Smartwatchme Q10 MTK6260 - Other SmartWatches

The only thing I know about the operating system is that it is a proprietary RTOS NucleUs OS. I would love to completely unlock the OS so that I may uninstall it and upload a different one. You can't change/add/delete any apps in this smartwatch. I really just want to be able to listen to Pandora while using the watch in standalone. it has a sim slot and microSD slot for up to 32G of external memory. Any help in this would be AWESOME! Thanks for reading and any help you can give.

Hi did you get lucky with open the scode on the 6260?...

I have read that it is almost impossible and it's Nucleus is garbage. Keep away from it.

What should have been

Hello all
As a relatively new user of the G1 it raised some questions in my mind about its design.
The thing is that all the exciting things are there but some basic things are missing.
First did the designers intention was to enable only English speaking users to use it? Why there is no built in multi language support? Even if the user itself speak English but he is a Japanese and wants to comunicate with friends and relatives not speaking English - he can not.
Second - did the designers realy thought that 256MB of internal memory will not run out of space very quickly, when the whole idea of the phone with the Market is to download applications for it? Why not give the user to choose where to install the application at the installation time? It is like that on my Nokia E65.
What about all the trivial little things that I was so sure they are there, that I did not bother to ask about them, things like choosing where user data - like contacts etc - will be saved, copying the contacts and other user data to the SD card weather or from the SD card to backup or restore them. Again my Nokia has it and it is basic function on any Hand Held device.
When you mount the phone on a PC what do they have to hide when showing only the SD card content?
What is the result - talented people here and else where like JF are trying to Hack/Fix/Go around all these flaws in the design - and realy doing a great job - instead of focusing on developing new and exciting applications for us the users of the phone.
Does any body have an explanation for these design flaws?
Have a good day and thanks to all the developers out there fixing the designers poor design (at least on some basic functionality).

New os, first device running the os, they just wanted to present something. The first car ever produced sucked too, it just happens.

When you mount the phone to the PC, it only mounts the SDcard. No ones hiding anything, but if you're using a stock G1 then thats all you really have access to anyways, and thats prolly the way google intended it, considering the OS is open source, so im sure while android was being developed they couldnt figure the need to hack a device thats already open source. So why would they make it to where any everyday user can just hook up the phone, delete the whole system "accidently", and then have a $400 brick? Cuz you know thats what everybody would do if they could...theyd go deleting things that they dont know what the hell they even do, then go whining to google or tmobile when their phone is ruined. Who wants to shell out all the money to replace all the phones that were bought by complete and utter MORONS who will settle for nothing less than to go messing with stuff they dont understand until they've rendered their phone completely USELESS? Not me, and surely not google, either. So if you want to have the phone mount the whole system, then make your own build and add that functionality. Thats the beauty of an open source platform, they made it SAFE FOR ALL USERS, and then advanced users who actually know what theyre doing can change it any way they want. So dont complain about the way android was released because it is, by no means, a finished product. So if you dont like it, CHANGE IT. Or pay someone else to change it for you. Whatever. But the point and the beauty of this OS is that YOU CAN change it, you arent just stuck with ****ty functionality, you can change whatever you want to make your device do whatever you want. Dont just sit around crying about the current state of android...get out there and make it better, for yourself, for all of us, or accept it the way it is and leave it alone.

Ditto. Even though the hardware keyboard is English, there are plenty of alternative Virtual Keyboards on the market that have multi-language support, including middle-eastern and Asian ones.
Re: 256MB int memory... That's a huge "WTF" in my book. This phone should've had HTC Hero's specs of 512MB RAM and 256MB ROM.
Installing apps to SD card can be accomplished with custom ROMs. For everything else - "there's an app for that".
Keep in mind that Android is still in its infancy. As the OS and SDK mature, you will see all those features, and many more.

Your saying the Ford Model A sucks? haha
What Should have been
The first car though did have four wheels an engine a steering wheel etc all teh BASIC stuff where there.
Today we have all the other goodies AC, ABS, Stereo etc.
In the G1 it is like they started with the goodies and left the basic out.
Since the OS is open source it can be modified, but if installing a modified ROM, it voids the warrenty.
So if you spent a lot of money buying the G1 discovered these flaws in the design and wants to rectify it by using a modified ROM you loose your warrenty.
Bare in mind that this is not a cheap device and so is expected to perform and have MORE functionality then a cheap device.
I whould not even bring all this up if it was a cheap device.

You could always just flash with stock firmware and perform a hard reset.
Don't get me wrong, in general I like it, it is just that it seems to me careless not to include those basic features. They, as a professional designers should be able to figure out the design better and it is not that they did not have anything to rely on, many smart phones are out there to learn the good and the bad from.

Where did you come up with THAT nonsense?
If you change the software and the LCD quits, the LCD is STILL under warranty.

Verizon SCH-I545VRUFNK1 Android 5.5

I have the Galaxy S4 from Verizon, updated to VRUFNK1 and now i can't write to my SD card or gain root.
I've been waiting forever for an update to 5.0 Lollipop and talked with Verizon and Samsung and Samsung said 5.0 has been released already by them for the S4 and now the carriers have to ruin it their own way..
I'm wondering who caused the SD card to be unwritable, Google, Samsung, or Verizon?
Can other carrier's Galaxy S4s still write to SD card and gain root?
And can anyone tell me if there's already a 5.0 available for Verizon's S4 that has SDcard access and Root available?
Thanks
What do you mean you can't write to the sd card? You can't copy files to it, or what? And are you talking about internal or external?
The GPE roms don't have such problem. And those basically come directly from google.
There's a well-known problem of not being able to write between internal and external cards, not even apps can do it, rendering the SD card pretty useless, and many apps useless as well. As well as not being able to Root the device. It really broke the phone.
Are GPE ROMS going to work with every carrier?
I assume Verizon is working hard to modify 5.0 to be broken as well.
I'm also wondering who broke it. Google (if other phone types of the same build also have the same problem), Samsung (if the problem is isolated to Samsung devices of this Build), or Verizon (if other carrier's Galaxy S4s of this build don't have the problem )
I want to know who to hate, and who to wish dead, and who to who to blame for this broke piece of shyt in my hand that was forcibly ruined for me whist still under 2-year contract
If there's any class action lawsuits pending against them, I'd like that information as well
For anyone in America, i need some advice on how best to leave Verizon, maybe Trade in my phone to someone who'll Buy out my contract with Verizon, then sign up for another carrier preferably with a free phone or under 100$ phone that can be rooted, run lollipop, and write between internal and external SD cards
In the GPE rom I use there is no option to move apps to sd. Since it's the same rom that is on the S4 Google Edition, I'd asume google has something to do with the whole thing.
I read somewhere that they want apps and data to stay on the internal storage. I don't know how they want to do that when the apps keep getting bigger and the storage of the phones remain the same. And if you want one with a bigger internal storage, you have to fork out more cash. Greedy bastards.
Interesting.
Verizon forced me to update.. After months of being bothered by popups telling me to upgrade every 5 minutes and sometimes hitting the button accidentally while im working on another program when it pops up, i was originally given another step about selecting a date or something before proceeding, they then secretly removed that warning so that the next time I accidentally hit the button on pop-up it went immediately to the full upgrade.
They want it all on the internal memory so they're able to Force people into using web and cloud services so they have access to all your life's work and dealings. This way they can prevent people from using offline storage or saving to device external storage. This is especially for notes, documents, office programs, contacts lists, and other app data wanting you to send it unsecurely over the internet. The smallest file sizes they want to prevent being transferred, its not about space, though thats the benefit the hardware manufacturers perceive.
It particularly benefits data collection agencies like Google and the NSA, and information theives like the bilderburger and trilateral organizations of global corporate conglomerates who make trillions of dollars by having the next great idea they now simply harvest from so-called smart phones
Im actually interested in Mer builds of Nemo or Sailfish OSs as an alternative to this crap we're now forced into like idea cattle
You'd be surprised how the NSA controls most of our mobile phone use. From e911 to phone manufacturers and OS builds and Service Providers.
Blackberry actually holds patents for methods it created to give the NSA full monitoring control of every device. I don't see how that differs from a wire-tap. And we're all forced into it. And Anfroid, ios, and WP have even more exploits purposefully created than blackberry does.
I'm so sick of everyone who has a user base suddenly pretending their in the NSA and doing illegal crap for our own good. From Facebook to iPhone to Verizon.
Where is our Meritocracy? Our Meritocratic heroes are MER devs and Sailfish and Nemo are the only Hope we have left..
As everyone knows, internal storage is insecure. Any information stored on it has the very real potential to be completely lost should one of many small problems happen with your phone.
This now means that besides not being able to store or save mozt important information directly to your microSD card from within apps on your phone, you can also not create a backup of your vital data and save it to your microSD card in your phone.
This means that the only backups you can perform properly must be done online through cloud services or on your PC using Samsung's own backup software that is no doubt created to send your information to their own remote servers for data collection purposes. Or at the very least to simply promote their own software or make ithe "solution" so inconvenient people give up and use clouds
Every document you create now must be somehow synced unsecurely for the whole world to see. If you don't, its guaranteed to be lost at the point your phone is given a problem.
That's why we're all in this boat of suckass phone experiences.
We need to stop supporting this crap amd go with Meritocratic Mer Linux devs OSs instead
CM12 has the possibility to move apps to sd. But it may be buggy at the moment.
Anyone at all have a fix for this?
Or a way to install Android 5 on this POS Samsung Galaxy S4?
Verizon doesn't seem to give a flying Fvk about anyone but their dickhead developers dickfaced ideas
If they haven't Released android 5 by now, i doubt those kvkwit assclowns ever will
So im ready to assrape this fvking phone already and use this hardware for any other OS that is going to allow me my right to Root my phone.
Anyone else rooted their S4 in any useful way?
Anyone?

If you haven't yet been there, they should be able to answer your questions because we can't. This forum is for the international S4 devices and the GPE S4.
Thanks. This site has become way to big.. Hard to find where things belong.
Any way to get this thread moved over to that forum?
Worst thing about moving to America has been the mobile phone experience.
Contact a mod and ask them to move it.

Linux On Dex - First Impressions

So, I am at work and I showed off Linux on Dex to some other Developers and Engineers here.
Impressed they were, but it's time to really dig in.
Here is what I love about it on first look:
Great to have a fleshed Linux experience on my phone
Great dev tools come with the image (IntelliJ and also Visual Studio Code and more)
Has plenty of apps to get you started and it's pretty thoughtful
Looks great at 1920x1080 as well as 2560x1440 resolutions on a monitor
Switching between Dex and Ubuntu is pretty snappy
Things I didn't like:
Just a LITTLE bit laggy sometimes
Need to either use ARM compiled apps or compile them yourself
The Default 10GB partition size was too small, so I would suggest using 15GB at least, after updates/upgrades (Ubuntu OS updates that is), you'll still have about 35% free space with 15GB disk
You cannot "install" this on the SDCard, only internal memory, so keep that in mind if you have the 128GB model and tons of apps
Once installed, you cannot delete the 3GB+ zip file you downloaded, so there is that wasted space as well (ok, I have not tried REALLY hard to delete it yet, but Google Files won't delete it, nor do I know the repercussions of deleting this file too)
I'm still trying to work out how to access the files on the device (outside the Linux container), not sure if it is possible, but I have not had a lot of time with it as of now
BONUS!!
When you are not in Dex mode (normal handset mode), you can still launch Linux on Dex, but you cannot get the full desktop experience.
Click on the Terminal icon under the RUN button and you can drop into the Ubuntu Shell and still use commands (like SSH-ing to servers using your certs and stuff).
Of course, the down side, small screen. Hey, in a pinch, when I am on the road and needs to SSH into an AWS instance and run a couple commands, I won't complain!!
All in all, I think this will be great for Dev's to play with, not sure how useful it REALLY will be, but I know from a DevOps/Architect/Engineer, it's nice to have as a backup to be able to actually take care of things without having to drag out the whole laptop.
All this, with a $20 adapter.
Any other thoughts for those that have used it?
Hello friend, I have mine installed on my 128gb Sdcard.
How did you get it on your SD Card?
Thanks!

Move the file from LoD folder to the SD card and reassign the file location in the Linux on Dex app, it worked for me but moved it back to internal storage to ensure best performance .
My impression? They will poorly maintain it and I suspect it will be discontinued without any real notice. Registration was broken for well over a week before signups ended. You cannot get in contact with anyone from the team. Care doesn't even know it exists.
I am yet to find a use case that improves upon remote access to an Ubuntu 18.04 VM running on a cloud or at home, but I'm not a developer.
Perhaps if you are stuck somewhere without an Internet connection and feel like coding somewhere in the mountains or in the jungle.. But then you would need a handy monitor, keyboard, mouse and a power source..?
I think I can sum this up in one simple sentence - "Because I can..."
It's like having linux on a PS3, because it could.
Haven't had a chance to use it yet but looks promising. That doesn't mean it will be supported very well, time will tell.
Hardware wise it should work very well, and there is ALWAYS a good reason to have a handy (mostly) self-contained PC with you in case you CAN'T access the net...
Would be great to get an idea of some real life use cases..
Would be very happy to see this project pick up some community developer attention, the platform is only as good as the tools developed for it.
In the absence of an official LoD forum for developers perhaps that community should be developed here.

I got this installed on my 8GB Note 9 today. I didn't get registered for the beta, but download the app and the Ubuntu image and got it all up and running today. My only complaint so far is it won't run full screen on Dex. That may be because I'm running the Pie Beta. Not sure how it operates on Oreo Dex.
I'll play around with it more later. I basically just plugged into my monitor and opened it up today.
Well, here is a real-life use case that saved me a TON of time and effort.
I set up the Linux on Dex with many tools and configs I need to be able to do my work (Sr. DevOps Architect/Engineer) on my AWS servers. I had an instance that was having some issues and was notified via the monitoring platform and was able to get my phone out, run the Ubuntu Shell and SSH/Fix the issue without ever having to pull out the laptop and tether it while on the train headed home.
There ARE some use cases where this will come in handy, but I do agree that these are real "edge" cases too. No "normal" user will ever really find this helpful.

Full screen on oreo.. Have you tried Dex max app?
planning to install LoD and curious if it can actually decompile and recompile apk's as a laptop would..?! mostly I'm interested in Themes for Samsung.. using few apk as templates to swap files, images and recompiling the apk, will it be able and will it properly sign it ?! and if so which way should I go?! do I need to install java, SDK, plugin I saw there ?!
any advice would be great.. thanx..

A wear OS capable watch for developing custom app on?

Hi, I want to hack together an android app for my own needs and side load it on a wearable running, or capable or running, wear os. My hardware requirements are minimal: no SIM, GPS, haptics or any special hardware required -- just something cheap and readily available in China, where I am now. I see the name Ticwatch cropping up on these forums, but might be overkill.
What are the odds I can load Wear OS on a random android-looking device off Taobao?
Thanks for any recommendations.

Anyway to install WearOS apk onto Android 7.1 Watch?

I bought a Kopset Optiumus Prime which has pretty good hardware; 3gb Ram, 32gb ROM, LTE, Ceramic bezel, etc...but the apps are unsat and about anything I install from the Playstore is barely usable if it all. I can't find a way to activate accessibility functions for zoom, so often times I'm stuck with being unable to access buttons that would render in the lower right of the screen.
I've seen several threads on how to install normal Android apks onto a WearOS device, my question is has there been a way found to do the opposite and force install a WearOS apk onto a watch running full Android 7.1? I would love to get the Telegram WatchOS apk installed and running on my watch and would pay a bounty of anyone could show me how to do it.
Also, I have a several WearOS devices and I'm not fond of them (battery life, lag, etc...) along with a Gear S3 Frontier which has its own issues. I see this Kopset or something similar as being potentially very good if I could run apps optimized for it.
No, WearOS is different OS than Android. Some (rare) apps wich do not use any WearOS library can sometime.
