or because that from the wrong recovery
I did format/system?
I just want to know why I get this error when flashing rom: "this package is for t03g,n7100,gt -n7100 devices this device is t0lte " when
my device is n7100.
Thanks.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash an appropriate recovery for your device.
You somehow managed to install a t0lte recovery. You need an N7100 recovery

S4 GT-9505 Boot loop: just before boot animation starts it restarts

Hi guys,
i have read a lot of articles and tried a lot of combinations... problem still there.
My problem is on GT-I9505 when I start the phone, only after the first start after new firmware update, I could see for a second animated samsung logo but seems that is collorized (some red, lila colors on it ) and then black screen, vibration and restart. The blue light will blink all the time.
I'm able to get into download mode and recovery mode (if is called like that)
What all i tried - some of them:
-tried to install with Odin new/old firmware. Everytime it is successfully but the problem still there
-tried to wipe to the factory
-tried with odin also ROM to put (not sure if is possible this if phone is not rooted and it is not, because i don't know how to do that if i can't boot it)
Any help?
Tnx
You can't put a custom rom on it through Odin. You will need a custom recovery for that, which can be flashed with Odin.
Then you can flash custom roms. Google s4 twrp or i9505 twrp, you should get to the twrp site from where you can download the recovery and you can also find instructions.

In progress. Just to mention that phone is not rooted. I think that shouldn't be a problem ? And also debug mode is not enabled (because i can't turn on my phone)
Ah... I tried also another ROM. Still same.
Checking for MD5 file... (it took about 1,2 min)
E: Aborting zip install
MD5 does not match
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/.....
Updating partition details...
...done

MD5 errors are usually caused by the file not being downloaded correctly.
I know, but if i don't put I md5sum file nexto to the zip ROM, then immediately check error appears. I'm using check md5 app and i have checked the file also on SD card...
This S4 is from Austria T-Mobile...seems so hard to install custom ROM. I'm not able also from CWR to install from zip.
I tried also different ROM-s. Is not possible that all 5 zip ROM are corrupted in download. When i check with MD5 checker says OK.
Only what I could install from SD was Supers user.zip (that should be root phone)
If somebody has some suggestion I would appreciate otherwise i will give up.

Samsung SM-N9005 (without rom) with TWRP v2.8.3.0 can't install any zip by error

Hello to everyone,
The other day my brother bring me his samsung galaxy note 3 sm-N9005 and told me that doesn't work, just only can enter in TWRP (v2.8.3.0) or in download mode. I tried to install a rom and update version of TWRP, but always i have the same message:
checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
error flashing zip '/sdcard/TWRP/twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.2-img-zip'
Updating partition details...
.. done
When i try to install a ROM from zip file, i have the same problem
I try to generate a md5 file from zip TWRP in computer and then copy to sd card and install from TWRP by sdcard or internal memory of phone, but always i have the same problem.
I dunno what else do. Please can anyone help me?
thanks

Post does not make much sense.
I suggest flash stock rom via Odin first .
There are some major flaws:
1) There is no Android 4.2-designed TWRP for the phone. You must be using wrong file.
2) Why are you trying to install old version?
3) File name is completely wrongly formatted.
For the solution, I assume the phone has or will be having Android 4.4 KitKat or newer.
You have 2 options here:
1) Download twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.zip and install it via current TWRP recovery (can not be done in stock recovery).
2) Download twrp-3.0.2-0-hlte.img.tar and install it via ODIN.
This is the site to find the correct files - https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/
To previous poster - Flashing stock firmware does not help achieve his desired result. Just a waste of time.
continue without installing
Hi Someguyfromhell,
Thanks for reply i have some doubts and questions about you reply, but first of all i want to tell you that i dunno anything about android so when you tell me some words i don't understand i'm iOS user.
In point 1) when you say "there is no Android 4.2 TWRP what do you refer? Because in any moment in my first post i don't say anything about 4.2.
In point 2) when you refer to install old version do you refer about TWRP? Well i tried this one, because new ones i can't install by odin. When i do it, and all process finished, phone don't enter in teamwin option, always reboot.
3) Can you explain to me about why file name is wrongly formatted?
Well i tried to install TWRP 3.0.2 by odin, but as i told you, phone don't enter in TWRP application, just appear in main screen where there is samsung galaxy note 3 SM-N9005:
Recovery booting...
Recovery is not seandroind enforcing
set warranty Bit: recovery
And don't move from this screen...
When you say install TWRP v2.8.7.0 via current TWRP recovery, how is this process? i try to look for in internet, but i didn't find anything. Can you explain to me?
About ROM, well as i told in first post now i don't have anyone, because always appear the error about MD5 and i can't install nothing can you recomend me a ROM and where to download it and how to install of course!
thanks a lot!

I have exactly the same problem. I've watched dozens of videos and even when it shows no md5 file found it still installs. Mine does not I've tried to flash different roms at least 10 times without success. My phone was rooted when I bought it could there be a problem with the routing. Cheers

I don't know where you got such file from though. Does not seem to be an actual zip file if it fails flashing. Or the recovery script is messed up.
TWRP download sites do not have such option at all.

Try 2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4, that should be working just fine. 3.0 is quite new, might not be fully finished yet.

My bad, that feature is only on 2.8.4.0 and newer recoveries. You will have to flash the recovery with ODIN.
What happens if you try to flash a ROM? (which ROM and send logs)
Also, you do not have to create MD5 file. It is there to check for the archive integrity, isn't the reason for flash failing. Has to be another error.
Hi again,
Well i did process about TWRP V2.8.7.0 as you told me by odin and worked well, so now i have this version of TWRP
Thanks.
About ROMs, I downloaded few ones like:
1) N9005XXUGBOA5_N9005XEOGBOA4_XEO.zip
2) SOKP-L-5.1.1-LMY48B-R4.0-OFFICIAL-20150613-hlte
3) XEC-N9005XXUGBOK6-20160122145457.zip
4) N9005XXUGBNL8 5.0.(7z) ---> This one is 7z file where inside have 4 files: AP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar; BL_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar; CP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar and CS_OXA_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
And tried to install, by this process:
1.- Copy 1) , 2) and 3) to ROMs to sdcard in PC, 4) ROM i think that is only for Odin, but i dunno how to do it
2.- Ejecute TWRP in phone, I copy 1) , 2) and 3) ROMs from sdcard_external to internal memory of phone in folder sdcard.
3.- In TWRP i go to Install option and choose the ROMs.
Well so I Tried 3 first and only the 2) tell me succesfull, but then not boot roms, appear a message on the top right that says: "kernel is not seandroid enforcing set warranty Bit: kernel".
with 1) and 3), says me about error, that no MD5:
checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
error flashing zip '/sdcard/N9005XXUGBOA5_N9005XEOGBOA4_XEO.zip'
Updating partition details...
.. done
How i can obtein logs?
Where i can download a good ROM?
thanks again

First and third are zip files, that are not recovery-flashable - inside the archive are the original firmware files that can be flashed via Odin. Only (custom) ROMs, that have recovery-script inside zip file, can be flashed in TWRP.

finally got bootloader unlocked, but no roms?

So pumped to see the vzw loaders got unlocked.
I was trying out CM13 but i'm having 3g/lte issues, but if i go back to stock i'm fine.
Looking for other things to try, but most of what i'm interested in i see in unified dev and i'm not seeing vzw versions of.. well.. pretty much anything.
I flashed a klte just as a test, and while it worked i wasnt able to get cdma working so i couldn't make calls., so i guess i definitely need a specific vzw / g900v variant .
What are you guys running?
Download pd1 firmware for kltevzw from Sammobile. Com
rename it in Windows file manager to remove md5
For Example cm13kltevzw. Tar. Md5
Change to cm13kltevzw. Tar
Then extract files using 7 zip file manager and
Then once it completes click add to archive modem and choose tar then flash in Odin
Then also in 7 zip file manager also click add to archive tar the boot.img. File then flash this in odin also
If it still doesn't work do a full backup in twrp mount all partitions first then check all check boxes under backup and backup to your external SD card
Unmount modem partition before you wipe Then do a full wipe wipe in twrp. Wipe everything but USB storage and external SD card then flash cm13kltevzw rom to your Phone in twrp then flash in twrp gapps for mm then reboot
Try this nightly 9/6/16 cm13kltevzw nightly works well for me I'm on it right now I have no issues with calling or cell service
Resurrection remix mm is stable and
so is cyanide Android version 5.0 mm
and so also pb1 lolipop rooted rom by Jrkruse
Also ni2 kitkat rooted rom by beanstalk
There are other roms but I haven't found other stable roms yet

[noob] bootloader and CM13

I'd like to test out CM13 on my rooted i337m, currently running CM 12 with bootloader I337MVLUFNE1. Before I start I'd like to get an idea of the steps involved; any help you can offer is appreciated!
My understanding is that to use CM 13 I will need to do the following:
1. Install the UCUAMDB or UCUAMDL bootloader from the i337
2. Flash the version of recovery that corresponds to the cm13 version I wish to use
3. Backup, wipe, flash CM13 ROM and GApps
I have no idea how to do steps 1 and 2. I've never messed with the bootloader and I'm not even sure if it's safe to use the i337 one on i337m. I also can't seem to get twrp manager to flash a .img file.
CM13 thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rom-cyanogenmod13-releases-nightlies-t3459578
Do you have an i337 or i337m? You can confirm the model number in download mode.
If it is the i337m, just flash twrp, cm13, and gaps.
Yes I've got the i337m, running I337MVLUFNE1 bootloader. So you're saying that I don't need to change bootloaders - all I need to do is flash the cm13 recovery that goes with my cm13 rom. That makes things easier!
I already have TWRP 3.0.2-0 installed. I am trying to use TWRP manager to flash the cm13 recovery from the 2016/8/20 snapshot ( cm-13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J3-jflteatt-recovery.img), but it doesn't show up in the directory. I think this might be because it's a .img file instead of a .zip. Should I just zip it up?
If you have twrp installed as a custom recovery, just copy the rom, which should be in a .zip format, to the phone's internal memory or as card, boot into twrp, perform a full wipe, and flash the rom and your choice of gapps if the rom doesn't include google apps.

The problem with that is I get "error 7" from TWRP when flashing the rom as described above. The instructions linked in my original post say that the workaround for this is to first flash the specific recovery snapshot that corresponds to the rom snapshot. I put that recovery on my SD card but TWRP manager couldn't see it (its a .img file), so I zipped it and then tried to flash, but this failed.
So it seems the next step for me is to figure out how to flash that recovery snapshot before I go on worrying about the rom.
I appreciate your help and patience!
The status 7 error is usually caused by one of two items: the TWRP version is outdated or the ROM is not for the phone you are trying to flash.
Since you have an i337m, use Odin and flash TWRP for the gt-i9505, then flash CM.

Before I try to flash it with Odin, is it okay to instead use TWRP manager to install the latest jflteatt version of TWRP (since it's a jflteatt version of CM I want)? I bricked a device with Odin once so if you think this would work instead that's what I'll do!
Which version of TWRP did you install? Was it for the jfltecan? If it was, it may probably error out when flashing the att version of CM.
Yes I have JFLTECAN TWRP at the moment. On my old phone it was drilled into me to only use stuff for my version of that phone, which I guess isn't the case with the S4. So it's safe to put the jflteatt twrp on my phone?
Did you try to flash the jflteatt version to your phone using the can version of TWRP? If it won't flash, try the 9505 version of TWRP on the i337m.
I understand what you mean about bricking but the recoveries are very similar as are the phones themselves.
I got it to work. There were 2 issues: 1 was that I needed the jfltexx recovery like you suggested, and 2 was that TWRP manager wasn't properly installing new recoveries so I was actually always testing with the jfltecan recovery. Switching to Rashr allowed me to install the jfltexx recovery, which allowed me to get the fltexx cm13.
Thanks again for your help!
To install TWRP, I thought you flashed the tar version of TWRP using Odin 3.07 in the PDA box. That is the simplest way I know to flash it.
