I just received a system update in my moto style.
It just says that includes system patches until january 2016.
Somebody else received the update?
I have low battery so I am charging the phone to install the update and see if it is the 6.0.1 update but I don't think so.

If the security patch is anything like an OTA, it won't.
How do we incorporate simple security updates into unofficial ROMs. Sounds like something that would be simple enough.

Nobody has reported that they have even gotten it yet....just an announcement from Sprint. Someone will have to capture it...but first they need to GET the OTA notification.
Why are you wanting the XT1056 4.4.3 update.zip anyways? Your signature suggests you have an XT1053....
I have Tmobile 4.4.3, but my moto x is europe.

Hmmm ok....
Its usually not recommended to flash a CDMA rom to a GSM phone, but let us know how it works out for you.

Try this: First, download the ENTIRE 4.4.2 SBF for YOUR CARRIER (NOT T-Mobile). Flash the ENTIRE SBF. This will flash baseband and all.
Next, flash TWRP Custom Recovery.
And last, follow the instructions in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-stock-flashable-t-mobile-t2773675
This will flash ONLY the system.img and boot.img from the T-Mobile 4.4.3 ROM. You will still have the correct BASEBAND for YOUR carrier, but you will be running 4.4.3.
And don't forget to ADD the proper APN for your carrier. Data will never work on a GSM phone without the correct APN settings.
Good Luck
I am downloading...

Is this the final release update or a beta? On the software update amazon page, it still shows 4.5.5 as the most recent version.

Hi,
I have a Nexus 6P (as you could guess) runner Nougat, and for some reason my phone doesn't get the monthly security OTAs.
When Nougat was officially released, I waited a free days, and after getting tired of clicking the "check for updates" button, I sideloaded the image zip through ADB.
My phone used to be rooted, but I reverted everything and locked the bootloader.
A few days after the September update was released my phone didn't get it, so I sideloaded it too. Now the same thing is happening with the October update.
One of the reasons I unrooted my phone is so I don't have to manually update the phone every month, so it's quite annoying.
Has anyone experienced this? My first guess would be that Google is doing a staged rollout, but we're talking security updates here. That would mean they're willfully exposing you to 1-day vulnerabilities.
P.S. my phone is not a carrier phone

Similar trouble with me
I was tired of waiting for the Nougat update. So as many sites had suggested, I enrolled in the beta program and got the update. Post that I unenrolled my device.
Still running android 7 with August security patch. Haven't received any update since...
Not really sure what am I supposed to do to get the updates... Battery life is now horrible... Read that September patch would fix it... But still not got it
It sucks....
I don't have a solution. I get that it's annoying that the OTA system isn't exactly fast.
But I mean, if you look at it another way, sideloading will always be the fastest way to do it. Personally, I do it asap once it's released. I actually like that we have this option. People who don't care as much can wait and people who want it asap can sideload.
I'm rooted. As soon as an update comes out, I use flashfire to update my 6P. It's really simple and really fast.

The last time I tried FlashFire it didn't work for OTA. Does making changes to build.prop break it? Maybe that's why I couldn't apply OTA update?
But you're not supposed to use the OTA images. You have to use the factory images.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
In Flashfire use "+”, "flash firmware package" and select the downloaded image.
I've unchecked everything but "boot", "system" and "vendor".
You can find more complete tutorials here in xda, but it's that simple.

I'm using RoW LTE on my US-LTE device and I just received the 5.1 update 5 minutes ago. I'm excited to see some improvements. It seems launcher 3 crashes were one of the most dominant problem of 5.0. good thing I'm always using Google now.
If someone has finished installing theirs, how's the experience so far?

I just got the update and install it on my rooted and unlocked Nvidia Shield ORIGINAL Tablet. The update downloaded and successfully installed through TWRP, that said I’m pretty sure I lost root but that's easy enough to get back.
Update: You have to reinstall custom recovery. Also my device has seemed a bit laggy, it took about 15 seconds for my virtual keyboard to pop up to make this post.

I tried that using the URL pattern from Android M but I couldn't get the right changes. Maybe others will have better luck.
Btw, for those who have installed it, the new update messed up my TWRP. Just re-flash it.
After flashing TWRP and wiping cache and dalvik, it became quite laggy. Weird. I'll let it "settle" for a while.
I guess no matter how much this device gets updated, it can never escape the occasional lags. I suspect that these are caused by Nvidia apps. I wonder why nobody has called out this phenomenon yet.
Or maybe, it's about time that Nvidia release some technical docs for the geniuses of XDA to be able to make their own mods or improvements.
I received it some hours ago on Original LTE model.
Tablet is very smooth, 98 500 on antutu in performance mode.

Based on previous updates. Reteu got it last.
I'm on the tkpca software channel. Are there any risks to sideloading this update? Chances are this will be the same update every software channel gets, but I'm not sure if there would be any differences between each software channel involving different bands.
finally.. now i hope the G series get it next..
Someone knows if this version have the blankflash?
We reteu are probably the least market.
Just sideloaded the OTA on my XT1635-02 Retail RetBR channel. Everything working fine.
