I m seeing that many of people facing problem in changing kernel (g3mod to fugu or fugu to g3mod) like bootloop, 0kb internal memory. so i m giving a small trick. First of all remove your sdcard and then delete the folder named Android then flash kernel with odin as one pack then insert your sdcard.
Always prefer flashing kernel via odin as one pack, use cwm only when u dont have pc
And u have to accept that all cpu can not handle 1400mhz. if your fon can not handle such high clock rate then use ultimate. there is no need to overclock to 1400mhz for simpe and daily use, overclck only when u need it like gaming. i use ultimate at 800mhz at ondemand and max 400mhz conservative at screen off.
If I want to hav long lasting battery life, which kernel do i flash?

Use performance or ultimate with some basic setcpu profiles like screen off, ondemand. i think all of us have huge battery drain problem during 3g data connection.

/sdcard/android/data/fugumod this is to be deleted if you plan to use G3Mod and vice versa.
I like fugumod a lot, but currently using G3Mod Ultimate, clocked at 200-1200 MHz in SetCPU using OnDemand Governor and have its working awesome, with good battery backup, data is on, even used GPS for a couple of hours.

If i Flash a NON OC ROM (like Kyrillos 7.0), but use a OC-able Kernel (like Fugumod or G3),will i be able to OC ?

oc depends only on kernel not rom, if want to oc then flash a oc kernel first and then set frequency with set cpu, prefer flashing as one pack via odin

Definately you can do it, infact thats what i do...Flash the ROM that you want as one package using ODIN (kyrillos v7 I have tried and i am too small to comment on it, but its an amazing ROM, very fast and has all necessary things you would want in your ROM). After flashing the ROM, you can download and flash any Kernel that you want again using ODIN as one package. (let me know if you want in detail about any of the process or if you want any Kernel, everything is available in XDA). If you want to go for Kyrillos ROM, after unzipping the file, you can find the v4.01 OC kernel in the Extras Folder which you can flash with ODIN. A wipe is recommended before and after the process is over.
Hope this solves your dilemma, you can anytime reach me for any info that I may be able to provide.
Take care.

I do have both directories:
/sdcard/android/data/fugumod AND /sdcard/android/data/g3mod
My experience is that you have to have the SAME "fs.current" files inside both.
then you can change the Kernels (FUGU or G3MOD) without changing anything, assumed the data in "fs.current" are matching the file systems.

Hi umang,
Would you be so kind to give the links to your setup?
I would like to try out the same config as yours.
Or even better:
Are you able to send me a rom to flash my phone?
I use Kyrillos7 now, but locks at startup allot.

If it locks up at start up, rather than reflashing ROM, you can just flash G3Mod Ultimate Version Kernel 1.3.4 which i used with Kyrillos7 ROM in past and it worked great for me...again I used the same Governor Specs.
However my Specs as you requested above are given below with links, (please give credits to original developer where ever applicable as I am not a developer myself (though I would have loved to be one), thanks)
Here you go
for XXJPS : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125387
-------------------------------
Kernel: G3Mod Ultimate 1.3.4 : http://www.multiupload.com/TEQXRZMKPQ
Credit for the Kernel goes to DharamG3
-------------------------------
SetCPU : 200 Mhz to 1200 Mhz, (Governor - On Demand) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 Or Google
-------------------------------
Other Tweaks that i implemented
1. Lagfix : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892512
2. JIT : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16187138&postcount=6
OR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026870
3. SD Card Fix : Download two applications from the market a) SD BOoster b) SD Tools...Now in the SD Booster try values 512, 1024, 2048, 3072 & 4096 and for each value check the reading 3 times in SD Tools...so you will know at what value your SD Card is working fastest.
Again i would recommend, rather than doing all this, use G3Mod 1.3.4 Ultimate Kernel with Kyrillos7 ROM which has most of these and many other features.

the phone is pretty snappy and the responsiveness is very good ,
i have tried CM9 nightly with the stock kernel which is also pretty snappy
i am posting this thread to know the best performance/battery setting ...So what do u use ???

Looks like the Qualcomm powered devices scores much better than Exynos ones..It isn't a fair benchmark ,hope they'll fix that soon.

No benchmarks are "fair". They're purely subjective values that will even change on the same device between runs. They're affected by 1000's of possible factors, up to and including how long the device has been on, and are essentially, meaningless tripe.
The ONLY purpose they truly serve is as some pathetic willy waving contest.

I want to know if exists a kernel with good performance and reliability with overclock possibilities and DT2W on the "market" did anyone found a good one? i want a good kernel specially for gaming and reliability and DT2W if is possible , thank you very much !
EDIT: I tried a benchmark tool but i forgot to close ~6 Apps lol ,bellow is the result , good or not for 5.1 Stock W/ Stock kernel?
No one know a good kernel? come on guys , i trought you guys are specialists .. :silly:
Tried some kernels like AK kernel & franco kernel but both of them are unstable , at least on stock 5.1 ... can anyone please reccomend me a good , stable one ?
I'd suggest you Quanta kernel

Thanks for the reply bud , i want to use a stable one with overclock possibilities , did you use/used it? could you overclock the device with the kernel installed? what about the battery life , i preffer to ask before installing one wich possibly could not be good for the device needs ..
Yeah I'm currently using it with chroma rom.. You can overclock up to 1728mhz but personally I prefer underclocking for great battery life (more than 5h SOT)
Ok , so i flashed the Quanta V3 then tuned with Kernel Adiutor , runned a AnTuTu benchmark , low score ( about 26.600 ) then Quadrant Standard ( 5.713 max ) then Vellamo ( 794 on multicore ) 891 on metal ... i don't know what's wrong .. i overclocked it , changed the governor to performance , locked the frequency , upvolting , nothing , maybe a bit higher score than previsourious ... the best performance i got was with the AK kernel ( see the pic below ) that's the highest score i ever got i don't know what's wrong , maybe because i'm using stock rom? i don't like custom roms not on this phone , at least ... should i use a stock based modified kernel for 5.1.0 ?
Just scored 29999 on antutu by only changing max frequency to 1728mhz and governor to interactive. If I remember correctly AK has higher overclock frequencies so that could be the reason for higher scores

Yes , on AK you can overclock up to 1.944 ghz but it drains much more battery than Quanta , i think it doesen't exist a good kernel a reliable one ... for this momment i preffer stock kernel with stock rom , i don't like custom roms because them are so slow and unstable , the kernels eat to much battery , that's why stock is better here ...
Hello,
I've been a while testing cm13 based roms, mokee, resurrection remix, cm13 directryl,..., and have noticed that the temperature is much higher than with stock roms. In stock roms: 25-38ºC, in cm13 based roms 38-44ºC ... At times the phone is burning in my hand.
1) Curiosity. Someone knows what the reason for this general overheating roms CM13 vs stock roms?
2) Any way to improve this temperature and equalize with roms stock? Install another kernel (which)? Kernel Configuration?...
Thanks in advance.
I live on el paso Texas so the ambient temperature is so hot , this affects the overheating,im using resurrection remix and using kernel auditor (build in ROM ) app I underclock the CPU to 17xx MHz I didn't notice any performance lost , really , it feels snappier and faster response ,I think it's because when it overheats, the device lower it's frequencies , so for me 17xx MHz as max solves the issue , p.d using latest lambda kernel helps too

Thanks, lambda kernel, mmmm, any special version of lambda? Type of version: stable, beta, incremental, pure?
Stock resurrection kernel it's great you can only set the higher frequency at 17xx mhz and it will no overheat, as for lambda kernel I was using pure version and it's okay too
