Moto Downgrade Tool is a tool that I have quickly created to SAFELY downgrade android marshmallow to android lollipop on the XT1541 model.
You need Python 3.5 installed to run this program !!
make sure your phone is plugged into your pc and in fastboot mode when you start the tool.
INSTALL MOTO DRIVERS BEFORE USING THE TOOL !!!!
ADB and Fastboot is included in the downgrade tool.
Please comment if you have any issues ! This tool has been tested a few times by myself on my phone. , so it is guaranteed to be able to function correctly !

I'm searching a Rom with multi window feature + floating windows apps like last Sammy's roms for XT1541 do you know any?
Currently using last Resurrection Remix from Vatsal that have multi window but not floating windows
One off topic more:
I have XT1541 European version obtained in Spain but I'm using it in Argentina and my mobile connection (4g) its very slow
I have to change the modem or something else?

About the rom , i am not to sure about finding a rom with floating windows , but i would like that aswell !
Also , about using a european device in a different location, this is probably due to different network bands. I would NOT reccomend you flash another models modem, as this could hard brick your phone .
I foyu have any other questions, dont hesitate to ask !

How are you doing the downgrade without having the bootloader unlocked???
Also, is this flashing EVERYTHING, including the bootloader and partition table, or is this just a tool to perform the "normal" downgrade of flashing a factory firmware image and skipping gpt.bin and bootloader.img?

This tool flashes SIGNED images, which means it does not need bootloader unlock. Also , it skips gpt.bin and bootloader.img . It is a normal downgrade, but i made this tool for people who dont want to risk bricking their phones typing the wrong command or accidentally flashing gpt.bin or bootloader.img

So if I use fastboot and flash a lp I just need to skip those 2 files right?

Downgrading from Rooted Stock MM
I have the XT1541 rooted on stock MM, can i downgrade to stock lollipop without bricking the phone ?
I also flashed the squid kernel r15b (latest)

No need to use fastboot if you trust my programming . but yes , skip gpt.bin and bootloader.IMG and you will be fine my program automatically does that

Downgrade using fastboot it's not possible without unlocked bootloader, that's why I think it didn't work.

Yes, I flashed the xt1541 vodafone EU that was on my phone (now I'm on vodafone 6.0), did you think that it's better I flash the no brand eu version?

wifi not working after root, cannot flash stock firmware (moto x style/pure xt1572)

i used this method to root my moto x style (xt1572) indian
after that
wifi stopped working....its like it stuck in off mode.....doesnt turn on
i did some researching n found that it had to do somthing with modem file
downloaded firmware from this link

i flashed only the modem file but didnt worked
i tried to completely flash stock firmware
got this error

First install drivers and fastboot file and this get bootloader mod and then press volume up to bootloader logo and connect your dives into PC and use fastboot commands in the firmware software in the development don't forget USB debugging on and OEM unlock on and start

Hi, I'm getting that as well, I think it's because I got the february update OTA, which changed partitions. Now I just skip flashing gpt bin and go with the rest. It flashes fine and then I install the OTA February update.

If you have root with systemless flashing boot.img, then wifi will not work, you need flash original boot and you will not be root, actual solution for rooting, is for europe roms.

Image is too large messgae
Hi,
I followed the steps provided in the readme doc and when I run the EASY INSTALLER.bat file and select option 1, I am consistently seeing 'Image is too large' on my phone screen when in AP Fastboot Flash Mode. If after waiting for this process I exit using option 6 and attempt to reboot my phone then my phone always boots into AP Fastboot Flash Mode with the following message:
Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from normal boot mode
How do I get my phone to boot? I take it the images failed to write and the phone no longer has a ROM to use, is this correct? Any help would be much appreciated.

TWRP will get replaced by stock recovery and phone will get unrooted,you can wipe cache and system before installing

Try clean flashing again...
1) Install TWRP recovery
2)Go to wipe > advance wipe > dalvik, cache, system, data
3)Turn off phone > Go to recovery mode (hold volume down + power)
4)Connect to PC with proper drivers installed
5) Run the installer again

For the safer side you should unlock the bootloader because the bootloader itself is a firmware which is OS dependent and some bootloader versions wont work for 6.0.

An XT1068 doesn't support 4g/LTE.

I m on turbo rom MM 6.0.1 and want to flash stock MM but without relocking bootloader so which steps i have to follow and more querry will my touch bug problem resolved after flashing this rom bcoz for last 2 month i have encountered with this touch problem before that my Stock MM works flawlessly

I am on stock MM and touch problem is killing me.I even installed lollipop but no benefit. Now i am gonna try some custom roms

I have same problem bro after trying lots of custom ROM now I am on cm 13 and it eliminated my touch latency issue try it...

Right now i'm stuck at the last step (I skipped step 5 just to be sure of that each command is working). 1st command was working, but then 2nd command is got this:

Apparently you're trying to downgrade or install the wrong version of the firmware. The firmware has exactly to meet the version of your phone. So, for instance, for an XT1642 you flash software for an XT1642 and not for an XT1644. Read carefully and flash every file one by one in the exact order. And be sure your bootloader is unlocked.
Send with my Moto G4 Plus (XT1642) using Tapatalk!

Your downloaded ROM is 6.0.1_MPJ24.139-13.1 , and its too old, which means you are downgrading firmware version.
Downgrading of gpt and bootloader is not possible, also it may cause problems to you.
Download latest firmware and flash it..

Hello. Edit your "flash.xml" from firmware and delete line related to "gpt.bin".
Reflash your firmware with rsdlight using flash.xml

From the looks of it you used the blankflash for the B1:06 bootloader. The reason you're getting the pre-flash validation error is that the MPJ24.139-63 firmware is too old to flash onto your device (that's the Marshmallow 6.0 July 2016 patch, not the latest unless you're wanting Marshmallow), whereas you have at least the June 2017/Sept 2017 bootloader on your device.
I would strongly recommend you flash the latest stock ROM we have, which is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 You can either flash the NPJS25.93-14-13 firmware as in the main post, or towards the end of the post, there are links for NPJS25.93-14-18 (April 2018 security patch): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76416801&postcount=785
If you really want to use Marshmallow, you could in theory flash without flashing GPT and bootloader, but you must not use OTA updates. If you want to update, you need to flash stock firmware.

If you want MM... YOU should 1st flash latest nougat... And then.. Boot into twrp don't flash it.. Just boot... And then wipe system, dalvik, data, cache.. And then flash MM.. without flashing gpt.bin and bootloader..
And as suggested by @echo92 you should not take any OTAs.. You'll brick your device..

flash was succesfully done by following your steps (BIG THANKS FOR THAT)
but phone is not turning on after reboot
it comes with motorola logo and then it will automatic turn of and now only led was blinking
and when i press power + volume up button at 1 minute then motorola logo was reappear and
then the same process was happening
and in device manager it was showing qualcomm loader 900 or something like this i didn't remember
what is the solution

Hmm, is this with a locked bootloader or unlocked bootloader?
What steps did you use, just for clarification? Did you flash the stock ROM with or without re-locking instructions?
Are you able to boot to the bootloader still (using power and volume down whilst your device is powered off)?

From the video I see no bootloader unlocked screen, which suggests your bootloader is locked.
Can you confirm if you performed all the flashing steps and they were reporting [okay]? A locked bootloader is quite strict and will not let you boot with custom firmware or stock firmware from other builds (must be the same build). I'd recommend booting to the bootloader and reflashing the stock ROM again. Please keep the log and look for any errors. At this stage I would forget marshmallow and focus on flashing the latest stock Nougat ROM.
If a reflash does not work, you may have a hardware error which only a service centre can fix. A boot loop with a locked bootloader suggests either a bad flash or bad hardware.

So i had the same problem with you, had tried to solve it for 12 hours straight and FINALLY I found a solution: search the internet for a TWRP backup and restore your phone to it. I managed to find one, but i have a z2 play. Hope you can find one as well.

Bro try using the RSD-Lite . I had the same issue. I flashed the same ROM using RSD-Lite and it all worked fine.

Bro...my phone moto g4 plus .I install marshmallow 6.0 something it's showing nougat update then I did download and install after installing now it's time to reboot it's switched off its showing led blinking not switched on then I was searching for solution then I got the blankflash file and tried it's open fastboot mode but no OS installed then I did tried marshmallow but not install then I was tried latest updated nougat it's installed working perfectly.after one day I got security patch update its 40MB .I did download and install then after installing it's time to reboot phone switched off its led blinking not switched on.then I did tried all previous blankflash including latest updated blankflash 8.1.0 anthena file but not working for me it's says something errors.
Please please help me ..I haven't any another mobile only one phone that's now hardbricked ...please:crying:
