My best friend has a $200 gift card burning a hole in his pocket since July, And loves my Nexus 7 and I keep telling him to wait because demand was so high eventually Best Buy will sell the NExus 7 but time has passed and its not looking that way.
What gives?
i actually called my loacl best buy a few days after release because i was looking for one and customer service informed me that they would have it in stock soon but i have not called back since do to finding one elsewhere. however i do think they will get it, at some point.
A few years back I had a best buy gift card for 50 bucks, didn't need anything at the store....so I found something for 50 and returned it the next day and got cash back.
Not sure if it would work in that amount, buy worth a shot.
You could sell it on Craigslist for not much less, I've done it before.

I got a bunch of best buy cards from that viggle app in hopes of buying a nexus 7. When I realized that they weren't going to sell it I sold the cards on plasticjungle. Com for 85%. Transferred the cash straight to my PayPal account.
I just bought mine at best buy yesterday...? But this was in Canada so maybe it's only Canadian best buys? Weird that Canada actually gets something before the states haha

Its really weird that the don't. Google is losing a lot of sales by not being there.

On that note, I only knew that best buy sold it because I made a spur of the moment decision to check the website. The store didn't even have them out on demo so I almost left empty handed but decided to ask an employee.
I think they're still having stocking problems. My local Walmart only have 3 each, and they just received them in the past few days. I have no idea why Walmart would have them instead of Best Buy, but maybe they just sold out fast? That's my opinion...

BestBuy has them, in stores here the US.. At least that is where I got mine.
Try calling the stores in your area. I had to called 4 of them until I found one that had a 16GB in-stock.
Could always has the person they got the giftcard from if they still have the receipt, then return it for cash.
i bet apple is restricting the sales at best buy. best buy is really apple friendly, at least here in so Cal.

You can go there, use your gift cards for other gift cards they have. I believe they have Amazon as well there.
huh...
At my bestbuy even if I just mention the nexus 7, a worker says "we don't carry the nexus 7 and will never carry it " I've heard that 3 times now, once when I was just talking to a friend about the one I bought at office depot. SO its kinda like they are obligated to say that? Hah who knows!
Before continuing on, I work for Best Buy, for another week.

Best Buy Canada does carry the Nexus 7. Best Buy USA does not. The reason is BBYC has different agreements than BBYUSA.

How did you buy the Nexus 7 at a BBYUSA? If so can you please post a pic of the survey code at the bottom?

We are not obligated to say that. It's just that Samsung and Amazon contracts make it so that BBYUSA cannot sell the Nexus 7 due to agreements between the two.
Really sucks, I went to Office Max.

I thought I read somewhere that Apple demanded certain Google products not be sold at Best Buy...not sure why something like a GS3 or Galaxy Tab 2 doesn't qualify....but I'm willing to bet thats the main reason BB hasn't carried them from DAY #1.
Anything can change at any time....and hope it does.
It probably has something to do with the price and the threat the nexus 7 poses to Apple.

It's actually amazon's fault BB is not carrying the Nexus 7 or 10. They threatened to pull their products out if BB decided to carry those tablets. Obviously with so many variations of the Kindle BB would end up losing money if Amazon did pull their products so it makes sense for them. it's just stupid retail politics

Sucks to live in a country where unethical behavior like this is allowed...
If this is true, it clearly falls foul of several of these:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_antitrust_law
When I went to the US in October (Portland, ME) I had a really hard time finding an N7. Best Buy told me that they "Don't sell Google products" and I was like, ooookay. So after a bit of muffing about I finally found one at Staples. And they only had one in stock, so I snatched it up immediately.
Best Buy just had your standard iPad's, Nook's, and a few Samsung tablets. Really horrible selection, at least the one I went to was like that.
Hi, unfortunately my Nexus 7 fell out of its case and now the screen is cracked. I'm using it with a mouse and keyboard now, as the touchscreen is the only thing not working.
I'm travelling right now and will be in the States for a few days, Fort Lauderdale and Miami to be exact.
As it'll be my first time in the country, I was wondering if someone could tell me if there are shops where I could sell my cracked Nexus 7 and how much I could expect?
Also, where can I buy a used Galaxy Nexus there?
Thanks!

We don't really have stuff like that here dude. There's shops by Miami international airport but I wouldn't recommend that. Try putting it in craigslist and list it as for parts.
BTW craigslist.com is a classifieds site, not sure if you know that since you're not from the US.

man if you make it here to orlando I might be needing one by the looks of it. Trade you for one with a google screen all nice and pretty, but on a serious note if you are in orlando maybe we can work something out. i would travel down there but It is a drive and I am only out there when heading to the ports Ft.Lauderdale or by South Beach that won't be until March next year.

Hey, yes it'd be cool if we could work something out. I am going to be in Miami between the 18th and 21st of this month. I am not looking for another Nexus 7, as I'm heading down to South America for another month and a Galaxy Nexus would be perfect in terms of portability. Let me know what you think!

If you're going to be in the USA for more than 3-4 days and you know someone here, I would recommend you just buy it through the Play store (or have them buy it and pay them back when you get here). It's 2-3 days shipping as they force you to pay for that and it's about $10 on top of the cost of the phone + tax.
The main reason is that if someone is selling what is more or less a new phone on Craigslist, there is a VERY high probability something is wrong with it. Like a friend of mine who going a Galaxy S III off eBay and now is stuck with a piece of crap that reboots itself randomly 5-6 times a day...or like when I bought a GS2 off Craigslist only to find it randomly powers off whenever it feels like it. So even if it seems fine when you check it out, you might be buying crap.
In other words, you are probably buying someone's problems in the high end phone area. You might also consider buying it new from a place that sells phones off contract. Most retails stores allow that as well. Not worth the $50-75 you might save buying it "used" off Craigslist.
if you want, id be interested in purchasing it from you. just let me know how much you are asking and maybe we can work something out.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how much tax it will be? From what I've read it should be 6% in Florida. Is that right? Buying it brand new is also an option for me, as it is still considerably cheaper than in the UK. From a quick search it seems most retailers don't sell the Galaxy Nexus for $349, as offered in the Play Store. Am I right in believing that?

Looks like 7% in Miami. Yes, $349 is the MSRP, so $373 should be your price when all done. Unless you go Play store, then add about another $9-12 for shipping.

You can play with the new Note 4 at Best Buy starting today. Hopefully some of you will get us some good videos to check out.
I want the edge but I'll go check it out and take some video and pics
Went down to my local Best Buy after reading this. No Note 4. In fact the person behind the desk didn't even know when the Note 4 was coming out. She tried to sell me the Note 3 though. Gonna try in a few days and see what turns up.
I know most stores do have them. Read the other posts for the Note 4 I put out there if you want to check out pics.

Yeh saw that. Don't doubt it but my local Best Buy may be behind a day or something and the girl behind the counter could be brand new. Gonna head there this weekend and check it out.
Preordered Note 4 today at Best Buy. Had to buy a 50$ gift card as a deposit, not sure if this is legit or not but I didn't argue as I can put it towards the phone when it arrives. Also confirmed (or so the sales associate says) that *any* working smartphone, even if it has a $0 trade-in value can be used for the $200 rebate. I plan on trading in my old Treo!
My local Best Buy had it but it wasn't in the cell phone department. There was a separate Samsung display.

The local best buy had only the white note 4 on display. It was really nice... But not really much different than the Note 3.
Sorry, a friend gave me a phone to use as a trade in for free. As opposed to buying one off CL.

Just pre-ordered mine yesterday at Best Buy. With the $200 deal, I couldn't pass it up. I'm going to find my old HTC windows 6 phone to trade in.
i had a few spare devices from perktv, trading in one of the zte avids i bought for 10 bucks ;D.
anyone looking for stupid cheap devices id suggest metropcs cdma phones, they are slowly shutting down the cdma network and they are older and pretty worthless phones by todays standards can get most for under 20 bucks.
Yeah BBY does this sometimes. It's their way of "committing" you to the pre-order to some degree. Also Pre-ordered mine
Given that we are all curious about the phone and that some T-Mobile locations are beginning to put the Nexus 6 on display, let's use this thread to post sightings and our own "hands on" experiences.
Where have you seen it on display and what were your thoughts?
I'm in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area and I've yet to find a T-Mobile with a display of a Nexus 6.

Am also in the DC area, there are pleeeenty of stores in the DMV that have display models. I know one for sure is the Shady Grove & Fallsgrove one, corporate store. Anyway, just call them up and ask them about the sale and they usually tell you that they only have demo unit. Good luck
I posted this in another section earlier today:
If anyone in South Jersey wants to try out the phone while waiting for delivery, the T-Mobile in Willingboro on Route 130 has a demo unit. I tried the thing out and it is definitely big but not shockingly big. It is a little bigger than my OPO and the screen is perfectly huge. At least to me it doesn't feel much larger in the hand than the OPO so if you have an OPO and are ok with that then you should be fine with the 6.
The phone felt fast and buttery smooth. I activated developer options, took animations to 0.5, restarted, and it felt exactly like both my nexus 5 and OPO feel speed wise. I know that is subjective and each person may have a different opinion but that is my take on it so I am happy.
Granted it was brand new with no extra apps on it and didn't even have a sim card, but there were 25 free gigs of storage and 1.9 Gb of free ram (for those that care)
Now to just sit back and wait for what seems like it is going to be a damn good phone.....at least after a 5 minute impression
I saw one yesterday on a business trip to San Francisco. 699 Market St. Store. Wasn't on display yet but the rep carrying it around let me have it for a few minutes. Big, really big. And solidly built. And oh so smooth. Display looked okay to me but I didn't compare it to the Galaxy Note 4. To me the Note 4's build quality doesn't even come close to the Nexus 6, though.
Katy, tx. Just west of Houston. Barker-Cypress exit and I 10. Tried it out right out of the box today. I thought it would be bigger.

What time did you go to that T-Mobile store? I went to the 699 Market St store around 7PM and one of the employees told me their demo unit was stolen! Luckily there's another T-Mobile store not too far away from that one, at 50 Powell, and they let me play with their demo unit.

Wow, that's crazy! My last video says 7:19 PM (taken with stand-in iPhone 5). I don't know if that means local there or here (EST).
I DIDNT DO IT, LOL!
i was at the East Cobb location in Marietta GA yesterday and they had one. IT was awesome. They let me compare sizes to the note 4 and shoot, its really almost exactly the same size. I thought it was light, and more comfortable to hold than the note 4 was. IN fact, it felt very similar to my oneplus one. There was no lag at all from the couple of minute test drive I did. It was enough for me to eliminate any doubt that I would be getting it in fear of size or performance. Awesome phone.
Anyone in the Knoxville area find one?
I think the size will be relative, for someone with average + to big hands it will be great
Then again even some folks with smaller hands like big phones
Mays Landing/Hamilton Court (Nearby the Hamilton Mall in South Jersey) has a demo up as well.

They had a display model, but you had to ask to see it. They were very cool about it but didn't have any info. They offered to let me pre order, but they couldn't do it as it "wasn't in the system".
Handling it just confirmed for me that I want this phone.

I have one in the mail as we speak that I ordered directly from Motorola. It should be on my doorstep Monday or Tuesday. I went there because it was the closest one to where i live that was reported to have a display unit and when i called to ask they confirmed that they did. I have AT&A and just wanted to hold it to hold me over until mine comes this week, haha. They did confirm that they have units to sell this Wednesday so if you/anyone else fail in cherry hill then definitely give them a shot.
Chattanooga on Gunbarrel Rd has them but doesn't have the display setup yet. Going to swing by and check to see if I can get my hands on it. Will update later if they let me play with it.

Some best buy locations do.
Thanks. I tried the biggest one around here and they didn't have them. I'll have to try some others.
Probably safe to say, most people have bought the 6P sight unseen, and still love it. I just got mine a few days ago, and I'm very pleased with my choice, even after seeing and playing with the S7 edge in person.
I believe best buy and B&H Photo in Manhattan does if you're in the New York area

Funny, now that I think about it I've never bought a smart phone from a brick and mortar store. But then again, all my smart phones have been Nexus and I have never been disappointed, mainly because I hate skins and love the freedom to unlock, root, and flash custom roms. IMO it's not even fair to compare a Nexus with other phones that have heavily customized Android operating systems.

I'm the opposite. I've touched and played with every phone I've used before buying it. That's what got me going down the Android road as opposed to the "i" path.
I too love the customize my phone. My Galaxy S4 isn't running TouchWiz and hasn't been since the day I got it. I don't care about a lot of the "features" that many people do, but I do want a phone that performs well, and feels good/sturdy.

I had better luck finding them at Best Buy Mobile stores, which is basically a smaller shop you'd find like in a mall that specializes in cell phone sales. They were the only store for miles that had them in stock, and I live in the Chicagoland area. That's where I got mine. If you look for nearby stores through their website, it should include the mobile stores in the results.

As you're having issues locating one physically, it might be worth you buying one from Google and taking advantage of the return policy, should it not be the device for you. It means paying up, but a full refund for a return, within the set time, would save you miles of travel and fuel costs for perhaps a small shipping fee.
