Can our mini USB ports be used to connect things like usb flash drives, I know it cannot by default but doesnt the samsung and qualcomm chisets support this? I know windows CE supports it as well.
I don't think the Hermes can host USB. There's a newish protocol called USB on the go that's meant to allow devices to communicate without a host, but nobody seems to use it.
Personally I would be happy with a bluetooth usb host device.
no, tytn doesnt have usb host functionality, this has been answered many times in different posts.

anyone here know if its possible to use a usb pc gamepad on a wm5/6 by converting the usb to a miniusb??? and is there any driver for this to work??
it would require the device to support usb host
and it dont
it can only use the usb connector to be charged by
and to have an usb host like a pc sync with it
hey tnx for a quick answer.
just wanted to say that it dosn't just recharge and do the pc sync, but also it can be used with hands-free, and u can listen music with it by converting the miniusb to a 3.5mm audio plug.
And what about this guy here http://www.imagecows.com/uploads/_553e-century_sutra1688_pda_phone_3.jpg
it seem like his using a miniusb gamepad with his wm phone
i found a Bluetooth version of a gamepad, I have never tried it so I dunno how well it works or doesn't, but that may be a route to explore....

Hi
I want to be able to also connect my bluetooth keyboard with USB to my nexus 10 device.
My device is rooted and I have an OTG cable.
When I connect the bluetooth keyboard to my nexus 10 from micro-usb --> USB --> micro-USB my device recognizes the USB connection but not the type of connection (no driver). So it doesn't see that it's a keyboard. I was wondering whether one of you smart IT people knows how to make my Nexus recognize a bluetooth keyboard, it does recognize a normal usb keyboard.
I already googled it (and searched on this forum) but I couldn't find a solution.
Thank you in advance for your attention and time.
If you are wondering why --> it's because I think a bluetooth keyboard will drain more battery than a usb keyboard.

Are you sure the keyboard works as a USB keyboard when connected? Usually the USB port on bluetooth keyboards is only for charging which might be why you haven't had any luck...

one way to check this would be to plug the USB cable into a PC and see if the keyboard works there or not?
Does anyone care to look into a patch or addition to the software or kernel to allow usb host support? I think that the hardware supports usb host, but the software removes compatibility because when I plug in a Playstation 3 controller it the 4 lights on the front flash, and it charges, but nothing happens on the the phone as well as when I plug in a usb flash drive or the otg cable itself the message for USB host mode does not pop up.. I have looked for a sulution for this but couldn't find one. Any help, or an answer to what this means would be great!
Thanks
By the way, this is a rooted 306sh
never mind, i got it working
When I connect a pendrive to the USB c port on the bottom of the phone it is not recognised I have tried loads of combinations including normal pendrive using an adaptor but nothing works it connects to my laptop no problem
Did you turn on otg support in settings.
