Switched over to a 6p three weeks ago. Came from ab iPhone. Deactivated iMessage. I send and receive individual texts fine. And send group Texts fine. I don't receive group Texts. Any advice on why I don't receive group Texts.

I think your friends still think that your on iphone so they are trying to use the iMessage protocol for the group message.
Your friends will need to re-create the group on their end to use your phone number, and not your imessage address.

I recently switched from iphone to note 3 and i am about to pull my hair out. At first i wasnt getting any text from iphone users. i disabled my old imessage account and all seemed well. Then i realized if i send a group text out that i wasnt getting the responses as they were going to imessage. I changed my imessage password and deactivated the phone on the support page. what can i do to get all of my text?

My wife just got a new phone number. The number was formally married to an iPhone. She was not receiving any message from iPhone users because someone had it registered to imessage. I just called apple, 1-800 - my - apple and got technical support to unmarry the number.

i did that but still nothing. i can receive normal text all day. i can send out group text. the problem is i cant receive group text responses. i am texting with iPhone users but if i send out a group text and they reply it never makes it back to my phone. this is so frustrating because i dont know what i am missing.

I cant seem to get text from iphone unless my friends go in manually and change my contact info to send as sms and not as imessage. Needless to say thats alot of contacts to have change. I called apple support and they took my number off the imessage servers which is what i thought would work. Needless to say it still doesnt seem to work. They can receive my messages but i cant receive theirs. Does anyone have expeirce with this? Any ideas?
You aren't on iMessage anymore. It's proprietary. They'll need to switch to SMS when texting you. Sorry.
I never had an apple device so I'm not too sure about this, but maybe you can disable it somewhere in the settings of your apple id?

Unfortunately, this is an issue with Apple. Slow process is to remove the device from your apple account. I forgot the link.
How I resolved it was by activating my account with an iPhone and changed the settings in messages to only send by sms, so it doesn't use iMessage anymore.
This resolved everything.

oh k cool! glad you worked it out.
So I have seen stuff all over the web about this topic, but have yet to find an answer. I am one of the many folks that has a problem with group messaging not working correctly. Here is what I have noticed so far.
If I use my stock messaging app to send a group message, it ALWAYS sends out as a group message.
When using Handcent, sometimes, yes just sometimes, when I send out a group message, it will send to each individual contact in that group message. Most times Handcent works properly though. Then every now and then, it sends all individual messages.
Anybody with an Iphone, or another Sprint Galaxy s4, I have no problems with. Theyre replies always come back as a group text
One friend, who has an android on Verizon, when he replies to the group, I not only get his message as if its just coming from him to me, it is also blank, and I cant read it.
Another friend, has an android, not sure what provider, but his messages can be read, but they also come back to me as individual messages.
Is there a different ROM that will solve this issue? I am using Stock 4.2.2, but it is rooted.
This is really annoying, so I wanted to see if anyone has figured this out yet.

This is very annoying to me too. here's what happens to me.
My s4 is on Tmobile prepaid(has been for years since flexpay)
I use Google Voice for calls n text.
I use the native sms app to send/receive.
I use google voice to send/receive and to start my group messages.
Now my native app is starting to not send long messages, roughly 20 characters or more.
Same for my google voice app since the new yr.
I can send out group messages from my google voice app but the replies come back as individual.
All 1,500+ of my contacts use my google voice number to talk to me.
I dont know if this is related but I use Google voice build 0.2.2.80 and will not update yet.
I've attached my version rom. I've used Jovy xtremeperia rom for yrs and its been the best rom I've used thus far. I jus started having issues a month ago with group messaging. I have not done anything different and I never update apps or my rom unless comments say otherwise.
someone please help us if you know anything. I do not use my regular number so if this issue is google voice related please advise. Thanks in advance
The group that I work with spends a lot of time on conference calls together, and lots of time sending group text messages to each other. We often need to be researching something on our phone at the same time.
We have one guy on Verizon and he won't get any texts until he hangs up his iPhone.
We have another guy on Sprint that will get individual texts during a phone call, but not group texts or picture texts on his iPhone.
I'm on AT&T with an HTC M8 and I'm able to do all three at the same time. So is another AT&T iPhone and a Galaxy S6 in the group.
I think this is a network issue, but I'm not sure.
Can anyone on AT&T confirm that this phone is able to send/receive group text messages while simultaneously using voice and data?

Use WebEx.
I have no idea what WebEx is, nor do I want some cobbled solution. I want a phone that does what I need it to do.
I don't have the phone, but I think I saw somewhere that you can try the phone for free for 30 days and if you don't like it you can return it to ZTE.
Does anyone having problem with sending MMS? I can use data for everything else but can't send/receive MMS. Texts and calls function as normal though. I'm on GSM Ecomobile which is basically T-Mobile. Thanks.

The APN you're using most likely does not have Ecomobile's MMS server address. Get Ecomobile's APN info and create a new APN with that info.

i'm not with AT&T (i'm with TMO) but yes the ZTE Axon 7 (of course you are here for a reason) DOES SUPPORT VOICE / DATA at the same time, i do it all the time...searching something on the internet while talking on phone and even sending MMS while talking over the phone....
P.S. i use headphones so is easy to Talk while doing something else specially those long waiting times grrrr hate those calls LoL

Voice and data at the same time is very different from voice and MMS at the same time. Verizon can do voice/data, but not voice/MMS. Thanks for confirming.

but yeah some carriers accept some things and others not....so is cool Tmo service allowing all those 3 at the same time if anyone needs it.

I figured it out. One of my APN protocol was IPv4 instead of IPv6
I'm sure you guys know about the group text. I recently moved to the galaxy s7 from an iphone 6. I noticed that group texting doesnt really work. I can send group text messages to my friends with iphone but i will only be able to see one person's reply, and i dont get anything from anyone else. MMS is enabled and group chat is enabled. Does anyone know a work around, tip, or trick to get group texting?

If u are talking about whatsapp u can do group chat by broadcasting messages to different groups

I fixed it got all of my iphone friends to delete my text messages on their phones and i deleted them on my phone, then re-established a group message and it all worked. Btw you have to go to the apple website and de-register imessage for the apple account that you previously had.
